MAKING HISTORY Established in 1979, the BCIT Alumni Association was founded to serve its then 12,000 alumni members. Today, there are 200,000 alumni working in every sector, making significant contributions to communities in BC, Canada, and across the globe. 2004 The Alumni Association celebrates 25 years, as the number of alumni reaches 100,000.
1979 BCIT Alumni Association incorporates as a society.

‘Willingdon Club’ is created to give alumni members benefits and discounts, and to help fund Association activities.
1982 Volunteers produce the first Alumni Association newsletter.
1989 The Alumni Association Endowment Fund is established to support student scholarships and bursaries.
1999 The Alumni Association launches its first website.
