9.1 Meeting called to order The Chair person, Marwan Marwan, calls meeting to order at 5:40 pm

9.2 The Guest Speakers  The Guest Speaker John Morrison introduced himself to the Set Rep and invited them to publish in the Link –students’ newspaper. Students will have a chance to obtain experience in publications and practice their writing skills.  Genn Fedyk reminded Set Rep regarding the deadline (Friday, May 4, 2012) for the submission of the applications for BCITSA Distinguished Representative Award. This award is dedicated for a Set Rep from the School of Computing and Academic Studies.

Nominees may be nominated by Faculty, fellow students or fellow Rep. A minimum one Letter of Recommendation must be submitted along with the Nomination Form. Set Reps should be present at all Set Rep meetings, be actively involved in the discussions, in good academic standings and etc.

9.3 New business Marwan thanked all attendees for being Set Rep and cooperating during 2011- 2012 school year.

Moreover, it was added that Marwan was elected for the Position of the VP Student Affairs; he thanked everybody who had voted for him.

9.4 Set Rep Forum:  Set Rep were proposed to email Marwan at chaircomputing@bcitsa.ca in case of any questions or concerns.  David introduced to the Set Rep a new student website – www.csthub.net. Set Rep were explained how to log-in and navigate through it. The website contains news, homework, courses, off-topic and etc. It was underlined that new students might find the website’s Navigator extremely useful. Students shared their feedback and ideas about it, and proposed to David to start testing it right away.

9.5 Next Meeting The committee is dissolved for the summer break. The School of Computing and Academic Studies will reconvene in September.

9.6 Adjournment The Chairperson, Marwan Marwan, adjourned the meeting at 6:30 pm.
