P R OM IS PROMIS – the Patient Records and Outcome Management Information System – is the only province-wide integrated registry and clinical information system for kidney disease and transplant patients.
FEATURED WORK PROMIS MODERNIZATION CONTINUES The PROMIS team continued to make progress on the migration of functionality from PROMIS Classic over to PROMIS 4. 2023 saw the movement of functionality related to Home Hemodialysis, Dialysis Status, Clinical Trials, and the entire Dialysis Scheduling module. The re-release of the Medications module in PROMIS 4 was another critical module scheduled to move before the end of the year.

High levels of end-user input have been incorporated in the development of both the Dialysis Scheduling and Medications modules to ensure they meet the needs of our user community. For Medications, this meant the module was redesigned after multiple stakeholder engagement sessions – including reaching out to those who shared concerns after the first release – in order to come up with a design that allowed for improved efficiency within the PROMIS 4 user workflow. For Dialysis Scheduling, it meant onboarding user feedback late in the development cycle, even though that required us to make changes very close to our release date.
