f Pinot Noir is your passion, then La Rochelle Winery is where you belong. Their boutique collection of singlevineyard Pinot Noir and Chardonnay can be tasted in a charming converted barn, framed on either side by lush vineyards and a private garden—complete with a koi pond, picnic area and a shaded lawn for relaxing while you take in the views of the majestic Hood Mountain and Sugar Loaf Ridge. The winemaking operations and tasting room were recently relocated to the heart of Sonoma Valley in Kenwood when thirty-year wine industry veteran Chuck Easley and his wife, Jill Hays, purchased the historic winery from close friends, Steven and June Mirassou. La Rochelle specializes in 17 single-vineyard Pinot Noirs, five Chardonnays, a Pinot Meunier and even a single-vineyard Blanc de Noir Sparkling Wine. Explore what makes the Pinot Noir varietal truly unique. The flagship experience is the Po·lyph·o·ny Tasting. Led by Chuck or one of La Rochelle’s wine educators, you will get an in-depth primer into the key aspects of crafting world-class Pinot Noir. Taste three Pinots made from the same vineyard block; each fermented with a different yeast strain. Learn first-hand how varying yeasts affect a finished wine’s final flavors and texture. Taste additional Pinot Noir from different regions and clones to explore the nuanced aromas and layers that Pinot lovers crave!
