genetics have been well received and profitable for those breeders who elected to make the investment in Lady Kelton heifer pregnancies. But what about the bulls? Angus Alliance would like to introduce you to a select group of Lady Kelton sons for which semen is available. These are sound-made, phenotypically desirable bulls with appealing numbers. They are housed at Olympic Genetic Center in Grinnell, Iowa, and can be viewed by contacting Tom 641-990-0334 or Christian Graham 641-990-6134. The semen is being collected at Nichols Cryo-Genetics in Maxwell, Iowa 515-967-5311. The price is $40 per unit and $30 for certificates.

This mating was designed to maximize phenotype. To capitalize on Lady Kelton’s exceptional length of spine and depth of body, Insight was selected to add polish. The mating did all that and more. Instinct is the highest performing Kelton son we have raised thus far. Simply put, he’s explosive. He combines excellent production attributes with a very impressive phenotype that will appeal to the discriminating breeder and create cattle worthy of the show ring. Graphite has been an eye-appealing bull since birth, providing ample performance in a moderately framed package. He provides a very desirable phenotype without any holes in either his pedigree or his numbers. Heifer safe, Graphite has an interesting spread between his mature weight and his carcass weight (81 points), with a high $W. The Granite / Kelton progeny are early maturing and have an undeniable maternal look.

Graphite is a bull that projects strong weaning weights and good carcass weights while keeping the mature weight in check, which should result in economical females that produce calves with heavy weaning weights and profitable carcass results.

Annuity is a very sound-footed Waylon son that provides top end carcass and performance numbers in a moderate package. If you are looking to bring some moderation to your cow herd without sacrificing performance (while improving EPDs), he’s an excellent choice. This Discovery son has EPDs in the top 1 percent of the breed for

WW, YW, Milk, $W, $F and $B, while sporting a carcass weight EPD in the top 2 percent of the breed. Conquest displays a long-spined phenotype that is consistent with his high-end performance and carcass EPDs. There’s an abundance of performance built into this mating. His inverted mature weight/carcass weight spread of 79 points projects economical females with top-end carcass weights and $W and $F EPDs both exceeding 95. An added bonus is that Lady Kelton appears twice in his pedigree, which will add to the consistency of his offspring.
