EARLY EDUCATION FUNDING INFORMATION Situated in the heart of Bournemouth Collegiate Prep School is our Kindergarten; a warm and welcoming provision, offering the highest standard of education and care to children from 3 – 4 years old.

Our facilities are excellent and in addition to their own purpose built classrooms and outside play areas, the children benefit from use of the woodland, sports hall, swimming pool, music room and library.

Our dedicated and caring staff are all well qualified and an experienced and inspirational Head of Early Years leads the team.

KINDERGARTEN AT BCS PREP The number of sessions children can attend in Kindergarten is flexible and ranges from a minimum of three days per week, to a full time place.

Kindergarten operates during school term times only, 34 weeks of the year.

However, Holiday Club is available from 8.00am – 6.00pm, Monday to Friday, outside of school terms.

You will see from the session list below that we offer the option of full days and school days. Any children who still need continued care will join the After School Club at 5.00pm. Early morning ‘drop off’ is also available from 8.00am.

Lunch is provided for pupils attending for a school day or a full day.

However parents should provide a snack for mid-morning break, and afternoon break if your child is attending until 5.00pm.

We offer the following sessions: BCS Prep School Kindergarten Full Day (8.30am-5.00pm) School Day (8.30am-3.15pm) Current fees are available within the Admissions section on the school website.

EARLY EDUCATION FUNDING INFORMATION From the beginning of the term following their third birthday to the beginning of the term following their fifth birthday, a child is eligible for 15 hours of universal early education funding. From September 2017, some children may also be entitled to 30 hours of extended early education funding.

BCS wishes to support working parents and will accept the education entitlement funding, which parents can access for 34 weeks of the year. A maximum of 6 hours per day will be applied to fees for attending a School day or a Full day.

Parents are able to choose their preferred days and the school will try its best to accommodate these, subject to availability of places.

In addition to the education entitlement funding, BCS will make a charge to cover all the additional services that it offers, including such benefits as mid-morning and mid-afternoon snacks, lunch (for those children in all day) swimming, forest school, library, music etc.

BCS will accept the universal and extended hours education entitlement for pupils who are eligible in Reception. Again, a charge will be made to cover all the additional services that the child will enjoy as they begin full time education with us.

All parents are entitled to universal early education entitlement funding from the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole council but parents wishing to claim extended hours free entitlement will need to apply for the extra hours by logging onto the government website www.childcarechoices.gov.uk and completing the eligibility checker. Parents who meet the criteria for extended education entitlement funding will be given a code number which they then give to the early years provider of their choice.

Government Education Entitlement Funding Only The school will offer a limited number of places to parents who wish to claim just their universal early education entitlement without incurring charges for any additional services. These hours are available between 2.00pm and 5.00pm each day up to the maximum 15 hours. Places will be subject to availability.

The school is not in a position to offer a 30 hours funded place, without any additional services. However, parents can take the 15 hours entitlement funding with us and then access the additional 15 hours with another provider. Education entitlement funding only places are not available in Reception.
