My Years at HSPR ... HSPR is like a second home to me. The first day when I entered the gates of HSPR, it was the start of a new journey for me. A long journey with bumps on the way but I enjoyed it a lot. The first day, I was welcomed by our graceful headmistress Ma‘am Sumairah. I had entered a new alien environment but with my loving friends and the hardworking teachers surrounding me, I settled down easily. I spent three years in this school. The best three years of my life. In start when I was in Class VI, I was a shy girl, but now when I see my reflection in the mirror I see that girl has flown away and I stand as a strong, confident girl. I was a girl who thought that she was nothing in this universe, but now I have strength and I believe in myself. This year when I will sadly leave this school, I will miss those smiling and encouraging faces of the teachers. I will miss that fun and fights with my friends. I know that I will never be able to study in such a kind of school where teachers are always ready to give you time, where the junior staff is so cooperative and where everyone always supports you when you give crazy ideas. Salute to Ma'am Sumairah! Salute to the teachers! Salute to HSPR! Manal Attique (VIII—A)
Skype in the Classroom
Students of class VIII-A of Beaconhouse Harley Street Branch, Rawalpindi presented a heart touching assembly on ‗Defence Day‘, in which they depicted how our soldiers sacrificed their lives for their beloved country The good thing about this assembly was that the young Beaconites created, produced and directed the whole assembly themselves.
Students of class I experienced something extraordinary without leaving their classroom i.e. a Skype Session with a security official DSP Tahir a high ranking police officer. The whole session provided students the opportunity to understand the slogan ―Be Alert, Be Brave, Keep Safe‖. Students enthusiastically took part in the discussion and tried to clarify their ambiguities.

Inter School Spelling Quiz
It is believed, ‗If a student is not doing hands-on Science, they are not doing Science‘. Likewise, we also believe that doing hands on activities inspire deeper investigations Our little scientist of grade V proved the hypothesis that ‗light, air, water and sunlight are necessary for germination‘ by conducting an experiment. Grade IV experimented and with logical evidence verified that warmth and moisture lead to the development of bread mold.
We will remember ...
I Shall Rise & Shine I shall rise and shine Till the end of time I may have left the world But I am in your hearts forever. They thought we would give up, But we stood up again.
Hands on Learning
It is a tradition of Beacon house to conduct orientation session, at the beginning of the academic year, to make the parents aware of the syllabi being taught in the class. This year too an orientation session was organized by the school where not only the curriculum was shared with the parents but also a career advisory session was held for grade VIII. Parents queries regarding the subject were also answered at the end of the session.

They thought we would be afraid But they were wrong and we continued learning We continued to strive. Their sacrifices will never be forgotten Their killing will never be forgiven We shall make their dreams come true
Parent Teacher Meeting During the academic year, frequent PTM‘s are arranged that provide an opportunity to the parent to talk with the child‘s teacher to become aware of their child‘s progress in terms of his/her strengths and weaknesses both academically as well as behaviorally.
They may have thought that we won't study But instead my brothers and sisters learn what I left. Your guns can not kill my dream You can not shoot down our hope To rise again, to rule again I am not dead. I am a martyr. I shall rise and shine always :') By Syeda Aimen Hussain Class VIII—A
Headmistress’s Note Dear Parents, We all are aware of the series of misfortunate events our country has been witnessing for the past few years or so. It is now high time to realize and stand united against the human calamities that are now a part of our daily lives. It is time to prove to the rest of the world that no such amount of havoc can take down PAKISTAN so easily; for we, as the educators and mentors of our society have a bigger responsibility on our shoulders and that is to spread the message of faith, unity and discipline, the very foundations of our country‘s existence. ―Pakistan is proud of her youth, particularly the students, who are nation builders of tomorrow. They must fully equip themselves by discipline, education, and training for the arduous task lying ahead of them. .‖ ― Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah Having said this, we must all realize that the task ahead of us is great. Inculcating tolerance, patriotism, dignity and a desire for better education in our children should not only be the top priority of the educational institutions but also of the parents. It is our youth that will carry forward good morals and a strong desire to contribute to the welfare of our societies and therefore our motherland. This term our branch has been hosting numerous events and activities as part of the learning process. We believe that it is important to maintain a well-rounded personality by enhancing a child‘s mind not only through academic curricula but with co circular activities as well. We are encouraged to see the pupils ‗involvement and enthusiasm. The updates of main events and happenings in the first term are highlighted in this issue. Best Regards,
