WATER SAVING

RIM-EX TECHNOLOGY

VitrA water saving WCs, marked with this symbol, have a special bowl structure and are specifically designed to flush with both lower (2.5/4 litre) and typical (3/6 litre) water volumes. By using less water, whilst still delivering efficient flushing, these water saving WCs benefit you and the environment. All VitrA standard height wall-hung frames come with dual flushing function as standard in both 2.5/4 litre and 3/6 litre options.

Offering effortless cleaning and innovative, hygienic design. VitrA’s rimless WC pan eliminates the areas where germs gather and multiply, giving a superior level of hygiene.

WRAS

SPACE SAVING A wall-hung WC takes up less room than a conventional WC, and the concealed installation offers flexibility in confined spaces. The range of compact WCs have shorter projection, saving even more space.

The purpose of WRAS is to contribute to the protection of public health by preventing contamination of public water supplies and encouraging the efficient use of water by promoting and facilitating compliance with the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations and Scottish Byelaws.

ACCESSIBLE These products are wheelchair accessible and provide enhanced convenience in the bathroom.

THE ESSENCE OF VITRA

VitrA’s successful relationships with international designers have resulted in many accolades for the company.

A HISTORY OF INGENUITY VitrA’s rich heritage can be traced back to 1909, when renowned Turkish pharmacist Süleyman Ferit Eczacibaşi began producing bathing and cologne products at his pharmacy in Izmir.

Three decades later, his son, Dr Nejat Eczacibaşi, took the family business a step further by establishing a pharmaceutical

laboratory in Istanbul. The business continued to grow steadily, and by 1952 he had opened Turkey’s first modern pharmaceutical plant.

Within a few years, Eczacibaşi’s vision had grown further still, and with the establishment of Turkey’s first ceramic sanitaryware plant in 1958, VitrA was born.

This includes the Wallpaper Design Award for Best Bathroom, an Elle Décor Award, Good Design Award, Red Dot Design Award and no fewer than three iF product design awards for excellence in product and design quality.

INNOVATION EVOLUTION OF THE VITRA BRAND

Production of acrylic bathtubs and ceramic tiles began at the Tuzla plant.

Süleyman Ferit Bey, Dr. Nejat Eczacıbaşı’s father, is given the title of “Eczacıbaşı”.

Eczacıbaşı opens Turkey’s first production plant for ceramic sanitaryware.

Start of a $45.4m investment in the production plant at the Bozüyük complex to increase capacity by a further 20%.

VitrA opens its first sales and marketing offices outside of Turkey.

VitrA Bad (Germany) and VitrA UK Ltd. The VitrA brand was first adopted.

Dr. Nejat Eczacıbaşı establishes a pharmaceutical laboratory in Istanbul.

Eczacıbaşı inaugurates the first Turkish modern pharmaceutical plant in Istanbul.

Süleyman Ferit Bey buys the Sifa Pharmacy in Izmir and begins producing toothpaste, lotions and creams.

The Eczacıbaşı Building Products Division assembles all its R&D teams under one roof with the opening of the VitrA Innovation Centre at Bozuyuk.

The group opened its first brassware plant within its Bozüyük mega complex.

The Eczacıbaşı Group’s first ceramic factory in Bozüyük began production (over time this grew to become the Bozüyük mega complex).

V-care is launched – the new generation of shower toilet.

VitrA is an international brand, producing five million pieces of sanitaryware per year and exporting to 75 countries worldwide.

Eczacıbaşı invests in a second sanitaryware and ceramic tiles production line at the Bozüyük Building Products Complex. With this investment, VitrA has one of the world’s largest ceramic sanitaryware production facilities.

Istanbul range receives the Design Classic award by Pro Publishing.

VitrA’s rimless WC pan technology removes one of the most unhygienic aspects of traditional WC design, where hard-to-clean rims can harbour germs and allow them to multiply unchecked.

V-Box, by VitrA, is the new generation of standard and thermostatic shower solutions for concealed bath and shower mixers enabling up to three water outlets (bath spout, overhead shower or handshower).

The unique design of our Rim-ex pans incorporates a water diverter to direct the flush around the bowl, which can be removed easily for cleaning. Rim-ex is 95% more hygienic than standard WC pans*

Whether you are looking for a contemporary design in either square or round shape, there is a range suitable for any bathroom setting.

* Tests undertaken by the Akdeniz University, Turkey show VitrA Rim-ex WC pans are easier to clean and 95% more hygienic compared to standard WC pans.

SHOWER VALVE The shower valve controls the flow of water, similar to the tap on a basin. By concealing the shower valve behind the wall, this creates more space under the shower head making cleaning easier.

The manufacturing plants are equipped with specifically designed recycling systems to reduce raw material and power consumption.

Under the guidance of effective waste treatment methods implemented by the Eczacıbaşı Building Products Division, in 2017 optimal purifying technologies were developed to recover water. Today VitrA, part of the Building Products Division, consume 35% less water of production output.

For example, the 2.5/4 litre WC pan has been certified by the German LGA Institute and reduces water use by up to 60% compared to the single flush.

Temperatures of the ceramic kilns were also readjusted in the VitrA plant, reducing energy consumption by 15%.

With VitrA’s brassware equipped with an adjusting pin, special ceramic cartridges can be set to limit the amount of water released creating savings of up to 60%.

The same responsibility for natural resource conservation guides the group in the development of products for both residential and public use. So you know choosing a VitrA product means you are contributing to saving the worlds natural resources.

Finally, thermostatic bathtubs and shower mixers save water and power by eliminating the need to adjust hot and cold water until the desired temperature is achieved, ensuring reliable water flow temperatures.

SHOW ER SYSTEMS The shower is an important element in any bathroom and it is probably one of the hardest working elements of a bathroom design.

Shower systems will refresh and revitalise and with the choice of designs, there is a shower system perfect for your bathroom.

To help select the right look for your bathroom, VitrA have introduced five complete shower solutions. Each shower system conveniently brings together every working element needed to create a beautiful showering environment.

VitrA’s shower systems include a collection of hand showers with and without side rails, beautiful showerheads and shower columns all with the design credentials synonymous with the VitrA brand.

Choosing a shower system is one of the most important aspects of the bathroom design especially given the range of overhead and handshower styles to choose from.

V-BOX V-Box, by VitrA, is the new generation of standard and thermostatic shower solutions for concealed bath and shower mixers enabling up to 3 water outlets (bath spout, overhead shower or handshower).

There is also a choice of standard shower values but these do not regulate the water temperature so if someone turns on a tap elsewhere in the house the water from the shower may run too hot or too cold.

The shower valve (see right) controls the flow of water, similar to the tap on a basin. By concealing the shower valve behind the wall, this creates more space under the shower head making cleaning easier. V-Box can be trimmed down to fit behind the wall. With a minimum wall depth (including wall covering) of 110mm, you do not lose valuable room space with V-Box.

Diverters enable the flow of water to be switched from one outlet to another, for example to the shower head or handshower. V-Box diverters allow for 3-way outlets; bath spout, overhead shower and handshower.

SHOWER VALVE

V-Box also offers a choice of thermostatic and standard shower valves For the visible (exposed) part of the shower solution there is a choice of four styles; each with a full range of matching basin and bath fillers.

Thermostatic shower valves are designed to maintain the temperature of the water, preventing fluctuations in the water temperature. This is an important consideration for families where extremes in water temperature can be dangerous.

INSTALLATION WATER OUTLET OPTIONS 1-way: shower mixer, with adjustable water temperature control 2-way: water can be diverted to the shower head or to the bath. Water temperature can be adjusted using one controller. Hot and cold water feed separately into the concealed valve.

3-way: using a diverter the water can be directed to either the bath, shower head or handshower.

Once the water inlet pipes are connected and cleaned, the box is fitted to the wall using the multiple fixing points. Special design enables easy mounting on gypsum plate walls.

After connecting the water feeds the special V-Box design also allows for any debris that may have accumulated from the installation process to be flushed out.

To further protect the mechanism from humidity within the bathroom environment an insulating mattress is fitted. Additional sealing cuff protects the wall from humidity.

CHOOSING THE RIGHT SHOWER SYSTEM WITH V-BOX Whether you are looking for a contemporary design in either square or round shape, there is a range suitable for any bathroom setting.

After the tiling is completed the front of the box is trimmed to the correct depth and the appropriate brassware is then fitted.

V-Box can be used with brassware, enabling one, two or three way outlets. Within the compatible ranges there are bath mixers and bath/shower mixers (including thermostatic) and diverters. V-Box can be used with Suit, Minimax S and X-Line exposed parts, providing choice for consumers. All exposed parts, including the handles are made of metal.

Keeping a bathroom clean is so much easier with a wall-hung WC. All pipework, usually a haven for dust, is completely concealed, and with the WC pan fixed above the floor, it’s so much easier to keep the floor clean.

Not only is the cistern concealed behind a wall, but it’s also manufactured with a specially-engineered fill valve, and lined with insulating styrofoam to keep filling noise to an absolute minimum.

An overflow pipe located within the valve acts as a safety device. Overflow pipes are tested to ensure they can cope even in high water pressure areas.

A wall-hung WC takes up less room than a conventional WC, providing greater flexibility where space is at a premium. In addition, the tidier arrangement, with more available floor space, also creates the impression of a larger bathroom.

The dual-flush action for both the 8cm and the 12cm wall-hung frames operates at 2.5/4 litres or 3/6 litres, resulting in as much as 70% reduced water consumption, benefiting both you and the environment.

Our cisterns undergo quality control testing to ensure that they meet international standards for minimum flush volume and flow rate.

The filling valve is the system that fills the cistern with water. The filling valve is checked in VitrA labs for “water-tightness” via accelerated life testing 200,000 times. The filters above the filling valve eliminate the risk of clogging, ensuring durability and a long lifetime. New VitrA filling systems ensure fast and silent filling.
