JV Boys’ Football
This was the first season of Under 17 football and Patana fielded a very young team including many Year 8 and Year 9 players. It was a mixed season with highs and lows throughout. Patana secured the first silverware of the season by winning the Shrewsbury Invitational Tournament without losing a game and only conceding one goal. In the BISAC League games the boys defeated NIST for the second time this season but narrowly lost a close game with Shrewsbury that prevented us from winning the league. Progress in a very tight BISAC tournament was going to be difficult after a couple of key injuries and call ups to Varsity. Progress came down to the final group game where we lost to eventual winners Trail. The overall finish of 5th was very disappointing and did not reflect the performances throughout the season. Marching on together I am sure that next season will be more fruitful, ‘Howway The Lads’.
