Officers discover atlar containing burnt artifacts and bones On February 16, 2013, at approximately 12:50 p.m., the Pasadena Police Department responded to the report of a possible trespasser in the 800 block of North Oakland Avenue. When officers arrived on scene, they located what appeared to be a makeshift altar, adorned with burned artifacts, animal bones, incense and candles. Human bones and a human skull were also found in the remnants. Pasadena Police Investigators, along with the Los Angeles County Coroner Office, responded to the residence and collected these items for further analysis. This incident is being investigated as suspicious circumstances and is ongoing.

Marcus Anthony Nieto was pronounced dead at a trail near Canon Blvd in Altadena Sunday. Nieto, whose body was found after 8AM on a horse trail had appeared to have been been shot in the head according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s officials. The SO is investigating the incident as a homicide. Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff’s office in Altadena.
