parks. (Where requested and appropriate) Be involved. Some events may cover sensitive or difficult topics. If this is the case, the advisor or staff will brief you ahead of time and prepare you to be involved with the program. Be in touch. If there’s anything that occurred during the event that is of concern to you, from a teen who wasn’t treated well, to your feedback about the content, to poorly arranged logistics…please connect with your chapter advisor or local staff to discuss it! Your feedback helps us to support the teens, and deal with the issues that are present. It is the advisor's job to make sure that the chapter does not sponsor (or appear to sponsor) any program that is contrary to BBYO policy, and that might be potentially dangerous, prohibitively expensive or reflect poorly on BBYO’s reputation. It is preferable for teens to call their parents/guardians and let them know that they are leaving early, should an early departure be unplanned. The reasoning behind this policy is that when teens are at events, BBYO is accountable for their actions – there is no way to do this effectively if teens are leaving the event for periods of time. Also, since parents expect BBYO to be responsible for their teens during this time, it is not appropriate to allow teens to be in
