Collette Labey together with her helpers staged yet another successful event, ‘The Forest’ themed Ball in November, raising in excess of £18,000. This was the fifth event organised by her with the 300 people attending enjoying a most spectacular evening. The total raised by Collette since 2012, is in excess of £100,000 and she intends to hold another Ball in the latter part of next year. For those people who are interested in attending and to avoid disappointment, the charity recommends that you purchase your tickets immediately they become available. Bill O’Brien, chairman of Diabetes Jersey commented, “ Over the past decade, Collette has devoted so much time and energy to support the charity in several ways. It is not just a matter of selling tickets for the event as the preparation commences some 18 months in advance. Together with friends who help in a variety of ways, Collette ensures that all of these events are very successful and for that, the charity is extremely grateful”. Collette added, “I would like to thank all those who supported the event, whether it be attending the Ball, the buying of raffle tickets or donating auction lots and, of course, everyone who donated prizes. I am now working with my team including Sheer Bliss to bring you another Ball in 2023. The theme is already decided and it’s going to be very colourful.”
