Staff The Magic Lantern cinema project is still on track for a spring construction start. However, there have been some adjustments along the way. The plan early on was for the new five-screen cinema to be located on the west portion of the lot between Railway Avenue and 101st Street, beside the liquor store. But after some further tests done on the

downtown site, the footprint has changed. Tom Hutchinson, president of Magic Lantern Theatres, says the cinema will now occupy the corner of 11th Avenue and 101st Street on the east side of the lot. The parking lot is also being expanded and will now go on the west side next to Railway Avenue, instead of on the east side. The City also confirms the project is still slated for a spring start.
