REFUND POLICY - CONTINUING EDUCATION

There is a $35 non-refundable withdrawal charge if you cancel your enrollment in a course.

The following conditions apply to refunds: • For all courses: 100% refund (less withdrawal charge) when you notify the Community Education & Professional Certification Department at least five (5) working days prior to the course starting date. No refund after this time.

• For camps: There is a $35 non-refundable fee for any cancellation. Refunds (less $35) will be made only when you notify the Community Education & Professional Certification Department at least seven (7) days before the first day of camp.

• Refund Policies vary for online courses including: Ed2Go, LERN, MindEdge and Construction Experts. Please call for details, 215-968-8409.

Join Norman in any or all of his art classes. Norman graduated from the Academy of Art with a Master’s Degree in Fine Arts.

He created dynamic paintings and drawings of various medium.

He has exhibited his artworks regionally in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York City. He has received the “Palmer Award for Excellence” at the Trenton City Museum at Ellarslie for his oil painting, “The Artist and his Model”. His pastel paintings, “Butterfly Dance”, “Reflection”, and “Blossom”.

Alla Prima Painting

The idea of Alla Prima Painting is to quickly render the subject before the subject moves or the environment changes, where a painting is completed in one or two sittings with minimal touchup. Watercolor Basics and Beyond

In this class, beginner to advanced students will be encouraged to paint subjects they enjoy – from still life to landscape. We will begin with a basic list of supplies and focus on color mixing, the unique use of each brush, and texture and painting techniques.

Playing the Djembe Drum, the Traditional Rhythms of West Africa – Level I

The Djembe drum is a goblet shaped hand-drum and is said to have been invented in the 12th Century by the Mandinke tribe in what is now West Africa. It has been played by West Africans for generations forming an integral part of ritualistic life in Mali, Guinea, Senegal and other West African countries. Meet the Beatles

The Beatles’ music communicates to people, it touches them, it is fun and light-hearted, it is serious and cynical, it is frightening and dark; it embraces many preceding genres of music and spins them afresh. Most know the Beatles’ hits but few know their story.

We’ll delve into the rich personalities of a driven but conflicted John, an eager-to-please but private Paul, a money-concerned turned spiritual George and the abrupt late addition Richy (aka Ringo), the emulsifier of the band. We’ll discuss how they met as teenagers, how they matured both musically and personally, and how they defined and reflected their time. It was the Victorians who really set into motion many of the Christmas traditions still celebrated in America today, particularly festivities centered on family, gift giving, and excessive eating.

This class will whisk students back in time to the Victorian era, highlighting the timeframe’s holiday rituals, with a special focus on the most important of all – food. LITERATURE & FILM To Hell and Back: A Journey into Dante’s Inferno

Upon reaching his 35th year of age, Dante embarks on a spiritual journey that will take him through the depths of Hell, up the cliffs of the mountain of Purgatory, and finally to rise into the heavenly spheres. The Inferno chronicles the pilgrim’s adventure in the underworld by inviting the reader to journey alongside him, exploring the subtle nature of sin and the destruction it causes.

Throughout the descent, Dante will meet with individuals from Christian and Greek/Roman antiquity as well as the prominent European political leaders of the day. Guided by the great Roman epic writer, Virgil, Dante comes to recognize sin in all its forms which prepares him for a later journey through the realm of Purgatory. What we’re doing this semester Increased Sanitization

Deep cleaning and sanitization will occur frequently and thoroughly throughout campus. In addition, we strongly encourage students to wash their hands frequently and make use of the plentiful hand sanitizing stations that will be set up.
