Player Stats PJ 11 years, 122 games. Position – Defender Andrew 13 years, nearly 100 games. Position – Full Forward Richard 15 years. Position – Backline What’s so good about the club? PJ: They are nice people and friendly. Nice coaches and I like the players. I travel about an hour to get there. Andrew: They are friendly people, our coaches Nick and Jordi are great. The team listens to them, and we make good friends there. Richard: Friendly staff, good footy team, the coaches are really lovely and helpful. What do you love about footy? PJ: I love the fans cheering. A: I just love the game, love winning! Group photo is good. R: Making new friends, they are a good bunch of guys to play with. I wanted to play footy after PJ started.
Photo of Ben by SANFL
Tell us about training PJ: Once a week we train with the A & B grade and we hang out together in the club after playing. We partied at the club after the grand final. A: Training was good, we started early in February, then the season started in mid-April. The A grade train with us – they are nice people. We have tea there after training sometimes, that’s how we have this good bond. R: We train on Tuesday nights with A & B grade, they also come and watch us play. What was the highlight of the grand final? PJ: The atmosphere and people taking lots of photos of us. It’s hard to believe winning two in a row. I am proud of myself.
Kenilworth Football Club Kenilworth Football Club in St Mary’s is known for its warm and welcoming atmosphere, embracing diversity, integrity and respect, and creating a sense of family. Part of the SANFL APM Inclusive League, Kenilworth is proud to be home to a strong and vibrant men’s inclusive team. Barkuma clients and club players PJ, Andrew, Richard and Ben all shared the special moment the Kenilworth Kookaburras (the Kookas) won back-to-back premierships in 2023. We chatted to them about what they love about footy and the club. A: We loved it all. We kept them scoreless in the first quarter, in the second quarter we kicked away again. In the third and fourth quarter we let them score. Hopefully next year we can go for third, fingers crossed. Trying to kick a goal, I got a fat lip! R: Winning the premiership. I felt proud we did it for our club. Why should other people try footy? PJ: They should have a go, have the experience. Come to Kenilworth and enjoy the journey. Barkuma is our main sponsor. A: We’d like to have more people join. If they want to come out and try we can teach them. Come out to pre-season and try out with us premiers. R: Footy is a good sport, helps keep you fit. The Buzz

Fasta Pasta By Irene
Irene’s Verdict
Fasta Pasta has had a passion for fresh pasta since 1982. Starting as a small restaurant in Adelaide, Fasta Pasta has expanded to Queensland and Victoria as a renowned Italian restaurant franchise. They aim to provide affordable, delectable family meals in a warm and inviting setting.
“Always good food and great customer service.”
By Irene
Which restaurant did you dine at? Fasta Pasta Gawler, Cnr Lyndoch Rd and High St, Gawler What dishes and drinks did you try? Lemon, Lime and Bitters is my favourite drink, and I also enjoy a glass of Moscato. This time I ordered pizza with the lot. I also like the Verdure Pasta with broccoli and chilli. I like the shorter pastas, penne, as they are easier to eat. And I always get garlic bread to dip in the sauce at the end! The food always looks good with parsley on the top and is tasty. How would you rate the service provided by the staff? We are regulars, and the waitresses know us. They bring bread and water to the table when you arrive. It’s table service so you don’t have to get up until you pay your bill at the end. We don’t have to wait long for the food to arrive.

10/10 Food 10/10 Customer Service 9/10 Value
Are the prices reasonable? Prices are very good for what you get. Often it’s too much for me to eat, so I take leftovers home. There are specials on the day as well as lunch specials and seniors menu. How clean and tidy was the restaurant? The staff have good hygiene, they wipe the tables regularly. The toilets are clean and fancy. Was the restaurant crowded, or noisy? It’s busy on the weekend and school holidays. We go on a Thursday when it is quieter. How easy is it to get to Fasta Pasta Gawler using public transportation? The train stops at Gawler Central, then it’s only a 5-minute walk. Did the restaurant have facilities for guests with disabilities? Yes, a ramp and accessible toilets to make life easier.
Irene’s top pick: Prawn Linguini and Garlic Bread
Would you recommend this restaurant to others? Yes, it’s great every now and then, you don’t need a special occasion to come.

Holey Moley Golf By Bart Holey Moley, located at Level 1/162 – 170 Pulteney St, Adelaide, is a great place and opportunity to catch up with friends and chill out. You can play retro games like Nintendo 64, Xbox or Play Station, depending how long you have played or booked out the reserved table venue, food and drinks are delicious! You can either choose to play the 9 hole course or the whole 18th course rounds at different areas and terrain. I personally recommend it because it gives you an opportunity to engage and meet new people, to step out and get out of your comfort zone, mostly have a great time and enjoyable experience.

Darcy’s Sun Safety Tips
Stay in the shade whenever you can. It will keep you cool and protect your skin.
Other tips for staying cool in the heat:
When you are going outside for a while, always put on sunscreen. Put it anywhere that is not covered by clothes and shoes. Don’t forget your face, ears, back of your neck, hands and feet if they will be in the sun. Put more sunscreen on after 2 hours or every time you go for a swim.
Use a fan or air conditioner if you can. If your house is not cool, you can go to a shopping centre or a library where there is air conditioning to stay cool during the day. Wear lightweight long sleeves and long pants if you can to protect your skin from sunburn. But don’t wear anything that will make you too hot.
Have a cool shower.
Wipe your face and skin with a cool cloth.
Keep drinking lots of water.
Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated, water is your friend.
Wear a hat with a brim to protect your head, face and neck from sunburn. 8
