BAPIO SIGNS MOU WITH RCPE TO COLLABORATE ON THE INTERNATIONAL FELLOWSHIP SCHEME BAPIO President Dr Ramesh Mehta and Royal College of Physicians President Derek Bell signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 6th November to collaborate on BAPIO’s International Fellowship Scheme. Also present at the signing ceremony were Professor Parag Singhai, Honorable Secretary of BAPIO Mr Ashok Khandelwal, BAPIO Director. This is a very important collaboration between a prestigious UK Royal College and BAPIO to ensure that Indian doctors coming for training to UK, get first class learning experience. This is part of the ‘Earn, Learn and Return’ project of the National Health Service. BAPIO is committed to supporting healthcare both in the UK and India.

The agreement was signed by Mr Stephen Conroy, Chief Executive of Bedford Hospital NHS Trust and Dr Ramesh Mehta, President of British Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (BAPIO) to establish collaboration which will facilitate equality, diversity and inclusion in the trust. It will support raising the staff moral and assist conflict resolution. It will also assist recruitment and retention of Clinical staff.
