New Inspection Framework

This list is taken from our one day training course on the New Inspection Framework. Session One gives an overview of the new Framework.

Session 1 – Overview

New proposals at https://www.isi.net/framework-2023/ Guiding Principles:

· Manageability

· Collaboration

· Typicality

· Proportionality

New areas of focus:

Section 1: Leadership, management and governance

· skills, knowledge and understanding of leaders, and

· management of risk

· Covers current L+M, risk ass’t, s/guarding and Provn Info, complaints

Section 2: Quality of education, training & recreation (to include pupil outcomes)

· Current curriculum, teaching , assessment

· To include much of what has been Achievements

· Recreation and Activities

· Particular protection of SEND

Section 3: Pupils’ physical and mental health and emotional wellbeing

PSHE/RSE - consent

· 5(b)(i) enable pupils to develop their self-knowledge, self-esteem and self-confidence;

· anti-bullying / behaviour

· H&S, Fire, 1st Aid, registers, accessibility

· Premises and accommodation

Section 4: Pupils’ social & economic education and contribution to society, (to include careers ed)

· Curriculum, PSHE (social & economic), SMSC (society)

· Will also cover the ground in previous P6:

· Pupils’ personal development: fulfil responsibilities and contribute positively to the lives of others within …the local community and wider society

Section 5: Safeguarding

Para 7 – Safeguarding and Para 8 (boarding)

· Para 18-21 (staff suitability) and 21a (SCR)

About this Course

This course has been devised to help all those who want to feel confident and ready for the new inspection framework Numbers are deliberately limited to 30 to allow a classroom style learning environment and to encourage collegiality and discussion amongst senior colleagues It will look at the new framework and then take you through the entire cycle of the Inspection process - a real must for anyone leading on Inspection

Course leader

The course leader is Robert Lilley Robert has over 30 years experience in education and over 20 years as a Head in independent schools. Robert is an experienced inspector, and has led or been a team member on a high number of regulatory and educational quality inspections across the age range in prep, senior and boarding schools He has recruited and mentored colleagues in senior leadership positions and has served at national level on various independent school association committees Robert is now the Senior Consultant and CEO at RCL Education Ltd where he specialises in helping schools to understand the inspection framework and how to be prepared for any forthcoming inspection visit This has included help on policy work such as safeguarding or complaints and helping teachers appreciate the pupil achievement and personal development criteria on which inspection outcomes are based.

We have two details available in the Autumn term, 14th September or 28th November We recommend early booking due to our decision to limit places at each event to optimise the delegate experience Places are only £ 195 plus VAT In order to enable all schools to benefit we are limiting places to no more than 3 per school
