We are looking forward to hosting our 4th annual Spring Turnout Sale.

We would like to see you on Saturday, May 19th, for this upcoming event. We are thankful to have Hilltop Simmentals join us as together we put on an exciting sale.

This year we will have an outstanding set of cow-calf pairs. Many of the cows are AId back, or have been exposed to top Simmental sires, for many 3 in 1 packages.

All of the cattle will be worked and ready to go right to pasture for you. Also, some excellent donors sell with a few select pregnancies. Finally, we will be offering an excellent set of fall heifer calves and some elite embryo packages.

Kadee and I are very humbled that you took the time to check out the offering at this year’s Spring Turnout Sale.

It has been a big year for us at Hilltop as we welcomed our daughter Tatum in April to our operation. We have continued to grow our herd and have worked hard to step up our bull sale offering in February. We know that the weather has been hard on everyone this year, and no one is looking forward to turning cattle out to pasture than cattle producers in South Dakota.

We are very excited about the offering of pairs that we have brought to the sale this year. Our pairs are lead by the genetic influence of our lead donor Red Jewel.

We think that these two pairs along with an open heifer are great representation of what Red Jewel can bring to your program. She continues to produce exceptional cattle for the Hilltop program. Craig and I have worked hard to get these females bred back to either by AI or a select group have been serviced by Hook’s Black Hawk who we acquired pasture rights on from Bridle Bit Simmentals. We understand the value bred females are to our operation, and we want to ensure that same value to our buyers.

We made a huge commitment several years ago in purchasing Red Jewell and we have been blessed to own such of a awesome donor.

Naturally we don’t take all the credit there were some great folks and their operations that owned her prior to making her final home in Hudson, South Dakota. We have marketed embryos in the U.S. and Canada to some great breeders and try to keep a few daughters and continue to market embryos. At the Spring Turnout the sale is to highlight pairs because the time of year so here are two pairs by the red donor, Red Jewell. Dakota Red has always been top daughter however after calving she has really tuned up the heat having a great udder and a promising Hooks Double Time heifer at side. This Rushmore cow is impressive being solid made, thick, broody and well designed.

We are committed to offering our freshest genetics and this female has been exposed to our newest red herdsire American Outlaw. The one we have liked since day one is the Shear Force x Red Jewell C519. We are sorry we didn’t get a picture so we will do a video. This Shear Force cow has a great mother ability plus a laid back disposition however that is not always a good thing because she will let several calves partake on occasion. C519 is complete, deep and soft. The 50th anniversary of the breed many can say that Hooks Shear Force has made a huge impact plus his sons and daughters. C519 is in the top 1% for CE, top 5% for Stay and API. C519 is nursing a black bull by Hooks Double Time and is pasture exposed to our new Lazy C Diamond red sire, American Outlaw. Red Jewel continues to produces beyond our expectations. She always produces good ones. In the first Spring Turnout the high seller was a daughter purchased

by Dodge Stock Farm. The customers that have purchased embryos have done great things and only help the process with this elite red donor. In the 2017 New Direction sale two embryo customers, Brandon Luebbue and Trevor Naber sold heifers for $15,500 and $10,300.
