To The Family of the Bishop Derrick W. Hutchins:

Earth hath no sorrow, that Heaven cannot heal…

Bishop Derrick W. Hutchins made such an indelible imprint on my life and ministry. Ever since 1988, when he began regularly coming to the Washingt on, DC area to minister at my home church (New Bethel COGIC) during the pastoral ministry of the sainted Bishop Sherman Howard (1926-2004) he has blessed me with his prolific and transformational preaching ministry.

He was a phenomenal gift to the body of Christ, and I sincerely counted him as a mentor, a faithful friend and brother. Our hearts are broken to learn of his passing. But we rejoice in God for a life well lived, battles fought, and victories won for the Kingdom of our Christ.

May the God of all grace grant you comfort, peace and solace at your time of bereavement. Know that beyond our understanding, he doeth all things well. If we can be of service to you, please feel free to call on us.

Sincerely yours in Christ,
