„Godina za nama bila je puna iskušenja - godina u kojoj smo morali da nastavimo sa odlučnim i ne uvek lakim merama, suočeni sa izazovima bez presedana. Čitav svet se prvi put suočio sa gotovo potpunim prekidom svih vidova saobraćaja, svetskih lanaca snabdevanja i protoka ljudi i robe. I nikoga ne bi zadovoljio argument “viša sila” – svi su očekivali da i u takvim okolnostima pokažemo odgovornost, snagu i mudrost da odgovorimo na sve izazove i potrebe. U takvim neizvesnim vremenima uloga centralne banke važnija je nego ikada pre. U koordinaciji sa Vladom Republike Srbije, doprineli smo očuvanju radnih mesta i predvidivosti poslovnog ambijenta. Nismo zastali pred preprekama, već smo ih uspešno premostili omogućavajući građanima, privredi i državi da i u ovim kriznim vremenima nesmetano funkcionišu. Uprkos brojnim izazovima uzrokovanih pandemijom, Narodna banka Srbije nije dozvolila da makroekonomska stabilnost bilo kog trenutka bude dovedena u pitanje. Posebno moram da naglasim da relativna stabilnost kursa nije ni u jednom trenutku bila ugrožena, čak ni u jeku krize izazvane virusom korona. Garant te stabilnosti predstavlja visok nivo deviznih rezervi, stvoren u periodima pritisaka ka jačanju dinara. Stabilnost deviznog kursa i stabilnost u najširem smislu te reči rezultat je na koji smo naročito ponosni i učinićemo sve da tu stabilnost očuvamo i u narednom periodu jer u ovom poslu nema konačnih pobeda - postoji samo svakodnevni posvećen rad zasnovan na saradnji svih nosilaca ekonomske politike u našoj državi“, ocenila je guverner Jorgovanka Tabaković, govoreći o rezultatima rada NBS u 2021. godini.

“The year behind us abounded in challenges. It was a year in which we had to carry on with decisive and not always easy measures in the face of unprecedented difficulties. For the first time ever, the whole world came to an almost complete halt – transport, global supply chains and the flow of people and goods. No one would have accepted force majeure as an argument. In those circumstances everybody expected us to demonstrate responsibility, strength and wisdom and to respond to all challenges and needs. In such uncertain times, the role of the central bank is more important than ever. In coordination with the Government of the Republic of Serbia, we helped preserve jobs and predictability of the business environment. We did not surrender to obstacles. We successfully bridged them, enabling citizens, businesses and government to function smoothly even in crisis times. Despite numerous challenges caused by the pandemic, the National Bank of Serbia did not allow macroeconomic stability to be brought into question at any point. I want to emphasize in particular that the relative stability of the dinar was never threatened, not even at the height of the coronavirus crisis. A guarantee of that stability if the high level of foreign exchange reserves, built up in times of appreciation pressures on the dinar. Stability of the exchange rate and stability in the broadest sense of that word is a result that we are immensely proud of and we will do everything to maintain that stability going forward as well because there are no final victories – there is only day-to-day dedicated work based on the cooperation of all economic policy makers in our state”, concluded Governor Tabaković, speaking about the National Bank of Serbia’s results in 2021.

ZAŠTO SVI PUTEVI VODE U BANKARSTVO? Ako je neko sklon tome da bankarstvo posmatra kao bilo koji drugi segment ekonomije, verujem da je u periodu koji je za nama morao da koriguje ovo mišljenje. Možda nikada nije kao danas bilo toliko očigledno koliko je bankarski sistem suštinski vezan za sva fundamentalna ekonomska zbivanja i koliko se krupni događaji na globalnom tržištu moraju voditi uz pomoć banaka, odnosno za njih moraju imati ozbiljne reperkusije. Iako su prošle pune dve godine od izbijanja pandemije kovida, posledice ovog globalnog poremećaja osećaju se na svakom koraku. Usporavanje poslovanja, bez obzira na to da li je reč o potpunom zatvaranju, ili o otežanim uslovima za rad, zapretilo je globalnom nelikvidnošću, pokretanjem lanca insolventnosti, posledično i teškim socijalnim potresima. U takvoj situaciji banke su odigrale krucijalnu ulogu, relaksirajući finansijske izazove građana, a posebno privrede. Kroz različite forme finansijske podrške, kroz odlaganje obaveza i olakšavanje pristupa novcu, omogućeno je svim klijentima banaka da bez velikih lomova prođu kroz zaista nesvakidašnju situaciju. U kovid krizi možda je nedovoljno istaknut psihološki aspekt. Upravo brza reakcija banaka, i stabilnost celokupnog bankarskog sistema, doprineli su izbegavanju panike, jer iracionalne ekonomske odluke najčešće su karakteristične za ovakve krizne situacije. Bankarski sistem u Srbiji tokom čitavog perioda, od 2020. god. do danas, ponaša se kao da je situacija apsolutno redovna i to je jedan od većih komplimenata koje su naše banke mogle da dobiju. I noviji period, od početka 2022. god. ponovo potvrđuje koliko globalne promene ne mogu mimo bankarskog sektora. Posledice pandemije udružene sa geopolitičkim potresima promenile su sliku globalne ekonomije, a ključni efekti prelamaju se preko bankarskog sektora, od koga se očekuju i neki od ključnih odgovora. Pitanja na koje najčešće odgovaramo poslednjih meseci, a tako će biti i u narednima, tiču se inflacije koja je zahvatila čitavu planetu. Odgovor centralnih banaka je jasan, to je podizanje referentnih kamatnih stopa, što pred banke stavlja pitanje cene novca. Najveće interesovanje građana, privrede i medija sada se tiče uslova kreditiranja, poskupljenja kredita, naravno i potencijala koje pruža štednja. Ove odgovore očekuju od banaka.
Naravno da svi navedeni potresi na tržištu, viši troškovi poslovanja, poskupljenje zakupa, veći troškovi plata, utiču na poslovanje samih banaka. Tu je izazov da se održi profitabilnost, naravno tu je i potreba podizanja cena samih bankarskih usluga. I ovo je aspekt koji uvek izaziva veliko interesovanje javnosti i na koje je potrebno razložno i pravovremeno nuditi kvalitetne argumente. Na sve navedene izazove svaka banka odgovara na svoj način. Ono što je opšti trend to je digitalizacija usluga, koja odavno nije stvar izbora. Klijenti su sve bliži sa onlajn i mobilnim bankarstvom, sve bliže smo ispunjenju onog obećanja da je „banka tamo gde ste vi“, a nove generacije neće ni znati za postojanje banke kao institucije u fizičkom smislu reči. Za njih će važiti banka = aplikacija u mobilnom telefonu. Sa druge strane imamo i trend konsolidacije, iz godine u godinu dolazi do spajanja banaka i samim tim do ostvarivanja sinergijskog efekta u poslovanju. Ne želimo da prejudiciramo dalja događanja, takve odluke su isključiva nadležnost akcionara, ali svakako da ne možemo isključiti mogućnost novog ukrupnjavanja u bankarskom sektoru. Kao zaključak, možemo da ponudimo dva kratka pogleda, jedan u prošlost, drugi na ono što nas očekuje. U prethodnom periodu sigurno je da je bankarski sistem potvrdio svoju stabilnost i to je veliki kompliment za sve nas koji u njemu radimo. U narednom periodu jedino izvesno je da nas čekaju velike promene. Koliko budemo spremni ne samo da ih pratimo, već i da ih generišemo i da im idemo u susret – od toga zavisi koliko ćemo biti uspešni.

WHY ALL ROADS LEAD TO BANKING? If someone is inclined to view banking as any other segment of the economy, I believe that the recent period had to have altered their opinion. Perhaps it has never been so obvious as it is now, just how fundamentally the banking system is connected to all fundamental economic events and how major events on the global market must be managed with the help of banks, i.e., they must have serious repercussions for them.
Of course, all the mentioned upheavals in the market, higher operating costs, higher rents, higher salary costs, affect the operations of the banks themselves. There is the challenge of maintaining profitability, while there is also the need to raise the prices of the banking services themselves. And this is an aspect that always arouses great public interest, and on which it is necessary to offer reasonable and worthwhile arguments, in a timely manner.
Although two full years have passed since the outbreak of the COVID pandemic, the consequences of this global disruption are felt at every step. The slowdown in business, regardless of whether it is a complete closure or difficult working conditions, has brought a threat of global insolvency, an initiation of a chain of insolvency, and consequently severe social upheavals. In such a situation, banks played a crucial role, relaxing the financial challenges of citizens, and especially the economy. Through various forms of financial support, through postponement of obligations and facilitation of access to money, it was possible for all bank clients to go through a truly unusual situation without major breakdowns.
Each bank responds to all the mentioned challenges in its own way. The general trend is the digitalisation of services, which has not been a matter of choice for a long time. Clients are getting better acquainted with online and mobile banking, we are getting closer to fulfilling the promise that “the bank is where you are”, and new generations will not even know about the existence of a bank as an institution in the tangible sense of the word. For them the bank = mobile phone application.
Perhaps the psychological aspect was insufficiently highlighted throughout the COVID crisis. It was the quick reaction of the banks, and the stability of the entire banking system, that contributed to avoiding panic, because irrational economic decisions are most often typical for such crisis situations. The banking system in Serbia throughout the entire period, from 2020 to this day, continued to act as if the situation was absolutely normal, and that is one of the biggest compliments our banks could receive. And the more recent period, from the beginning of 2022, reaffirms how global changes cannot bypass the banking sector. The consequences of the pandemic, combined with geopolitical upheavals, have changed the picture of the global economy, and the key effects are reflected through the banking sector, from which some of the key responses are expected. The questions that we have been answering most often in recent months and will continue to do so in the coming period, mostly concern the inflation that has gripped the entire planet. The response of the central banks is clear - raising the benchmark interest rates, which brings up the issue of what the price of money is for the banks. The greatest interest of citizens, the economy, and the media is now the terms of lending, the increase in the price of loans, and of course the potential offered by savings. They expect these answers from the banks.

On the other hand, we also have a trend of consolidation. Each year there are mergers of banks and thus a synergistic effect is established in business. We do not want to presuppose further developments, as such decisions are the sole responsibility of the shareholders, but we certainly cannot rule out the possibility of new consolidations in the banking sector. As a conclusion, we can offer two brief overviews, one of the past, and the other of what awaits us. In the previous period, the banking system has certainly confirmed its stability, and that is a great compliment for all of us who work in it. In the coming period, the only thing certain is that big changes await us. How successful we will be will depend solely on how ready we are to not only to follow them, but also to generate changes and meet them halfway.

Prethodnu godinu Banka je završila sa profitom. Nastavljen je i vrlo dinamičan organski rast bilansne sume, kao i rast kreditnog portfolija u segmentu poslovanja sa stanovništvom i korporativnim klijentima.
The Bank ended the previous year with a stated profit. A very dynamic organic growth of the total assets continued, as well as the loan portfolio growth in the segment of retail and corporate operations.
Svesni činjenice da trenutni izvori rasta nisu neiscrpni i da ne mogu trajati u nedogled, potencijale rasta za naredni period BPŠ Banka je prepoznala i u akvizicijama finansijskih entiteta, kako na domaćem, tako i na regionalnom tržištu. Aware of the fact that the current sources of growth are not inexhaustible and that they cannot last forever, Postal Savings Bank recognized its growth potentials for the next period in the acquisitions of financial entities not only in domestic, but in regional markets as well. By merging with MTS bank on 1 July last year, the Bank obtained modern digital services and a new core banking software. The acquisition of Komercijalna banka a.d. Banja Luka ended on 9 December with the purchase and sale transaction on the Banja Luka stock exchange, whereby Postal Savings Bank extended its operations in the region with the aim to become a unique financial highway between Serbia and Republika Srpska.

The bank drew closer to the diaspora and to those related with Serbia with the TIZI project, the first national platform for sending money from abroad to Serbia.

Više od 90 kompanija je uspostavilo poslovnu saradnju sa Bankom. Neke od njih su Telekom Srbija, Aerodrom Beograd, HBIS Smederevo, Zijin Bor, Huawei Technology i druge. Na kraju 2021. godine, ukupni poslovni zajmovi su iznosili više od milijardu dolara, što predstavlja rast od 27% u poređenju sa prethodnom godinom. Akumulirani obim poslovnih realizovanih transakcija u platnom prometu je dostigao 4 milijarde USD, što predstavlja rast od 201% u odnosu na isti period prethodne godine; RMB prekogranična saradnja je dostigla 2 milijarde juana, što je 4,2 puta više od prethodne godine. U proteklom periodu, Banka se bavila optimizacijom i unapređenjem poslovne mreže. Unapređena je obrada platnih transakcija, automatizovana obrada malih uplata sa poreskom implikacijom. Banka je uspešno otpočela sa radom na optimizaciji priliva u skladu sa srpskim šiframa osnova, kontrolu velikih iznosa platnog prometa, optimizovala cut-off vreme, prinudnu naplatu i obradu istovremenih transakcija. Mnogobrojne funkcionalnosti su obezbedile sigurno i efikasno funkcionisanje online platnog prometa i prinudne naplate. Stopa pokrića i stopa iskorišćenja online platnog prometa značajno je porasla.
Bank of China Srbija, predstavlja sponu između Kine i Srbije, pružajući investicione prilike i poslovne pogodnosti za kineske kompanije u Srbiji. U isto vreme, Banka omogućava srpskim kompanijama da posluju sa Kinom na brži i efikasniji način. Govoreći, do sada najuspešniji primer, svakako, jeste privatizacija kompanije RTB Bor. Ovaj proces je sproveden uz podršku Bank of China i od trenutka privatizacije, Banka je nastavila da prati i podržava poslovanje kompanije Zijin Group. Banka podržava i podstiče ekološki prihvatljive projekte, poput projekta zelenog rudarstva u Srbiji, u okviru kojeg Banka obezbeđuje podršku u izgradnji Zijin rudnika bakra i zlata Peki gradeći vodeći projekat u oblasti zelenog rudarstva, ciljem njegove lakše nadogradnje u zeleni rudnik i postrojenje za preradu rude. Ovi projekti su dali veliki doprinos pozicioniranju Srbije na drugo mesto najvećih proizvođača rude bakra u Evropi, vodeći računa o ekološkim standardima i održivom razvoju. BOC, takođe, podržava najvažnije infrastrukturne projekte. Banka je uspešno odobrila preko 200 miliona evra kreditnih linija za izgradnju postrojenja za preradu otpadnih voda u 11 gradova u Srbiji, u saradnji sa kompanijom CRBC, podržavajući na taj način razvoj Srbije u pogledu finansiranja zelenih projekata i promociji zelene industrije kroz konkretne akcije. 38
Banka aktivno pruža usluga finansiranja i plaćanja lokalnim privrednim društvima. Telekom SrbijaHuawei ALL-IP druga etapa je finansiranja zajedno sa BOC Hungarian Branch i China Exim bankom. U ovom procesu, BOC Srbija vodi eskrow račun. Sa aspekta izvoza, fokus našeg poslovanja nisu samo velike kompanije, već i mala i srednja preduzeća. Gotovo svake godine, održavaju se forumi za povezivanje privrednika u okviru Samita Kine i zemalja Centralne i Istočne Evrope koje inicira BOC i tom prilikom, naša Banka je organizovala učešće desetina malih i srednjih preduzeća iz Srbije, pružajući time nove poslovne prilike i srpskim i kineskim kompanijama. Banka je, takođe, organizovala i pomogla srpskim kompanijama da uzmu učešće i na onlajn kantonskom sajmu, pružajući im mogućnost da direktno komuniciraju sa kineskim kompanijama, u cilju izvoza iz Srbije u Kinu. More than 90 companies have established business relations with the Bank, such as Telekom Srbija, Belgrade Airport, HBIS Smederevo, Zijin Bor, Huawei Technology, etc. By the end of 2021, corporate loans in total surpassed USD 1 billion, an increase of 27% compared to the previous year. The volume of the accumulated international settlement reached USD 4 billion, an increase of 201% over the same period last year; the completed cross-border RMB business reached RMB 2 billion yuan, 4.2 times that of last year. Meanwhile, the Bank has continued to optimize and improve other aspects of its services. The processing of financial payment remittances has been upgraded, while fully automatic processing and processing of tax-related small-value remittances have been achieved. The Bank has successively optimized inward Serbian characters, control of large-amount remittances, cut-off time, as well as mandatory collection and concurrent transactions. Online banking remittance and forced collection business have been realized reliably and efficiently. The coverage and usage rates of online banking have grown rapidly.
Bank of China (Serbia), acting as a bridge between China and Serbia, provides investment opportunities and business convenience for Chinese companies in Serbia and facilitates Serbian companies in doing business with China in a faster and more efficient way. Speaking of realized investments in Serbia, one must point to the most successful example so far, which is the acquisition of RTB Bor. This was handled with the support of Bank of China and since then the bank has been providing full support to the Zijin Group. The Bank supports environmentally friendly projects, such as the green mine projects in Serbia, in which the Bank provided its support for the construction of Zijin Mining‘s Peki copper-gold mine and building a benchmark project for green mines. These projects have greatly contributed to Serbian upgrade to the second-largest copperproducing country in Europe while pursuing green and sustainable development. BOC Serbia supports important infrastructural projects, too. The Bank successfully approved over EUR 200 million of export credit lines for the municipal sewage treatment projects in 11 cities in Serbia built by the CRBC, supporting Serbia‘s development of green finance and promoting green industries with concrete actions

The Bank actively provides financing and settlement to local companies. Telekom Srbija-Huawei ALLIP second phase is financed together by BOC Hungarian Branch and China EXIM Bank, while BOC Serbia was holding the Escrow Account. As for export business, the Bank focuses not only on the large companies but also the SMEs. In the last couple of years, a match-making Forum under the Summit of China and Central and Eastern European Countries (initiated by BOC), was held on a regular yearly basis. The Bank enabled numerous SMEs from Serbia to attend the Summit, thus providing them with new business opportunities that could be successfully realized with Chinese companies. The Bank also organized Serbian companies to attend Online Canton Fair, directly linking them to Chinese companies for the benefit of increasing Serbian export to China. In the future, our Bank aims to continually increase its support for Chinese investors in the local market, actively aid Serbian companies in their business activities, and provide support to the Serbian Government in important infrastructural projects. In 2021, the project “A School Designed for You” was successfully continued by Eurobank Direktna with the support of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development as classrooms in three high schools were furnished with brand new IT equipment worth RSD 3.5 million. HALKBANK a.d. Beograd je u februaru 2021. godine započela projekat implementacije novog „CoreBanking“ sistema pod nazivom Halk Fusion. Dodatno, u julu tekuće godine puštena je u rad nova savremena aplikacija za devizno poslovanje. U kreditiranju privrede fokus je bio na Garantnoj šemi za podršku privredi, a aktuelne su bile FRK kampanja investicionih kredita u saradnji sa NBS, Program podrške za nabavku opreme u 2021. god., nova kreditna linija u saradnji sa fondacijom SEF, kao i plasiranje u segmentu Agro klijenata. Završena je kampanja „2 u 1“ u okviru koje su nuđeni gotovinski kredit i kreditna kartica kao povezani proizvodi. Zajedno sa Mastercardom Banka je organizovala „Mastercard/HALKBANK akvizicionu kampanju“.
In February 2021, the Bank started a project to implement a new „Core Banking“ system called Halk Fusion. In addition, a new modern application for foreign exchange operations was launched in July of this year. The focus in financing the economy was on the Guarantee Scheme for supporting of the economy, FRK investment loans campaign in cooperation with the NBS, new credit line in cooperation with SEF foundation, Support program for SMEs, as well as lending to Agro clients. The “2 in 1” campaign was completed, in which cash credit and credit card were offered as related products.
Tokom 2021. godine banka je nastavila sa daljim širenjem mreže ATM-ova i POS terminala. Orijentisanost banke je ka daljoj digitalizaciji procesa poslovanja, poboljšanju i širenju usluga koje nudi svojim klijentima.
Together with Mastercard, the Bank has created a „Mastercard/HALKBANK acquisition campaign“. During 2021, Halkbank a.d. Belgrade continued with the further expansion of the ATM network and POS terminals. The bank‘s orientation towards further digitalization of business processes, improvement and expansion of services it offers to clients.

NLB Komercijalna banka – a system important and the third largest bank in Serbia, member of NLB Group, the leading regional banking group, was established on April 29th 2022, as the result of a merge of Komercijalna banka and NLB Banka and a successful completion of one of the most complex bank integration processes in the region. Thanks to the merger, the new bank has EUR 4.8bn of joint assets, approx. additional 140,000 customers, approx. 25% greater loan portfolio, a new set of cards compliant with the standards of NLB Group, as well as significantly more products and services that it will continue to distribute to corporate and retail customers through modern digital channels, but also through one of the largest networks of ATMs and branches in Serbia.

Mobi Banka, founded as Telenor Banka in 2014, has retained the same mission despite the name change - to make banking mobile, simple and accessible to all. Today, the services of Mobi Banka are used by 670 thousand users, and another 80 thousand are expected by the end of 2022. Their goal to make banking completely digital is getting closer every year - 100,000 completely online loans were marked at the end of 2021, and the first quarter brought a new milestone of 100 million completed transactions. Za 3 Banku a. d. Novi Sad (ranije Opportunity banku) 2021. godina je bila izuzetno značajna. Uz dobre poslovne rezultate, banka je prošla kroz zaista važne promene – promenu imena i vizuelnog identiteta.
For 3 Bank JSC Novi Sad (formerly Opportunity Bank), 2021 was extremely significant. In addition to good business results, the bank went through changes - a change of name and visual identity.
Novo ime, 3 Banka, implicira tri strateška cilja banke: pozitivan uticaj na ljude, na planetu i na ekonomski prosperitet. Banka realizuje svoje aktivnosti na način koji sva tri cilja drži u balansu i ostvarenje jednog cilja ne sme ugrožavati druga dva. Uz novo ime, banka sada ima i novi logo, koji sa svojim jednostavnim geometrijskim oblicima i isprepletanim linijama, predstavlja drvo sa tri grane tj. cilja banke, a ujedno asocira na posvećenost održivosti i očuvanju životne sredine.
The new name, 3Bank, implies three strategic goals of the bank: positive impact on the people, the planet and on economic prosperity. The Bank runs it operations while maintaining the balance between these three goals, ensuring that the achievement of one goal does not jeopardize the other two. In addition to the new name, the bank now has a new logo, which with its simple geometric shapes and intertwined lines, represents a tree with three branches, i.e., three goals of the bank, and at the same time is associated with the bank’s commitment to sustainability and environmental protection.
Promena imena nije uticala na poslovnu strategiju. Banka ostaje fokusirana na finansijsku inkluziju, odnosno omogućavanje pristupa kreditima onim građanima i privredi kojima je taj pristup limitiran ili ga uopšte nemaju. Oko 45% klijenata banke, prema podacima iz Kreditnog biroa, prvi put koristi kredit upravo u ovoj banci. Nakon malih poljoprivrednika, preduzetnika, građana sa niskim primanjima i onih starijih od 75 godina, banka je u 2021. godini počela da finansira još jednu kategoriju građana sa otežanim pristupom finansijskim uslugama. Radi se o građanima koji su zaposleni, imaju redovne prihode, ali nemaju ugovor o radu na neodređeno vreme, već rade po ugovorima na određeno vreme, privremenim i povremenim ili sezonskim poslovima, ugovorima o delu i slično. 3 Banka a.d. The change of the name did not affect the business strategy. The Bank remains focused on financial inclusion, i.e., providing access to loans to citizens and businesses with limited or no access to financial services. According to data from the Credit Bureau, about 45% of the bank‘s clients are people who are taking their first loan. In addition to small farmers, entrepreneurs, low-income citizens and those over the age of 75, in 2021 the bank launched a product for an additional category of citizens with difficultly in accessing financial services. These are the citizens who are employed and have a regular income, however their contracts are just temporary, meaning they work under fixed-term contracts, temporary and occasional or seasonal jobs, and similar. 3 Bank a.d. Raiffeisen banka je u 2021. godini ostvarila odlične poslovne rezultate, u nekim segmentima i rekordne od početka rada, uz najveći rast kreditnih plasmana od 2008. godine. Bila je to i jubilarna, 20. godina poslovanja banke u Srbiji. Više je faktora koji su doprineli tome, a pre svih blagovremena transformacija poslovanja. Unapređeni digitalni servisi u segmentu stanovništva i privrede doveli su do rasta broja korisnika na elektronskim kanalima, kao i odličnih rezultata kada je reč o novim digitalnim proizvodima. Trenutno, tzv. cashless filijale pokrivaju oko 45 odsto ukupne mreže, a širenje novog koncepta savremenih filijala, sa uslugom dostupnom 24/7 na najsavremenijim višenamenskim uređajima, nastavlja se i u 2022. godini.
Raiffeisen banka realized excellent business results, in some segments even record results since the beginning of its operations, with the highest growth in loans issued since 2008. It was also a jubilee year, 20 years of business activities in Serbia. Several factors contributed to this - above all, the timely business transformation. Improved digital services in retail and corporate banking resulted in growth in the numbers of users on electronic channels, as well as excellent results as regards new digital products. At the moment, socalled cashless branches cover around 45 per cent of the total network, and the expansion of the new contemporary branch office concept, with services available 24/7 at stateof-the-art multipurpose devices, continues in 2022 as well.
Banka je nastavila da u fokus stavlja zadovoljstvo klijenata, te beleži visok NPS rezultat u svim domenima (pokazatelj spremnosti klijenata da preporuče banku). Osnovni cilj je ostvarenje vizije i misije RBI grupacije da do 2025. bude „najpreporučivaniji pružalac finansijskih usluga u Srbiji“.
The bank continued to place its focus on client satisfaction, to record a high NPS score in all segments (indicator of clients’ readiness to recommend the bank). The basic goal is to realize the vision and mission of the RBI Group to be the “most recommended financial services provider in Serbia” by 2025.
U 2021. godini banka je potpisala i ugovor o akviziciji domaće Crédit Agricole banke i lizing kompanije. Potpuna integracija se očekuje do kraja drugog kvartala 2023. godine. Ovom akvizicijom Raiffeisen banka će povećati tržišno učešće u Srbiji na 12% i zauzeti treću poziciju po vrednosti ukupne bilansne aktive. Dobri rezultati banke prepoznati su i izvan granica Srbije: nagrađena je dvema nagradama za „Najbolju banku u Srbiji” (Euromoney i EMEA Finance), kao i dvostrukom titulom „Najbolje banke u oblasti privatnog bankarstva” (Global Finance i EMEA Finance). In 2021, the bank also signed an acquisition contract to acquire the local Crédit Agricole bank and leasing company. The full integration is expected until the second quarter of 2023. With this acquisition, Raiffeisen banka will increase its market share in Serbia to 12 per cent and will be ranked third according to the total assets value. The bank’s good results have also been recognized beyond Serbian borders: it was awarded two “Best Bank in Serbia” titles (Euromoney and EMEA Finance), as well as the double title “Best Private Bank” (Global Finance and EMEA Finance). Srpska banka a.d. Beograd is a domestic bank with majority ownership of the Republic of Serbia, which has continuity and many years of experience in banking. Established as a Military Service within the National bank of Yugoslavia, for a short time it operated under the name of YU Garant banka ad Beograd, whereas since September 2003 it has been operating under the name of Srpska banka a.d. Beograd. Since the establishment, Srpska banka a.d. Beograd is majority state-owned, and its operation is based on high professional standards and efficiency in providing all kinds of banking services. The realized profit amounting to 16.337 billion dinars in 2021 is an indication that the Bank succeeded in responding to the challenges both by regulatory bodies and the business environment, and to adjust the business to its clients, primarily to clients from the system of the Defense Industry of Serbia, as well as to other clients with which the Bank traditionally does business.
Poslujući u zahtevnom tržišnom okruženju, u uslovima jake konkurencije, Banka je uspela da na zahteve klijenata odgovori brzo i efikasno, kroz stalno prilagođavanje proizvoda i usluga njihovim potrebama. Očekivanja su da će Banka u 2022. godini ostvariti bolje poslovne rezultate, kroz praćenje poslovanja, kako postojećih klijenata, pre svega klijenata iz grupacije Odbrambene industrije Srbije, tako i kroz privlačenje novih klijenata, obzirom da više ne postoje ograničenja za uspostavljanje poslovnih odnosa sa klijentima u delu poslova koji se odnose na prikupljanje depozita, otvaranje i vođenje platnih i drugih računa, poslove platnog prometa, dokumentarne poslove, odnosno poslove kojima se uvećava depozitni potencijal Banke. In a demanding market environment, in conditions of strong competition, the Bank has managed to respond quickly and efficiently to customer requirements, constantly adjusting its products and services to their needs. Expectations are that the Bank will achieve better business results in 2022, through monitoring the business, both of existing clients, primarily clients from the group of the Defense Industry of Serbia, and through acquisition new clients, since there are not any restrictions on establishing business relations with clients in the part of jobs related to collection of deposits, opening and maintaining payment and other accounts, payment operations, documentary operations, apropos operations that increase the Bank‘s deposit potential. The Bank approves loans primarily to customers related to the Serbian defense industry, as well as other companies that are independently, or as co-operators, involved in the specific production, development and foreign trade transactions, as well as with the companies in the public sector. Due to the ownership structure and specific operations of its traditional customers, the Bank has developed a strong, long-term business relationship with its customers and the network of correspondent relations with a number of banks around the world.Business cooperation with the retail clients is performed through the Belgrade branch, which is located at the Banks’s headquarters at 25, Savska Street.The priorities of Srpska banka a.d. In the segment of corporateinvestment banking, it remained a reliable partner and the first choice for as many as 75 of the 100 largest companies in Serbia, which certainly speaks of the trust that Serbian companies provide to the bank. At the end of 2021, UniCredit Bank celebrated its significant jubilee - 20 years of business in Serbia. The campaign, which is symbolically called „We Have Been Working Together for 20 Years to Start Good Things“, is dedicated to the topic of sustainability and environmental protection. During November and December 2021, UniCredit Bank allocated 2,000 dinars from each realized cash loan and working capital loan in the value of more than 200,000 dinars. During the two months of the campaign, a total of more than 13 million dinars was collected, which will be invested in projects for the improvement of protected areas and preservation of biodiversity in Serbia in 2022. The project includes support for the improvement of the preservation of flora and fauna, natural habitats of animal species, but also the improvement of tourist capacities and the popularization of protected areas.

Sa aspekta regulatora tržišta kapitala, proteklu 2021. godinu obeležio je rad na novoj regulativi u oblasti tržišta kapitala i digitalne imovine. Nakon čitave jedne decenije primene Zakona o tržištu kapitala iz 2011. godine, koji je doduše više puta u ovom periodu usklađivan prateći potrebe tržišta i samih učesnika – dobili smo novi zakon usaglašen sa propisima EU. Prenete su odredbe koje dodatno uvode red u tržišta finansijskih instrumenata, prospekt, sisteme za obeštećenje investitora, transparentnost, neopozivost saldiranja u sistemima za saldiranje hartija od vrednosti i oblast zloupotreba na tržištu. Cill ovog zakona je utvrđivanje temelja za razvoj tržišta kapitala i obezbeđivanje dodatnih izvora finansiranja preduzećima u Srbiji. Novi propis primenjivaćemo od januara 2023. godine, pošto daje dovoljno vremena učesnicima na tržištu da se prilagode novom regulatornom okruženju, a samom regulatoru da propiše neophodna akta za njegovu primenu. Međutim, samoj regulativi prethodilo je i donošenje veoma važnih dokumenata javne politike. Po prvi put se prepoznaje značaj razvoja tržišta kapitala kao dela uspešne ekonomije svake države. Podsetimo, Vlada je oktobra meseca 2021. donela Strategiju za razvoj tržišta kapitala za period do 2026. godine, a nedugo zatim i Akcioni plan za njeno sprovođenje. Uz to, polovinom 2021. godine počeo je da se primenjuje Zakon o digitalnoj imovini i donet je niz podzakonskih akata za njegovo sprovođenje, čime je u potpunosti zaokružena ova oblast. Ovim se Republika Srbija svrstala u krug retkih država koje su zakonski regulisale oblast digitalne imovine. Omogućeno je finansiranje pomoću investicionih tokena, smanjen je trošak pristupa investiranju, unapređeno korišćenje digitalne tehnologije, uz istovremeno jačanje borbe protiv zloupotreba, pranja novca i finansiranja terorizma. Donošenje zakona i podzakonskih akata predstavlja krupan korak ka povećanju pravne sigurnosti, razvoju digitalnih tehnologija i konkurentnosti srpske privrede na globalnoj sceni. Na ovaj način nastoji se da se ide u korak sa savremenim tendencijama u digitalnim tehnologijama i elektronskom poslovanju. Može se reći da je pravni okvir ustanovljen u pravo vreme, imajući u vidu globalnu pandemiju koja je ubrzala sveopštu digitalizaciju društva i poslovanja, a u kojoj važno mesto ima i digitalna imovina. Looking at the year 2021 from the perspective of a capital market regulatory authority, this year has been marked by the work on the new capital market and digital assets regulations. After an entire decade of application of the 2011 Capital Market Law, although amended and fine-tuned on several occasions during this period in response to the needs and developments of the market and its participants – Serbia has got the new, more comprehensive and detailed, EU-aligned text of the law. The provisions governing markets in financial instruments, prospectus, investor compensation regimes, transparency, settlement finality in securities settlement systems, and market abuse have all been transferred. The objective of the Law is to lay the foundations for the development of the capital market and to supply additional sources of capital for Serbian companies. This new piece of legislation will be applied as of January 2023, providing sufficient time to the market participants to adapt to the new regulatory environment, and to the regulatory authority itself to lay down the new implementing legislation. What is more, the new regulatory framework came in the wake of adoption of a couple of public policy documents of key importance, recognizing for the first time the significance of a developed capital market as an integral element of any economy striving to be robust. That is to say, in October 2021, the RS Government adopted the Capital Market Development Strategy for the period 20212026, followed by the Action Plan implementing the Strategy. Furthermore, the application of the Law on Digital Assets started in June last year, and a set of bylaws were adopted by the Commission, finalizing the regulatory framework for the area. This positioned Serbia in the ranks of a very few countries which have regulated the area of digital assets. The regulations facilitated financing by means of investment tokens, decreased the cost of access to investment money, improved the use of digital technologies, while at the same time deterring abuses and strengthening the fight against money laundering and terrorism financing. The adoption of the Law and its bylaws is a leap forward to legal safety, development of digital technologies and global competitiveness of Serbian economy. In this way, Serbia is keeping pace with the development of modern digital technologies and electronic businesses. It is safe to say that the legal framework has been put in place at just the right time, bearing in mind the global pandemic which accelerated the overall digitalization of society and businesses, in which digital assets take up a prominent position. Uprkos izazovima iz makroekonomskog okruženja, ograničenoj likvidnosti i odsustvu institucionalnih investitora, a sa namerom kreiranja novih investicionih alternativa, čiji nedostatak predstavlja ključni problem domaćeg tržišta, Beogradska berza je tokom 2021. godine nastavila sa aktivnostima vezanim za razvoj, integrativne procese i jačanje regionalne saradnje, prvenstveno putem strateškog partnerstva sa Atinskom berzom, aktivnog učešća u izradi Strategije razvoja tržišta kapitala i novog Zakona o tržištu kapitala, koji bi trebalo da daju podsticaj ubrzanom rastu i razvoju domaćeg tržišta kapitala. Tokom 2021. godine ostvarena je vrednost prometa od 41,23 milijardi RSD, što predstavlja pad od 15,43% u odnosu na 2020. godinu. Za razliku od prethodnih godina, u 2021. godini je zabeležen pad vrednosti prometa obveznicama Republike Srbije, dok je u trgovanju akcijama ostvaren rast prometa, pre svega zahvaljujući povećanom učešću blok trgovanja u ukupnom prometu. Sa prometom od 34,75 mlrd RSD obveznice su zabeležile pad prometa u iznosu od 20,52% u odnosu na prethodnu godinu, dok je promet akcijama dostigao vrednost od 6,48 mlrd RSD, rast na godišnjem nivou od 28,86%. Tržišna kapitalizacija Berze na kraju godine dostigla je iznos od 4,54 mlrd EUR, rast od 1,9% u odnosu na 2020. godinu. Indeks BELEX15 je godinu završio na nivou od 820,78 poena, što je za 9,64% viša vrednost u odnosu na 2020. godinu. The spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, energy crisis, supply chain disruptions, suplay and demand side shocks, inflatory pressures are circumstances that impacted the context in which the Belgrade Stock Exchange operated during 2021. Despite the challenging macroeconomic surrounding, limited liquidity and lack of institutional investors, and with the intention of creating new offer, the lack of which is a key problem of the domestic market, in 2021 the Belgrade Stock Exchange continued its activities related to development, integration processes and strengthening of regional cooperation, primarily through a strategic partnership with the Athens Stock Exchange, active participation in the development of the Capital Market Development Strategy and drafting the new Capital Market Law, which are alltogether expected to accelerate capital market development. In 2021 turnover reached 41.23 billion RSD, posting a decrease of 15.43% compared to 2020. Unlike in previous years, in 2021 bond turnover slipped, while stock trading posted an increase, primarily due to the increased share of block trading in the total turnover. With a turnover of RSD 34.75 billion, bond turnover decreased by 20.52% compared to the previous year, while share turnover reached a value of RSD 6.48 billion, an a nnual increase of 28.86%. At year-end market capitalization stood to EUR 4.54 billion, an increase of 1.9% compared to 2020. BELEX15 finished the year at the level of 820.78 points, with a gain of 9.64% compared to 2020.
