Steve McGuire at the American Simmental Association said our ASA number of 8973 was issued in 1976. That would be over 40 years ago. From a very humble beginning, we slowly grew. Simmental allowed upgrading through open A.I., along with mandatory performance recording. It allowed a young breeder to get into the purebred business through hard work, and dedication. But all was not easy. Simmental was not always accepted, as it is today. The early yellow and white cattle were not accepted. Polled and color improvement, along with calving ease acceptance, was made by many breeders.

Those of us who made the changes remained; those who didn’t are no longer in business.

The AJSA program has helped raised our children. I had the pleasure of serving on the ASA board and the Breed Improvement committee. It has been quite a ride.

Some say it’s about the people, and I agree, the people are great, …. but the cattle are what bring us success. It is the cattle. These cattle are right for the industry today. They complement crossbreeding, and the other English breeds prevalent in the industry. Specifically, Angus, both black and red. These are the type of cattle that Simmental cattle complement so well today.

We hope you will find something in our “First Ever” production sale. We have never offer females like this ever before.

Several donors have left an indelible mark in our herd …. And they still can in yours. Many of these have been bull mothers. Bulls are the core of our business … and it takes females like these to keep us in the bull business.

My research shows this bull is back by one of the true breed matrons of the breed...his great dam!

A new Genex addition for spring of 2017. We sampled him very hard. You have the opportunity share in some early pregnancies.

He may be the most exciting red calving ease Simmental to come along in recent times. Pedigree contains limited Shear Force, with high API A red bull we have used for a couple of years. He gets better with every proof, but his first daughters in production appear to be his greatest attribute.

Main Event may be the most exciting SimAngus sire to come along in years! Eye apeal, calving ease, growth, EPDs... he does it all!

An exciting herdsire retained for our own use. First calves exhibit muscle, correctness and maternal.
