Reservation is a deeply controversial topic in this day and age; with many people asserting that one of the reasons for its failure at the level of higher education is that the same students are not provided quality education at the primary level. While the government has initiated multiple policies linked to the education of the masses in primary schools, 2012 saw the launch of 25% reservation in private schools for children from socially and economically disadvantaged sections of the society.
The mixed group of 8 youth was initially surprised to find that the government had enforced a policy of reservation in the private sector as well. The study allowed them to speak to the parents and staff at 3 schools in the city that were presently implementing the policy, where each one had much to say.
