Dear Baxter Community, We are writing to thank you for the ways in which you have collaborated with us to make school a safe place to be this week. It has been good to be back together. Several of you have reached out, from your various places of experience, to share how we might improve our masking protocols in the school. We’ve heard from our students who have shared their research on masks and from parents, including those who work in medical and lab settings. We realize that this pandemic requires us all to be citizen scientists as we work to understand and to use emerging guidance. We acknowledge that we don’t know everything but are always operating from a position of wanting to keep our students and teachers safe while they focus on learning. After listening and after consulting with our school physician, we are here to reiterate that we believe it is safest to wear these masks, which are rated to be at least 90% effective : ● N95 ● KN95 ● KF94 ● Surgical mask for filtration with a well fitted cloth mask over We have KN95 and surgical masks available at the school. Please let us know if you need us to help you upgrade your mask. We greatly value the input of our community and appreciate the students and educators who have advocated for safer protocols during this surge. Thank you. We rely on your goodwill to keep everyone safe.
