eep into Quilting is a long arm machine quilting service operated by Michele Leep, former co-owner of The Cutting Table, which closed in May after flattened sales. Leep Into Quilting is located at 3070 S. Wentworth Ave., Leep’s home where she remodeled the basement to set up operations. In early December Leep was “pretty busy” and said she’s “probably booked through the 16th or 17th,” but encourages those who would like quilts by the holidays to call for an appointment. She offers a dozen or so types of quilt battings. Customers bring in the top and back and she quilts them together. It takes from a few hours to a few days to complete a project depending on the size of a quilt, Leep said. Many customers of The Cutting Table have followed to her business, she said, with many from outside the Bay View area. Leep Into Quilting accepts credit card payment. round was broken in November for the construction of the Cudahy Library Square Condominiums, one block south of Layton Avenue and just to the east of the Cudahy Family Library, 3500 Library Dr. As of early December, none of the units were pre-sold, said Larry Weiss, realtor for Coldwell Banker. “We’re working on two of them,” he said. The project will be built in three phases. The first phase will erect a 4-story, 30-unit building. Phase 2 is another 4-story, 30-unit building and phase 3 is four townhouse units. The second and third phases would likely be built simultaneously, Weiss said.

to a year had indicated “2006 occupancy.” But financing to begin construction was not obtained until late in 2006. The first phase is hoped to be completed by Aug. 1, 2007, Weiss said. The developer is Coach House Development Partners. Condo units are priced from $139,900 to $209,900, Weiss said. There are four different unit styles: 1-bedroom, 1-bath (810 square feet); 2-bedroom, 2-bath (1,005, 1,050 square feet); 2-bedroom, 2-bath corner (1,180 square feet); and 3bedroom, 3-bath, 2-story (1,615 square feet on 3rd and 4th floors). “I think the target market is going to be 21 to 45 years old. It would probably be a lot of local people,” Weiss said. “I think there might be some good investment opportunity,” he added, because of the prices. He said one potential customer often uses the airport.
