»» A brand new, first-time GRANDMA to a beautiful granddaughter born October 2018

I AM »» A native of Chiba, Japan, but have lived in the states more than 20 years »» A classically trained conductor and pianist »» Married to a beautiful American wife, Kelley, with three cat children, Mick, Misha and Miyako »» A mentor to a Dominican music student (a.k.a. our “son,” Manuel) who is now studying in Spain »» A lover of good food like Ramen and Katsudon »» Frequently traveling to Japan (3-5 times a year) for work and fun »» An avid reader of Haruki Murakami’s novels »» A half-marathoner »» A lover of soccer, but don’t really get American football – somebody teach me! »» A semi-annual traveler to Dominican Republic to conduct youth orchestras in Santo Domingo

»» A father and husband who relishes in the accomplishments of our two adult sons
