Moreover, some parts of the exam
may not have been discussed in their specific school, leading to confusion among students.

The Philippines’ inflation rate slightly eased to 8.6% in February, according to the latest report from the Philippine Statistics Authority. The national figure, released on Tuesday, March 7, is marginally lower than the surprising 8.7% print recorded in January.
However, prices in Metro Manila accelerated at a faster pace during the same
month.
National Statistician Dennis Mapa attributed the slowdown in the national inflation rate to lower transportation costs, which declined from 11.1% in January to 9% in February. The figure is a significant drop from the country’s inflation rate in February 2022, which was only 3%.
The continued high inflation rate
poses a significant challenge to the Philippines’ economy, as it affects the purchasing power of consumers and increases the cost of living for the average Filipino. The government and the central bank have implemented various measures to address the issue, such as lowering interest rates and increasing food supply, but it remains to be seen if these actions will have a significant impact in curbing inflation in the long term.
Despite these challenges, the mid-year assessment remains a vital tool for evaluating the students’ progress and addressing their academic needs. The school hopes to use the results to help improve the students’ learning and provide support where necessary.
GENSHIN IMPACT: GAME REVIEW

Baras - Baras High School make waves in the concluded Tarlac City Division Search for Enhanced Gulayan sa Paaralan Program (E-GPP) Project Game, “Gulayan Para sa Aktibong Mag-aaral ng Rehiyong Tatlo.” The school bags the Best in Urban Gardening award and was given recognition during the Stakeholder’s Convergence and Awarding Ceremony held at the Kaisa Hall, Tarlac City Plazuela.
The Gulayan Project of the school was spearheaded by School Head, Dr. Mamerto L. Ragel, Jr. and was lead by Sir John Michael M. Cepe as Gulayan sa Paaralan Focal Person.
Through the efforts of Dr. Ragel, Sir Cepe, the TLE teachers and learners, the vision for the urban garden was realized and is located at the Junior High School campus.
The activity elicited awareness for the students in environmental conservation and serves as an avenue for new-found interest in gardening, environment protection, and knowledge of botany.
The Department of Education (DepEd) launched its annual program, Brigada Eskwela last August 2022. The event aimed to establish stronger connections among stakeholders and prepare the school physically and system-wise for the school year 2022 - 2023.
Brigada Eskwela is a program of DepEd that aims to gather resources to fill in the needs of the school. The main purpose of the event is to establish camaraderie among the stakeholders and the school administration, prepare the school physically, and system-wise for the school year, and ensure that the school is ready to cater to the students.
Baras - Baras High School Campus is one of the implementors of the program. The event started in August 1 and lasted until August 26. The focal person of the event, Sir Carl M. Fulloso, through the supervision of School Head, Dr. Mamerto L. Ragel, Jr., and together with the co-proponents, spearheaded the projects with the help of students, teachers, parents, and volunteers. The event’s highlight is the voluntary work of the stakeholders, which is
the heart of Brigada Eskwela. Many private individuals and groups came to the school to donate and give aid, such as cleaning the premises and feeding programs. “voluntarism and pagtutulungan” were the key messages during the event.
“Bilang first time humawak ng Brigada Eskwela, to be honest nung binigay sakin yung task, it’s a big pleasure for me kasi ang Brigada Eskwela is a big activity ng school kung saan kailangan mo ng maraming connections.
Brigada Eskwela is an experience that teaches people how to be resourceful, how to connect with different organizations, and how to be bold and have initiative.
” He added.
Baras-Baras High School won third place under the large category of the Education Week of the Tarlac City Schools Division. Brigada Eskwela was indeed a success, as it achieved its goal of preparing the school for the upcoming school year and building stronger connections among stakeholders.

A Way toward burnout
Unintentionally, students become crammed with deadlines to a point where searching for the benefit of those requirements seemed unnecessary to be questioned.
When students hear the word required, they wouldn’t ask why and how that would contribute to their knowledge in regard with a certain subject it is assigned to. No, unfortunately, I have spent 12 years in the academe, only to understand that the first and foremost question a student would pop up saying to their teacher, would fairly lead to “When should it be submitted?”. They won’t question its purpose--at least, not at first,
With this, the Department of Education (DepEd), established a no-homework policy with its issuance of the “Guidelines on Giving Homework or Assignment to All Public Elementary School Pupils,” otherwise known as DepEd Memorandum No. 392, series 2010. Where the said issuance reiterates its commitment to the holistic development of learners.
But even the said House bill did not serve its end, permanently. The problem with overloading the students with requirements still stands unshakable until now.
Undoubtedly, no one wishes to fail for missing a deadline or feeling left out among a class that’s submitting their outputs collectively. Note that anyone can choose to
Papers piling up the desk could bar us more than any concrete wall out of chains and bricks.
Unfortunately, as seen in the culture of our academics, meeting the requirements undisputedly, and finishing up any work on time are recognized as a reputable discipline and even intelligence. Afterall, nobody wants to be labeled a failure for not submitting on time. The moment another thing becomes a requirement, students, specifically, those who thrive for academic validations or the grade conscious, steer into the less narrow road, and simply comply with what’s due. Whereas they are already accustomed to holding these accurate expectations in their studies, because
such beliefs are always taught to lead to rewarding outcomes.
Away from distance learning
We’ve run past ahead the distance learning obstacles, and the adjustment from having to shift from modular to in person classes. Now recognized as trailblazers of those adversaries, still, we’re left facing the same strain in our academics---the unceasing requirements of nothing substantial to gain for, except numbers on papers that would cost too much if not accomplished at the given timeframe. Not to mention, the outputs, which instructions do not align to its purpose, more so, with the students’ learning development.
A study led by Dr. Mollie Galloway, who tackles overloading students with requirements, argued that academic stress wasn’t the only thing at stake, but it also takes a toll on students’ mental and physical health, which, unsurprisingly, hinders the children’s learning. He then added that any work assigned to students should have a clear purpose and benefit, and must be designed to cultivate learning and growth.
But where will these students find the space for development when they are in fact bombarded with deadlines. Hence, exhausted, enough to depict a picture of a myriad of employees with lifeless eyes,
because their priority now is when to move on as soon as possible.
Be advised that there’s nothing wrong with being “efficient”, thus, finding ways on how to move on from one’s to-do list. Regardless, these cultures or rituals we encounter everyday at school and in doing our homeworks is not just centered on our private sphere or our personal preferences on how much we want to get the work done. This is rather a deep rooted problem in our system, which we have been calling out for years meanwhile conforming to anyway. To paint a picture, think of it as your friend ranting about his\ her workload almost everyday, yet still finishing it on time and even doing surprisingly quality work.
Away from the cycle
Busy work is a waste of time for all of us—students and teachers alike. In 2019, Deputy Speaker and Sorsogon Representative Evelina Escudero has filed House Bill 3611 which obliges teachers not to give take-home assignments to students from kindergarten to Grade 12 to lighten their physical burden from carrying heavy bags to-and-from schools.
The bill also seeks to compel schools and teachers to implement a “more holistic and effective pedagogy” by conducting all lessons and activities in school.
be a slave of anything, which in this situation, is a high grade or merely a passing cue toward one’s next academic goal, but learn to not be inferior toward something you understand to be fully insubstantial. Take for instance, those famous requirements nowadays that turn into popularity contests. Which could have been fine with submitting directly to a teacher, but instead, for whatever reason you have to upload it on social media, or a group chat and accumulate–only heart reactions.
Or that countless assigned essays without the students gaining a reflection for, and do not even come back with notes or criticism. It’s just a surface level manifestation of an academic requirement to assure educators that the students are doing something “important”.
Taken as a whole, we cannot achieve nor strive for authentic learning opportunities when students are bombarded with countless requirements . As students, it is indeed difficult to not base off our achievements in meeting one’s requirements. It is hard to defy the rules of the game that may seem fine for others who display good management on things that others or yourself find hectic. But one should be able to identify a red line with academic requirements. First off, ask yourself, if the fixed deadline is enough to get the job done to begin with, if not, there’s no wrong with asking for an extension. Secondly, what is the purpose of the assignment? And lastly, how does the requirement benefit your growth?
Now recognized as trailblazers of those adversaries, still, we’re left facing the same strain in our academics - the unceasing requirements of nothing substantial to gain for...

The relationship between a teacher and a student plays a critical role in the academic success of the student. Teachers are experts in their fields, possessing knowledge that students may not have acquired yet. However, disagreements may arise between teachers and students, leading to arguments. This raises the question: is it wrong to argue with your teacher?
When students engage in healthy debates with their teachers, it does not necessarily mean they are disrespecting them or their authority. On the contrary, such debates can lead to a better understanding of the subject matter, as students learn how to think critically and develop their arguments. Additionally, it is essential to recognize that students have a right to express their opinions and engage in healthy debates, while teachers can benefit from hearing alternative viewpoints and perspectives.
Furthermore, constructive disagreements between teachers and students can lead to a more dynamic and engaging classroom environment. When students feel that their opinions and perspectives are valued, they are more likely to actively participate in discussions and offer their unique insights. This results in a more diverse range of
viewpoints and a more enriching educational experience for all. Such healthy exchanges between teachers and students can also help to foster critical thinking and intellectual curiosity, which are essential skills for academic and professional success.
It is important to note that there is a difference between respectful disagree-
gage in healthy debates while still respecting the teacher’s position of authority.
Moreover, it is important to consider the context in which the argument occurs. In a classroom setting, the teacher has the responsibility to maintain order and ensure that all students have equal opportunities to learn. Disruptive behavior, such as shouting or interrupting, is unacceptable and can negatively impact the learning experience of others in the classroom. Students who feel that they cannot express their opinions respectfully should wait until after class to speak with their teacher privately. In this way, they can engage in a productive conversation without disrupting the learning environment for others.

The BBHS campus was abuzz with excitement and anticipation as students returned to in-person classes after a long twoyear hiatus from the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the return to school was not met with unanimous enthusiasm, as many students struggled to adjust to the new normal. The transition from distance-learning to in-person classes can be particularly daunting for students, as it requires them to re-acclimate to a structured routine and the social dynamics of the classroom. For some students, the abrupt shift can trigger feelings of anxiety, stress, or social awkwardness.

Using insults or aggressive language is never appropriate, and students should always strive to maintain a respectful manner. In this way, students can express their opinions and en-
It is not inherently wrong to argue with your teacher as long as it is done in a respectful and constructive manner. By engaging in healthy debates, students can learn to think critically and develop their arguments, while teachers can benefit from hearing alternative viewpoints and perspectives. However, students should also be mindful of the context and their behavior and avoid being confrontational or disruptive. Ultimately, a healthy dialogue between students and teachers can lead to a more profound understanding of the subject matter and a better learning experience.
The prolonged period of online learning and self-directed study during the pandemic has had a profound impact on the BBHSians’ learning culture. Many students have grown accustomed to the autonomy and convenience of online classes, which allow them to learn at their own pace and in their own time. As a result, some students may struggle to adapt to the rigidity and pace of traditional classroom instruction. The shift in learning culture has also affected the students’ attitudes and motivations towards education. Some students may have become disengaged or apathetic towards school, while others may have developed a newfound appreciation for the flexibility and freedom of online learning.
To facilitate a smooth transition back to in-person classes, it is important to provide students with a supportive and nurturing environment. Schools can provide access to counseling services, peer support groups, or extra academic resources to help students cope with the stress and challenges of returning to school. For example, schools can offer one-on-one counseling sessions, group therapy, or mindfulness workshops to promote emotional wellness. They can also create peer support groups, facilitated by teachers, counselors, or trained student leaders, to provide a safe and supportive space for students to connect with their peers, share their experiences, and receive emotional support. Schools can offer extra academic resources such as
In addition to providing a supportive and nurturing environment, schools can adopt new and innovative teaching methods to enhance student engagement and motivation. For example, teachers can use gamification techniques to make learning more engaging and fun. They can create educational games or quizzes to reinforce key concepts or create challenges or competitions to encourage student participation and motivation. Multimedia resources like videos, podcasts, or interactive simulations can also be used to make learning more interactive and engaging. These resources can be used to reinforce key concepts or introduce new topics in a dynamic and memorable way. Interactive group activities, such as group projects or discussions, can be used to foster collaboration and socialization among students. These activities can also help students develop important social skills like communication, teamwork, and leadership.
Returning to in-person classes after a twoyear hiatus from the pandemic is not always rainbows and sunshine. It can be a challenging and stressful experience for many students. However, by providing support and resources and embracing innovative teaching methods, schools can help students re-adjust to the traditional classroom setting and thrive in their learning journey. As BBHSians, we have a unique opportunity to embrace this challenge and rediscover the joys and benefits of in-person learning. By staying open-minded, supportive, and determined, we can overcome any obstacles and achieve our academic and personal goals.

To my students of grade 12- Orwell, When we embarked on this school year, none of us could have predicted the immense challenges that lay ahead. The world seemed to shift beneath our feet, and our virtual spaces transformed into the classroom we know and love—where we forged ahead, adapting to a new normal. The transition from face-to-face to online learning demanded flexibility, discipline, and determination. Yet, despite the obstacles—you have demonstrated your unwavering commitment to education.
Each one of you has displayed incredible courage, facing the unknown maybe not much with grace but definitely with full-on resilience. You have exemplified the spirit of learning when you step out of the comfort of having to learn through solely the internet and modular textbooks. You have discovered the power of adaptability, the value of self-motivation, and the strength of community. Your strength to keep going and succeed despite challenges shows who you truly are and what you’re capable of.
Now, as you step into the world beyond these walls, remember that this journey has equipped you with invaluable skills. You have learned to be independent problem solvers, and agents of change. You have experienced firsthand the power of human connection, even when physically apart, and pf course, the braving experience of having to transition from that. These are the qualities that will set you apart, that will propel you towards success in any path you choose.

Body shaming is a rampant issue that plagues the youth, particularly in Philippine schools. It’s appalling to see how young individuals are constantly bullied and teased because of their physical appearance. This toxic behavior leads to low self-esteem, body dissatisfaction, and depressive symptoms, which can significantly impact their mental health and daily lives.
It’s high time we take this issue seriously and put an end to it once and for all.

According to a study by Generose Billano from Sultan Kudarat State University Laboratory High School, appearance-based harassment among youth can lead to low self-esteem, body dissatisfaction, and depressive symptoms. In a world where darkness can shroud even the brightest of days, we are forced to confront the uncomfortable truth that many have endured the horrors of sexual harassment. The question lingers in the air like a delicate butterfly, fluttering its wings and stirring our souls: What would you do if you were sexually harassed? Would you stay silent and allow the shadows to consume you, or would you spread your wings and fight for the light? The answer is not easy, but it is necessary, for in our response lies the hope for a brighter tomorrow.
Sexual harassment contributes significantly to people’s trauma. Most individuals who have experienced sexual harassment suffer from traumatic endings. According to Amira Van Leeuwen (2020) from the University Star, roughly 81% of women and 43% of men have experienced some form of sexual harassment throughout their lifetime. Serina Floyd (2019) from ACOG says that the terms “rape” and “sexual assault” are sometimes used interchangeably, and the legal definitions of both terms vary from state to state.
Sexual harassment can encompass physical, verbal, and emotional actions. People can experience harassment in many ways, but sometimes, they choose to remain silent due to trauma, fear that no one would believe them, or unawareness that they are being harassed. For young victims, they might think that it is a sort of game, a secret game.
Most of the time, people get sexually harassed by their relatives, such as uncles, aunts, grandparents, siblings, and even parents. Girls are more susceptible to abuse and frequently get sexually harassed. But why do some victims keep their mouths closed? Mostly, the family of the victims are manipulators. They will tell the victims to keep quiet because it will only ruin their family’s reputation. Due to all these cultural influences, child sexual harassment instances are a persistent and ongoing problem in the nation. The majority of victims embrace a culture of quiet and endure their suffering in silence. It has been noted that most incest cases take place in the family home when the victim is alone.
own appearance in comparison to another person’s, judging another person’s appearance in front of them, and engaging in other forms of body shaming are all harmful behaviors. These actions can lead to feelings of shame and comparison and perpetuate the idea that people should be judged based solely on their physical appearance.
body shaming has become a growing concern among Filipino youth. Social media has made it easier for people to engage in body shaming anonymously and without fear of repercussions. According to a survey by the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group, cyberbullying cases in the Philippines increased by 50% in 2020, with body shaming being a common form of online harassment. This is unacceptable and needs to be addressed urgently. It is crucial to raise awareness about the harmful effects of body shaming and promote body positivity and acceptance to combat this issue
Giving negative comments about someone’s body size or shape can be extremely harmful to them, possibly resulting in low self-esteem, anger, self-harm, or even mental health disorders. Criticizing your

MIKAELLA H. LUANZON Managing EditorAs a society, we need to recognize the importance of body positivity and promote it at all levels. Adults, especially parents and educators, should set a good example by avoiding criticism and emphasizing well-being and nutrition. Filipino schools need to implement programs that focus on mental health, self-love, and acceptance. We should encourage positivity, embrace our beauty regardless of our skin tone, body size, or skin type, and ban or remove any content that promotes body shaming or degrades someone’s appearance. In conclusion, it’s time to take a stand against body shaming and create a safe space where everyone can feel comfortable in their own skin.
And remember, “if it’s not your body, commenting about it is a privilege you earn -- not a right.”
My experience, along with other women like me, makes me see the dark and rough path for girls who just want to become comfortable in their own surroundings or environment. Some of my male classmates asked me questions that made me feel uncomfortable, such as, “Are your boobs real?” or they would say, “Hey, I think your boobs are soft.” or “Your ass seems so soft, can I touch it?” These questions made me feel very uncomfortable, especially when hearing them from boys. They think sexualizing is a joke or they are unaware that saying those things might result in a serious offense of sexual
de-Dehins at Sibat (alis)-Batsi.
harassment. My friend got into the same situation as mine; they even asked her if they could do wrestling with her on the bed. Also, whenever she is dancing, they call her things that are not pleasant and make her uncomfortable. They think they are cool for being perverts in school. They think that they are cool by sexually harassing someone. Many of us experience those kinds of situations, and sometimes, we just let them say those things.
Regarding young victims, two out of every three victims do not report the crime because they are unaware that they are experiencing sexual harassment due to a lack of general education and particularly sex education. People sometimes do not know that they are being sexually harassed because they think that doing things like that is okay. There is also
a fear that something bad might happen to them or the victim’s family or friends because of the threats that they got from someone who harassed them. Also, the fear that she or he might ruin their family’s morality if the victim publicizes the issue or the crime that her or his family has done to the victim. The fact that the harassment is being committed by individuals they trust and who are meant to be protecting them only makes this tragedy worse.
It’s crucial to be more open about these kinds of issues. Sexual harassment is not a simple matter, but rather a serious crime. It’s important to recognize that even small actions or words can have a significant impact on others and may trigger traumas. Educating ourselves about sexual harassment and focusing on sexual harassment cases is crucial. We need to spread awareness that sexual harassment is a crime that should never be committed against anyone. If you feel uncomfortable due to someone’s actions or words, it’s important to speak out and stand up for yourself. By letting them know that you felt uncomfortable and did not appreciate their behavior, you are sending a strong message that their actions were not acceptable. If you don’t voice your concerns and let them sexually harass you, who will stand up for you? Additionally, by not speaking out, they may continue to harass others as well. It’s essential to be brave and speak out against sexual harassment. Do not let fear invade your freedom, and don’t allow them to get away with harassing you. If you don’t speak up, you’ll be the one who suffers, haunted by the situation. Be a role model for others who have experienced or are experiencing the same situation as you. Stand up for yourself, inspire and motivate others to speak out for themselves as well.

Laughter is the best medicine, or so they say. But what happens when a joke goes too far? In today’s society, humor can be a tricky topic to navigate. What one person finds funny, another may find offensive. As a result, there is a constant debate about the appropriateness of certain jokes. And when it comes to the phrase “Joke lang po ser,” it seems to have become a common cover-up for students who have crossed the line.
Over time, we as students who become close to our teachers or have a good relationship with them may forget the boundaries that should not be crossed. We may joke around with them like we do with our friends on the street. However, it’s important to remember that our teachers are not the same age as us, and while they may need to
catch our attention to get along with us, they also deserve our respect. Sometimes, with the passage of time, we forget the manners that we should have shown them from the very start.
“Ser time na”
Murmur of students when the teacher has gone past the allotted time for the lecture, but the discussion is not yet over.
SStudents use the phrase “Joke lang ser” after telling offensive or inappropriate and out-of-place jokes to teachers to avoid the awkwardness that may arise. This behavior is not uncommon, as many students who become close to their teachers or have a good relationship with them may forget the line that should not be crossed between joking around and being offensive. According to a survey by the American Psychological Association, humor can be a coping mechanism for students in stressful situations, such
In our science classes, we learned about the wonders of machines designed to make our work easier. But as innovation surges forward, it’s difficult to imagine just how much easier things can get. What if we could create documents or artwork that typically takes days to complete, in just a matter of minutes? This is the power of automation, and it’s a world that we can now enter.
The world of education is one that’s always welcoming to innovation. With each new generation of students entering academia, teachers must continually adapt and keep up with the ever-changing trends of each school year. And this year, the star of the show is none other than ChatGPT, a powerful tool of automation.
Enter the World of ChatGPT
ChatGPT is a powerful artificial intelligence (AI) system developed by OpenAI, in hopes of automating simple tasks and workflows, generating social media content, writing essays, and explaining complicated concepts - all in a matter of minutes. Sounds amazing, right? But wait - writing essays? Explaining complicated concepts? Generating social media content? These are some of the outputs expected from students of the 21st-century learning process.
What does this mean in the field of learning?
Imagine this tool in the hands of students. A
simple homework of writing an academic paper that usually takes days to complete, done in seconds. An outline for a project, done in seconds. An idea for a video project, even a synthesis of a paragraph - all done in a matter of seconds.
Seconds to Disaster or Success?
The philosopher René Descartes once said, “I think, therefore I am.” It’s a famous quote that signifies how the body can only be sensed if the mind is able to sense it - one exists because the mind deems it to exist. In the context of the usage of ChatGPT, can a teacher regard a student’s output as existing if the student’s mind did not make it?
Despite its impressive power, ChatGPT still has its limitations. In the hands of a student, it simply cannot replace the human intuition necessary for truly exceptional work. An essay generated by ChatGPT in mere seconds cannot be understood by a student just as quickly. After all, even ChatGPT requires human-made prompts to create its content. Raw intelligence is a quality unique to humans, not machines. This means that teachers must be vigilant in assessing their students’ grasp of the material, for its only through their explanations that their authentic understanding can truly shine.

as being in a classroom with high academic demands. However, there is a fine line between being funny and being offensive, and teachers have a responsibility to maintain a respectful and appropriate learning environment. Sometimes, teachers may attempt to get along with their students to avoid feeling uncomfortable and disrespected. This can lead to a breakdown of the respect and boundaries that should be maintained in the teacher-student relationship, and it is important for both parties to be aware of this dynamic.
To begin with, it is critical to recognize that teachers are individuals who have dedicated their lives to educating and nurturing young minds and should not be offended by students. They are mentors and role models who deserve our respect and gratitude, in addition to being authority figures.
It is not only inappropriate but also disrespectful to address them with inappropriate jokes. Doing so creates an unpleasant environment in the classroom and can impair the teacher’s ability to teach effectively and maintain focus. It may also result in disciplinary action being taken against the students involved.
While it is understandable that students may use jokes to lighten the mood or
break the ice, there is a line that should not be crossed. Jokes that are hurtful, demeaning, or offensive, regardless of intent, should never be used, especially when directed at a teacher.
Students who make inappropriate jokes about teachers should think about their actions and the impact they have on others. They should take responsibility for their behavior and apologize for any offense they may have caused. Furthermore, they should strive to learn from their mistakes and be more respectful and considerate in the future.
As students, we must recognize that teachers are not only our mentors and role models, but also dedicated professionals who have committed their lives to educating and nurturing young minds. It is essential to show them respect and consideration, especially when it comes to making jokes. Inappropriate and offensive jokes can create an unpleasant and uncomfortable atmosphere in the classroom, which can impair the teacher’s ability to teach effectively and focus. By treating teachers with respect and consideration, we can create a positive learning environment that benefits everyone involved.
“Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.”
This familiar childhood phrase teaches us to be resilient in the face of hurtful words. However, as we grow older, we come to realize that words do indeed have the power to impact us emotionally and mentally. This is especially true when it comes to criticism, particularly in a school setting where our academic performance is closely scrutinized. It can be tough to hear, especially when it feels like a personal attack on our abilities and character.
It is crucial for students to understand that there is always room for improvement, not only in academic performance but also in their behavior, personality, and thinking patterns. However, many students find it difficult to process criticisms and respond to them in ways that hinder their progress. Studies have shown that the way individuals react to criticism can be influenced by factors such as their level of self-esteem, personality traits, and cultural background.
Studies have shown that the way individuals react to criticism can be influenced by a variety of factors, such as their level of self-esteem, personality traits, and cultural background. For example, a student with high self-esteem, perceives criticism as an opportunity for growth and improvement.

Additionally, another study found that individuals with certain personality traits, such as neuroticism, were more likely to respond negatively to criticism and view it as a threat to their self-worth. Similarly, individuals not used to criticism in their household may have a more difficult time accepting criticism as it can be seen as a sign of disrespect.
However, it is essential to recognize that accepting criticism is an essential part of personal growth and development. Learning how to handle criticism effectively can help individuals improve their skills, knowledge, and overall well-being. In fact, research has shown that individuals who are open to criticism and feedback tend to have higher levels of job satisfaction, performance, and success.
One way to effectively handle criticism is to adopt a growth mindset. This mindset can help individuals view criticism as an opportunity for growth and improvement rather than a personal attack.
Additionally, it is crucial to approach criticism with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. Instead of becoming defensive or upset, try to listen to the feedback and understand the reasons behind it. This can help individuals identify areas for improvement and develop new skills and knowledge. Accepting criticism is an essential part of personal growth and development. While it

Avoidance of this step in the teaching process will render the students complacent and dependent on AI, limiting their growth mindset. In the future, it will blind them to the real goal of the teaching and learning process - to build the authenticity of the self in every student.
Authenticity and AI-thenticity
AI is here to stay because human beings shall continue to innovate. The progress of automation is inevitable, and despite
the looming danger brought by ChatGPT to students’ learning, as with matters of the heart, whatever the outcome may be, we must embrace it - wholeheartedly and intelligently. We must face the notion of making things easier for our students without compromising their authenticity.
The challenge is up to us, educators. Will we let machines set the pace for our students, or will we take charge and guide them in forging their works in accordance with what their thinking minds set them to be?

Ayon kay Dr.Mahar Lagmay,Executive Director,UP Resilience Institute and Noah Center: “There’s what we call as tipping points. A certain point may become irreversible. So they consider the increasing temperature of about 1.5 degrees Celsius, which we want to limit by 2030, hopefully much lower than that,to be able to prevent that tipping point from happening.”

Climate change has had a profound impact on the Philippines, resulting in significant changes in rainfall patterns, droughts, rising sea levels, and risks to public health. While the population has shown concern and taken action, unfortunately, some of the methods used to combat the issue have been found unproductive.
SUBSIDIZING FOSSIL FUELS.......................................................................................................
Subsidizing Fossil Fuels has been a long-standing policy of the Philippine government. These subsidies encourage the consumption of gasoline and diesel, two of the biggest contributors to greenhouse gas emissions, by making them cheaper and more accessible. This practice hinders the transition to cleaner energy
sources and exacerbates the effects of climate change. Coal, oil, and gas, the primary sources of fossil fuel, account for more than 75% of global greenhouse gas emissions and nearly 90% of global carbon dioxide emissions. Apart from harming the environment and public health, this policy also
Despite having significant potential for renewable energy such as solar and wind power, the Philippines still heavily relies on coal for electricity generation.
However, coal is one of the most polluting sources of energy and has a higher carbon footprint compared to sustainable alternatives. Despite this, coal remains a popular and relatively cheap energy source among many Filipinos. Unfortunately, air pollution from coal is the greatest environmental risk to human health in the Philippines, with coal contributing to about
60% of electricity production and being a major source of carbon dioxide emissions.
A previous Greenpeace report estimated that annual emissions from coal plants could lead to 2,400 Filipino deaths from heart disease, stroke, other cardiovascular diseases, and respiratory diseases. Due to these risks, the Filipino people have opposed the construction of new coal power plants.
has negative economic impacts, including inflexibility, market price fluctuations, and downward pressure on the balance of trade.
Deforestation is a major environmental issue in the Philippines, with forests being converted into agricultural land and urban areas. This has a significant impact on biodiversity and long-term food production.
Deforestation also contributes to floods, soil erosion, death, and property damage. When forests are cleared, they
release carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases, contributing to global warming. Forest losses and damage account for approximately 10% of global warming. Addressing deforestation is critical in the fight against the climate crisis, and immediate action is necessary.
The Philippines has a high dependence on private vehicles, which contribute significantly to air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. The lack of an efficient and reliable public transportation system discourages people from using it and contributes to the increase in private vehicle
use. As a result, the increase in the use of private vehicles means that the number of vehicles producing pollutant gases will also increase, which may cause respiratory diseases such as asthma in those exposed to it.
The Philippines’ deficient waste disposal system, particularly in handling plastics, contributes to greenhouse gas emissions and pollution.
The country has yet to fully address this issue, with inadequate waste management systems in place. This is due to factors such as ignorance, laziness, and greed. People are often unaware of proper waste disposal practices, and some disobey rules out of laziness or even burn tires and plastics for profit.
This negatively impacts our health, leading to lung disease, heart problems, skin irritation, breathing abnormalities, and more. Moreover, waste decomposition releases greenhouse gases into the air, causing air pollution and affecting our climate. The open burning of waste, such as rubber and plastic, further worsens the situation.
As one of the students in BarasBaras High School, how can we contibute in protecting our environment and stop climate change from progressing?
Here are some ways;First, educate yourself. Learn more about the causes and impacts of climate change and how it affects the Phillippines. Read up on the latest developments in renewable energy, sustainable transportation, and waste
management practices.
Second, reduce your carbon footprint. Reducing your carbon footprint means changing how you approach and participate in activities linked to producing greenhouse gasses, you can do this in your daily life by using energy-efficient light bulbs, turn off appliances when not in use,use reusable bags and water bottles and eat less meat.
Third, advocate for change. Use your voice to advertise policies and practices that’ s promoting sustainability and combat climate change. Start or participate in environmental-focused student organization, write to your local representatives or participate in climate strikes or rallies.
Fourth, support renewable energy, you can apply this by you can do this by using it yourself and advocating for its adoption in your community. Try to encourage your parents and your school to switch to renewable energy sources like solar panels.
Fifth, reduce waste. Reduce waste by practicing the 3Rs; reduce, reuse, recycle. Segregate your waste properly, compost food scraps, and recycle whenever possible. Advertise the implementation of sustainable waste management practices to your school
and community.
Lastly, plant trees. Trees absorb carbon dioxide from atmosphere and help reduce the damage of climate change. You can participate in tree-planting activities in your community or start your own tree-planting project.
Doing these will not stop climate change but it can help to stop it from progressing rapidly. It may look worthless and ineffective but it was actually a great help to our environment. Remember that doing something wether big or small is better that doing nothing at all.
This riveting game has exceeded my expectations not only because of its stunning graphics but also because of its intricate lore and the way it delivers the dialogues of every character. The lore is comparable to that of Pokemon, with a beautiful backstory that is not too difficult to understand. I particularly love the dialogue and quotes of each character, such as Zhongli’s quote “Osmanthus wine tastes the same as I remember… But where are those who share the memory?” This quote has a rich and deep meaning, as Zhongli is a God and immortal, and the people whom he shared the wine with are most likely dead or gone.
The game mechanics are well-designed, making it easy to level up, and the reward and gacha system is great. The graphics are splendid, from the movement of the characters to the skill effects, particles, and small details like grass. Sound also plays an important role in the game, with beautiful ambiance and amazing voice-overs for each character. It’s even better to play the game with headphones, as it feels like you’re inside the game.
Each character has its own playstyle and abilities, which is a great feature, as you can combine them with other character’s
There are also things that I dislike about this game, though, like the gacha system. As mentioned earlier, the gacha system is quite great, but there are some issues in this system. Most of the players are free to play or don’t purchase anything from the game itself, like primogems (which is the item used to get some characters or weapons, etc.). It’s quite unfair for the free-to-play players like me because some 5-star characters are very hard to get, and it will take a long time of saving primogems. Since this is a gacha, there is no guarantee that you will get the 5-star character that you want, which is very frustrating.
RANTAnother issue is the lag. Playing this game requires a high-spec device or computer, though it’s quite understandable since the game has spectacular graphics and requires a large amount of storage. There are some people who don’t have the budget to invest in a highspec device but still want to play. I played this game on my old phone, and it was super laggy, but that didn’t stop me from playing the game. It’s very frustrating to play this game on a laggy phone, but I guarantee it’s still enjoyable, though.
chon. In real life, God is the same because we don’t rely on God anymore, unlike in the Bible where Adam and Eve rely on God when they were in the Garden of Eden. But when they were exiled from the garden, they had no one to rely on but themselves. Just like in Genshin Impact, God stopped helping them, but they still believe in God. I highly suggest you guys try this game. It might be the best RPG game currently. I haven’t found a game that can compete with this game, especially in terms of graphics.
abilities to create a combo. You can switch your characters during the game and each character has its own story/backstory. For example, the main character, the “unknown” God, separated Aether (the main character) from his twin sibling, and he lost his power. He regains his power in the game with the help of the statue of the seven and the elements they represent, such as Anemo (Wind) and Geo (Rock). Each element that the main character or you will choose has its own different abilities and skills. However, this feature only works for the main character and not for any other characters.

The setting also gives me nostalgic vibes because of its simplicity, like the beautiful mountains of the game and the traditional or medieval type of buildings. It reminds me of how simple my life was when was a young boy. Not to mention, the ambiance is very relaxing and comforting.
Now, if we compare the relationship of the archons or gods to the mortals in the game to real life, they are pretty much the same, just like in the scene where Rex Lapis/Zhongli faked his own death to see if the mortals would survive without relying on him, but they still believe in the Geo Ar-

In the world of chess, there are kings and queens born to rule, but Bince Rafael Operanio was born to conquer the chessboard at the tender age of five. Like a knight in shining armor, his father Benrose Operanio taught him the game, and just like the “Mozart” of chess, Magnus Carlsen, Bince showed a natural talent for the game.
At six years old, Bince was discovered after winning the National Age Chess Group Kiddie category, held at the Albay Astrodome. Despite their financial struggles, Bince’s parents were able to support him, and last year, he brought home a gold trophy and four medals, including one gold, one silver, and two bronze, after defeating 20 chess players from different countries in an international tilt.
Bince’s talent in chess not only brought honor to his hometown but also helped his family. Due to the recognition he received, Bince was awarded cash incentives by the local government, and he became known as the “Pride of Oas.”
However, his journey to success wasn’t easy. Bince had to travel alone to Thailand for the competition because they couldn’t afford plane tickets. He and his father had to spend three nights at the airport, with benches as their bed. Despite the difficulties, Bince braved the first game without his father’s support and proved his worth on the chessboard.
In a Facebook post on November 13, 2022, Albay 3rd District Representative Fernando Cabredo shared the story of Bince’s journey and revealed that Bince would be considered a National Master when he turns ten.
Before the competition in Thai land, Bince’s parents searched for sponsorship so he could travel to the tournament. They may not have had a lot of material wealth, but Bince’s talent was priceless.
