SEMANA SANTA EASTER WEEK Traditional

Spain's religious history comes alive during Easter. Barcelona's festivities aren't nearly as dramatic as those of Seville and other towns, but a couple of local churches and religious brotherhoods hold processions. One is the “Nuestra Señora de las Angustias” organised by the church of Sant Jaume in C/ Ferran and the “Hermandad de la Macarena y la de Jesus del Gran Poder” from the church of Sant Agusti in Pl. de Sant Agusti 2, in the Raval. FIRA PER LA TERRA EARTH FAIR Environmental & entertainment

This is Barcelona´s Earth Day festival. It aims to address our contemporary global ecological situation, underlining that everyone is responsible for participating in sustainability. There is always a large food market, with stalls selling local ecological produce such as cheese, honey and pastries. Food trucks offer ready-to-go meals which you can enjoy in the park. Education and activism are top of the agenda, supported by a packed programme of talks and presentations which include eveything from transformational projects to meditation groups and healing arts. Local yoga centres, alternative healthcare practitioners and community-oriented initiatives present their proposals and visions from stalls in the park. Film screenings and concerts also take place during the weekend. Ciutadella Park www.diadelaterra.org 30
