INTRODUCTION

In this portfolio, I present a selection of my different projects made during my first 4 years of architectural studies. By this non-exhaustive presentation, I wish to show both my way of approaching architecture by the practice of the project and in a more practical way my mastery of the various tools of representation. Thus will follow in reverse chronological order a selection of 6 projects realized alone and in group.

CULTURAL & SPORTIF COMPLEX IN MONFOTRTE

UE 8.1 (AD5 Architectural design) : Cultural & sportif complex in Monforte Teacher : Juan Ignacio Prieto López, Cristóbal Crespo González This semester, immersed in the town of Monforte de Lemos, was divided into two projects.

The first, built on a large, open plot of land on the outskirts of the small town, questioned programming without any major spatial constraints, and how architecture structures space.

The building consists of a concrete base that turns over and houses the serving areas. On top of this are two volumes in steel structure that respond to each other and house, respectively, a cultural center facing a small square, and a sports hall facing an outdoor field. A small footbridge links the two buildings.

UE 8.1 (AD5 Architectural design) : Wine bar in Monforte de Lemos Teacher : Juan Ignacio Prieto López, Cristóbal Crespo González to end this semester, the program look like the third act of semester 7. it consists of a small wine bar, so that it finally reaches the consumer. the plot is located on the corner of a small square. The new building had tto use concrete. Thus, echoing the neighboring typology, the building features large concrete arches housing a bar area divided into several half-levels and aligned with the street to the east. Above, a wooden structure reinterprets traditional Galician galleries and houses the restaurant area, while aligning with the surounding building to the north. The whole is structured around a concrete wall providing a light well and vertical circulation. The latter sets the scene for the space with its materiality and light effects.

Constructed in a back and forth between drawing and surveying, this axonometry was both a tool of representation and knowledge of the place invested.

During the semester, this work served as a support for discourse and design, and also allowed us to ask ourselves which project tool for which territory. It seems that axonometry is a natural tool for these small towns, including for dialogue with the inhabitants.

3 Autocad /Illustrator This semester was an opportunity to immerse ourselves in a territory and a site in order to extract the issues at stake. Around this foirail district, we wanted to deal with the place of the animal in the city, from domestic to wild. This question is posed in the continuity of a paradigm shift necessary for contemporary ecological issues. Thus, I had the opportunity to ask myself how architecture could serve this change of paradigm and how to place the living at the heart of architectural design.

This semester began with an analysis of the Tiretaine as the starting point of the project. This transect work made me aware of the importance of representation tools to establish a coherent discourse. Indeed, the transect is an important tool for thinking about the territory in its depth and thus leaving more room for the living.

In a second phase, the work on the guide plan continued this reflection by asking the question of what must be represented to tell the story of a project and a moral position. Here, the relationship to the permeable ground and to the living in the city goes through colour and opacity in the choice of what is shown. Based on Gilles Clement’s Manifest du tiers paysage, this semester was an opportunity to give a moral positioning to the project and to place it in a logic of thought.

The project is located in the city centre of Chamalière.

During this semester, I was led to think the project in the city following a real moral and political posture. Here the need to house more people without encroaching on agricultural and wild lands, and without waterproofing new soils leads us to this radical posture of architecture on the city.

Thinking in section allows us to find space vertically.

These dwellings are located in the wasteland district of Saint-Jean in Clermont-Ferrand near the railway line that fragments the city.

This semester has initiated for me more formal reflections on housing and its distribution. Also, this project allowed me to assert a stronger link to the city than in previous projects. I was also confronted in a more frontal way with the question of inhabited spaces, pursuing a work of porosity between interior and exterior, public and private.

RECOLLECTION ROOM UE 3.1 Projet : Recolection Room (With Paul Klein) Teacher : Eric David & Clement Fabre The project of a room of recollection is implanted at the foot of the Puy de Crouel in the redesigned enclosure of the cemetery of Crouel.

This project, initially defined in model form, was an opportunity for me to think about the interiorexterior relationship and the dimension of the spaces by working back and forth between the scales of representation. The poetic dimension of the programme was also the field of research for a harmony in the succession of spaces in order to define a path. This project initiated a reflection on the relationship between architecture and landscape. Finally, this work in model form led me to think of materiality as a primary element of the design.
