Whether you are a college-leaver or mature student, we offer higher level programmes so that you can study close to home while achieving your university ambitions.

From entry level Access to Higher Education courses, to Higher National Certificates and foundation degrees, our courses are delivered in our dedicated University Centre where you’ll have access to adult-only learning spaces with all the latest technology that you’d expect at BCoT.

We offer outstanding personalised support at the College to ensure that you make the most of your opportunities with us and are able to progress onto a degree study programme, or secure a job in your chosen field.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Level 4

A level 4 qualification is equivalent to the first year of a bachelors degree.

You’ll need GCSEs at grade C/4 or above in English and maths and a relevant level 3 qualification.

Level 5

A level 5 qualification is equivalent to the first year of a bachelors degree.

You’ll need GCSEs at grade C/4 or above in English and maths and a relevant level 3 qualification (A level, BTEC or HNC).

Level 6

A level 6 qualification is equivalent to a bachelors degree.

You’ll need GCSEs at grade C/4 or above in English and maths and a relevant level 4 qualification (foundation degree, HND).

Level 7

A level 7 qualification is equivalent to a postgraduate diploma/masters degree.

You’ll need GCSEs at grade C/4 or above in English and maths and a relevant level 6 qualification (bachelors degree).

Paying for your course

If you’re aged 19 or over (as of 31 August 2024) you’ll usually need to pay tuition, exam and registration fees.

There are several ways to get help with the cost of your course and you could be eligible for the following:

L An Advanced Learner Loan

These may be available on eligible Level 3 to Level 6 courses.

HE Higher Education Loans. These may be available for our HNC, HND, Foundation Degree and Level 5 Education courses.

Student support

To help you achieve and enjoy your time at BCoT, our dedicated support team is on hand to help with any questions, queries or worries you may have.

We also have onsite counsellors and a nurse, study skills sessions, specialist support for students with dyslexia, Asperger’s Syndrome or other learning differences.

GETTING TO THE UNIVERSITY CENTRE

Located on our Northsite on Worting Road, the University Centre is easily accessible by road and public transport.

Travelling by car

From Junction 6 of M3

At Black Dam roundabout take the first exit, joining the A30 Ringway South. After one mile, go straight over the roundabout, staying on the Ringway. After a mile, at Winchester Road roundabout, take the second exit, joining Ringway West. Very shortly, take the slip road on the left. At the top of the slip road, turn right onto Worting Road. BCoT is a quarter of a mile.

From Junction 7 of M3

Follow signs for Basingstoke town centre for approximately three miles and go over three roundabouts. As you pass Basingstoke Football Club on the left, keep in the left-hand lane. At the next roundabout take the first exit, joining the Ringway West. Very shortly, take the slip road on the left. At the top of the slip road, turn right onto Worting Road. BCoT is a quarter of a mile.

Travelling by train

Walking from Basingstoke Railway Station: Make your way to Festival Place Shopping Centre. Turn right out of Festival Place near the Sports Centre into Church Street. Go through

the underpass and into Flaxfield Road. At the junction with Sarum Hill, turn right into Worting Road. BCoT is situated on both sides of the road. The walk takes approximately 10 minutesa mile.

Travelling by bus

The bus station is in Festival Place Shopping Centre, go to stop J, the journey takes about 6 minutes, there is a bus stop outside the college.

Stagecoach is the local bus operator and runs various bus services - timetable can be found at Stagecoachbus.com

On-site parking

Get a parking permit for just £6 a month and park at College. Car parking is strictly limited to students living outside of the Basingstoke area. If you live in Basingstoke, parking is only available to full-time students aged 19 or over. Car parking charges apply.
