LIBRARY NEWS easier – you can scan book barcodes after reading for quick logging. Can anyone really read 1,000 books before Kindergarten? Yes! By sharing just one picture book each day with your child, you will read 365 in one year, and reach your goal in just 3 years. Read 2-3 books each day and you can reach the 1,000 book goal within one year! Can I log the same book more than once? Yes. Research shows that repeated exposure to a story strengthens vocabulary skills, among other developmental benefits.

We picked five stellar books. Now you decide which will be the champion in our community-wide Mock Caldecott Vote! Check out a Mock Caldecott Kit, stocked with the five books and everything you need for a fantastic book discussion with friends, family, or classmates, in-person or virtual. Recommended for ages 6 and up. All are welcome to participate — including adults! Return your ballot when your return your Kit. Many Library services remain available, including the exciting online programs you will find in this guide! If you enjoy our books, magazines, and DVDs, request them through the Library Catalog. Choose the Library as your pick-up location and then use our convenient Parking Lot Pick-Up service: your items will be safely delivered right to your vehicle. Or, request Borrow By Mail, or delivery to our automated pick-up lockers.
