Barossa Bowland helps us out on weekends with general duties such as assisting on the front desk, clearing and cleaning tables and rubbish clearing and is continually learning new skills.

Andrea, Deb, David, Lauren, Andrew, Liam, Ryan, Miranda and Matthew. Which family members work in the business, what is their role? Andrew and Deb manage and share the everyday running of the business together. Deb also takes care of the book-keeping and admin tasks as well as stock control whilst Andrew works on much of the behind the scenes planning and organisation for future endeavours combined with the maintenance of both the machines and grounds. He also oversees our OH&S for the business. Our son, David assists us both with our tasks and decision making as well as the general running of the business – he is also one of our main wood oven pizza cooks. Our daughter, Lauren is a qualified graphic designer and works one day a week as our main designer of our web page, social media and she also handles our advertising and brochures. Our youngest son Ryan, who has autism,

We all bring our own strengths to the business which has worked really well for us. We also have a son Matt, who isn’t involved in the business but loves to come and have a bowl!

What are the challenges of working with family? We are fortunate to have a good working relationship – in saying that, we are all different personalities so we don’t always agree!

We have learnt to respect each others differences and appreciate our individual strengths. The biggest challenge for me is running a business that is open 7 days a week – it makes getting together as a family outside of work extremely difficult so quality time for us, our children and their partners is special.

We are really blessed with an awesome crew of staff who are like family – they support us and make coming to work each day something to look forward to. They have enabled us to celebrate some significant family occasions together such as weddings, engagements and 21st birthdays which can be difficult in our business.
