Nigel is a highly qualified trainer and consultant who is fully competent in accordance with Regulation 7 of the Health & Safety Management Regulations 1999. With an illustrious career spanning 32 years in the field, he brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his role as a NEBOSH trainer.
His unique blend of industry knowledge, teaching experience and commitment to safety make him an invaluable asset in helping individuals achieve their NEBOSH certification and improve their Health and Safety practices.
TOM BESWICK-BROWN MSC, CFIOSH
With over 25 years of experience, Tom is a highly qualified trainer and consultant, holding both a Masters and Chartered Fellow status with IOSH. An Occupational Health & Safety specialist, Tom’s knowledge is in key areas such as occupational risk management, ISO compliance, business continuity and leadership engagement, making Tom an excellent role model for NEBOSH trainees.
He balances extensive experience, passion for mentoring and commitment to balancing regulatory compliance with operational realities to help individuals integrate safety into their employer’s wider sustainability goals.
SUE LEA CMIOSH
Sue is a highly qualified trainer and consultant, currently working towards a Masters in Strategic Health & Safety Leadership. She brings a wealth of real-world experience, visiting a wide variety of sites and supporting trainees to ensure regulatory compliance.
Sue’s extensive experience, commitment to safety and track record of success make her a real asset to the NEBOSH team.

NEBOSH (The National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health) is an internationally recognised institution that offers qualifications in health, safety and environmental management.
To ensure a smooth and fair relationship between NEBOSH and its learners, candidates, and stakeholders, NEBOSH has established Terms and Conditions (T&C) that outline the rights, responsibilities, and procedures for all parties involved.

Confirmation of booking and joining instructions will be forwarded to client on receipt of the above. To officially withdraw from a course, you will need to contact North West Business Training on 01282 733273 or email nwbt@burnley.ac.uk
Please note: the £995 course fee includes one NG1 and one NG2 unit submission. Any resits will incur additional costs for the individual units.
More than 30 days: Full refund minus £35 per learner administration fee and any learning materials that have been purchased with the intention to support your learning.
14-30 days: 50% refund
7-14 days: 25% refund
Less than 7 days: No refund
Should you need to reschedule your training with more than 30 days notice, please note that the administration fee will not be charged
North West Business Training will endeavour to deliver training programmes as scheduled. When it is necessary, in extreme circumstances, for NWBT to reschedule the training, the client shall be entitled to a full refund should alternative arrangements not be agreed. Registration details of delegates will be input onto NWBT at Burnley College’s Management Information System and may be disseminated. This information is subject to the provisions of the Data Protection Act 1998. Individuals are entitled to a copy of any personal data held by the College, for which a fee will be charged to cover administrative costs, prior to release of any such information. The College reserves the right to refuse admission to previously excluded delegates.
If you require any additional support please make our team aware, you will be asked to complete an online form. This will be sent to our Learning Support Team. The request will be assessed and support will be provided where applicable.
All Trainers and NWBT Staff have undergone Safeguarding training and can be approached for support. We also have a professional Safeguarding Team on site to help with advice and guidance on a full range of safeguarding and welfare issues, including problems you may be experiencing in your home life or socially.
Our ethos is centred on the belief that every member of staff is responsible for safeguarding others around them and has access to the professional support needed to provide interventions, advice and guidance when necessary.
a) To have personal responsibility for the health, safety and wellbeing of self and others with whom they are working
b) To observe safe standards of behaviour, dress and appropriate use of protective clothing as required by the College policy and detailed safety procedures
c) To use and not to wilfully misuse, neglect or damage, nor interfere with, devices and equipment provided for their health and safety and the health and safety of others
d) To assist by reporting to staff, any hazards, defects, accidents, inadequacies or dangers which they consider exist in the College or their workplace as soon as possible
e) Not to allow themselves or others to use machinery unless they have been trained in the safe use of a particular machine (and this training has been formally recorded and certificated by a trainer).
f) To evacuate the building in the event of an alarm in accordance with the evacuation procedures displayed on the Fire Action/First Aid notice in each room or any area of the facilities.

• Distract others or be disruptive
• Damage property
• Use inappropriate or offensive language or behaviour
• Wear hats, hoodies etc
• Encourage intruders onto our premises
• Smoke anywhere, except in designated areas


The minimum expected course attendance is 96%, however, we understand other commitments may arise that impact your training.
If you are experiencing such difficulties please make your trainer aware, who in turn will inform Burnley College.
Anyone who feels it appropriate to express dissatisfaction is offered the opportunity to raise openly with full assurance that they will be dealt with courteously, fairly, objectively and in a timely manner.
To be certain of consideration, the complaint must be lodged within three months of the event.
