Session line up Becoming a leader requires proficiency in a variety of areas. The pillars of self, teams, communication and critical skills are core competencies that every leader needs. When you are choosing your sessions think about what areas you would like to focus on or improve on. To give you a broad understanding of the pillars the definitions are below. Self – having a developed sense of who you are, what you can do, where you are going coupled with the ability to manage your emotions and behaviour on the way to getting there. Teams – is the art of motivating a group of people to act towards achieving a common goal. Communication – is a two-way process - sending the right message that is being correctly received and understood as well as active listening to the individual and ensuring that you understand their message. Critical Skills – These are core competencies that leaders need to have if they are going to be successful in this role. They are foundational skills in addition to the areas listed above. Our presenters come from a variety of backgrounds and skills and they will allow you to explore you own leadership. Some of them will be a bit more lecture style and some them are more interactive (take note of the hands on titles). Self Self as Leader - Robert Murray Oct 9 from 6:00pm-7:30pm • • • •
