Today we welcome our neighbors from Seven Sisters RFC. This is the first league derby in many years. Regardless of the result today the club are extremely proud of the team and coaches. Having come together in the last 6 months the team have played 12 fixtures, joint highest completion rate alongside Fall Bay RFC. Results however, mean nothing because this team means everything to this club. It's brought a new dynamic to the off field and its great to see them staying into the night after games. Thursday’s have become a vibrant part of the club, especially if the pool team are home with the players becoming the barmy army for the side.
As per my last update I’d like to thank the committee, staff, players, coaches and management for the support they’ve given at recent events. It's been a pleasure to see new faces in the club. We want this to be a community club that’s inclusive for all.
5 years ago, this week we lost Derek ‘Deco’ Davies. A true servant of this club and well known as Mr Banwen RFC. He would have loved today
My final thanks must go to our match day sponsors who are with us today. Those that have sponsored the game today are over the next few pages, we are always looking to support local businesses who support us and there will be opportunity in future home games and as we look to the 23/24 season.
All that’s left for me to say is best of luck both sides today and we look forward to the return fixture later in the season.
