PROJECT BRIEF The Glassmakers guild, considers how to harness the special light of the south-facing riverside location, and to create memorable and meaningful qualities of light.

The building will also invite consideration of thermal distribution.

Its primary uses will be: -Exhibiting and appreciating glass artefacts in various light conditions -Performing regular demonstrations of glassmaking processes for working on and perfecting the forming of liquid glass.

-Accomodating temporary artists and student groups.

-Welcoming the public into a journey of the building’s purpose.

THE GLASGOW LOOKING GLASS | EDINBURGH

PROJECT BRIEF This project brings more awareness into the city of edinburgh for comics and its significant history towards the city. Providing a comic bookclub to unite those that gather in city to celebrate its history and learn for the future. Moreover, a gallery to bring awareness to tourists and residents. My main 3 activities includes having a casual bookshop, flexible workshops, and a silent archive.

The Glasgow Looking Glass, published in 1826, was arguably the first comic magazine. A satirical publication, later known as The Northern Looking Glass, it lampooned the fashions and politics of the times. It had most of the elements that make up the modern comic, including pictures with captions that display a continuous narrative told often in installments, and the use of speech bubbles, satire and caricature.

BRIEF For my design brief I was mostly inspired by the comical illustrations made by Richard Mc Guire.

The site is located amist the busy routes of Edinburgh in which would like to frame routes and views using its architecture.

My aim is to create a space in which the comical artists can call a hub

Archive Room This project is a bookclub that features 4 main activities which are: Workshops, Archive room, Exhibition, and Bookshop. Its purpose is to provide awareness into comics and to unite Edinburgh’s comic lovers into an intimate social space and welcome its new learners.

Architecture and Welling: How does Maggies Centre’s Interior Spatial Quality Enhance Mental Wellbeing and Support Care ?

The link between architecture, human behaviour and general well-being has been extensively studied, over the years, by different researchers. Apart from the core structure of the built environment, interior design also influences spatial quality and mental wellness. The influence of architecture is likely to emerge in enhancing the psychological responses of patients to diagnoses, for instance, coping behaviour, resilience and hope. This study aims to examine three branches of Maggie’s Care Centres – Nottingham, Manchester and Newcastle in order to identify how light, colour and material architectural elements in the facilities impact mental wellbeing and support care.

-Methodology19

To facilitate undertaking the research, a case study methodology was adopted, whereby, I have visited three different Maggie’s Centres – Nottingham, Manchester and Newcastle. While there are numerous centres distributed in different parts of the UK, the three sites were selected due to the easier logistics of accessing them. Furthermore, since I was interested in collecting data pertaining to the therapeutic architectural aspects of each centre, data would be collected through the observation technique by taking digital photos. Related literature maintained in the centres was also examined. Justification for the adopting the observation data collection technique was that, it enabled me to easily capture the various architectural features that were adopted. With the insight from literature review regarding the impact of daylight, colour and materiality and spatial organisation on patient wellbeing Each of the centres has focused on the delivery of a particular therapeutic feeling through intentional architectural elements. However, a confluence observed among the different centres regards their adoption of daylight, spatial organisation and predominant use of wood construction material.

ARTWORKS - LEISURE My passion for Art has always been the fuel to my designs. I believe that creativity creates special spaces in Architecture for the users. I practice this by creating digital art to aid in my graphics skills, and painting or creating visuals of moments a user can be in which can later on influence the way i create or conceptualise a design.

The artwork above was for a DGDA competition for the reception of the Lobby. Fully bespoke to celebrate the modern and the traditional essence of saudi’s essence.

I have recently done a commission for a 1M follower TikTok influencer named: Mohamed Sweidan for his instagram page and as requested he was looking to integrate his arabic and english name together in a simple logo.

BRANDED LUXURY HOTELS - HOSPITALITY During my internship i had a great opportunity to work on high end worked on various project scopes specficially high end hospitality interiors. I applied my photoshopshop skills and learned new design techniques. I have made a contribution to the visuals below such as: visual packages, photoshopping, cad drafted plans, elevations and items along with photoshop rendering such as the image on the right.

The image on the right has examples of moodboard work i have put together to create a feel of the space. Moreover i have created the design of the ceiling in one of the renders through photoshop for the visualiser to implement.

Below are renders i have contributed to by creating visual packages for visualisers along with conceptual development with the team and drafting work with photoshopping before submitting.

I have been responsible to create concepts, form vsuals with visualisers and picking out ff&e. This exposure has made me more confident in design, noticing the details which anchors my design concepts.

I’ve attended meetings with clients and site visits for measurements and context awareness. Throughout my experience i have been tested by my abilities and skillsets to create and submit projects on the agreed deadlines which has been successfully delivered.

My priority is to learn and understand more about design, breaking and creating boundaries which creates a special feeling to the spaces users can experience.
