Take in the views of snowy peaks and the lively ambience of Whistler’s pedestrian walkways, while appreciating some of the West Coast’s finest paintings, photography, stone and wood carving, sculpture, pottery, and jewelry.

If you have questions or are simply curious to learn more, seek out the gallery owners and staff, as they are extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the artists represented in their collections.

The Audain Art Museum houses a permanent collection of the art of British Columbia from early times to the present day. From there, cross over Fitzsimmons Creek via the covered bridge to the Upper Village where the Squamish Líl’wat Cultural Centre presents the traditional art, history and cultures of the Squamish and Líl’wat peoples, who have lived in the region for thousands of years.

If you’re feeling inspired by a sense of adventure, the great outdoors, and Whistler’s iconic local wildlife of whiskey jacks, bears and whistling marmots, consider enrolling in an art class. Carve an inukshuk out of soapstone, weave a basket from tulle rush, or try your hand at a watercolour painting.

There are plenty of art classes offered around town if you’re keen to ignite your creative spirit, as well as take home a personal memento to remind you of your stay in Whistler.
