“ Choir is not just a form of art but also a culture activity that binds people together with a special bond. “
Currently, there is a big interest in singing and choral music all around the world and it's even more growing rapidly day by day. There are many choir events are being held, ranging from domestic and international choir competitions through to educational courses and choral singing and society that meet just for the sheer pleasure of making music together in an amateur. Indeed, a Choir is not just a form of art but also a culture activity that binds people together with a special bond that creates a national pride and beyond that can unite nations with nations and peace and harmony in world! On a personal development level singing in a choir can strengthen community and communication with others, develop motivation, leadership and a positive attitude - furthermore it is also fun! Choirs and choral groups therefore need to maintain an active pulse to achieve the noble goals that the art form can so easily achieve! 02
Participating in competitions can be a very positive activity and achievement for a choir as their part of development as the process will create a higher standard within the choir on an individual level as well the choir as a whole. We invite all the choirs in Indonesia and all over the world to participate in the upcoming "7th Bali International Choir Festival 2018" which has various categories judged by professional juries, and all choir participants will receive valuable evaluation and feedback. BICF 2018 is an opportunity to sharpen skills, collaborate and to come together collectively to promote and nurture friendship, harmony and peace! We await your application and participation in the beautiful surrounding of Bali with its amazing nature and culture - no other place in the world could provide the same little heaven for choirs!

Each choir participant will have an opportunity to specifically register in Choir Clinic. For 30 minutes, choir participant will have advices and directions directly from Choral Expert in order to improve the artistic quality for future performances, and will get a Certificate of Participation.
Choir participant will have an opportunity to specifically register in workhops in order to gain enrichment in choral knowledge and skill, as well as actively engaged in collaborations and choir rehearsals with Choral Experts, and will get a Certificate of Participation.
This activity is FREE of charge for the first 25 choir participants who have already registered for Evaluation Activities and have fully settled the payment of the event package fee before February 06, 2018.
This activity is opened for individual participants, conductors, choirs, and other participants from Indonesia and international participants. *Detail information regarding the workshops and choral experts will be announced further.

Every participant will be involved in any rehearsals and concerts led by the #7thBICF2018 choral experts. Participants will get enrichment in choir knowledge and choir skills, as well as singing practice together with other choirs.
Every choir participants can send maximum 7 members as representative for this activity and will get an opportunity to consult and receive some reviews directly from previous performance on #7thBICF2018 as an evaluation for future.
This activity is open for individual singers, conductors, choirs, or other participants from Indonesia or other countries by registered speciďŹ cally.
Choir participants can register directly after evaluation performances for free.

Each choir participants will get an excellent opportunity to perform and explain their choir story together with the impression after performed in the #7thBICF2018. Choir participant also can ask the audience to interact during the performance and develop friendship among participants and the audiences. Choir participants will get Certificate of Participation Friendship Concert after performing on the stage.
Each choir participants will get an excellent opportunity to collaboration with other choirs and share their lesson or experience of their performances.
This activity is open for any participants that register specifically to perform in Friendship Concert, or FREE for any choir participants registered in other activities, if slots are still available.

EVALUATION PERFORMANCES
H. Evaluation Concert Choir participants will get an opportunity to sing two (2) program songs that shows their best musicality. The committee provide choral experts who will evaluate the performance directly to the performer right after the performance. Participant will get a written evaluation and CertiďŹ cate of Participation. This activity is open for any choir who register speciďŹ cally to perform in evaluation performance, by competing or not competing.

I. Choir Competition Choir Competition is open for any choir participants from Indonesia or other countries, whether it's a newly-formed choir or long-established choir that wants to get an experience to perform in international choir competition. To choir participants who register for this program will get an experience and opportunity to perform in international competition as well as to get assessment and evaluation from international choral experts. Every choir participants that successfully perform at Choir Competition will be awarded with Certificate, Competition Medal according to the final result and Trophy “Category Winner” for participant that achieves Gold Medal with the highest score. COMPETITION CATEGORIES Every categories in Choir Competition can be joined by any choir participants consisting at least 16 singers, except for Vocal Group and Acapella categories which is available for any participants consisting 6 to 12 singers. CATEGORY WINNER Choirs who achieve a Competition Gold Medal with the highest score in each category will be rewarded with a certificate, Gold Medal and Trophy “Category Winner”. SPECIAL JURY AWARD Juries will give special award(s) with Certificate and or Trophy for choir, conductor or accompanist who shows outstanding performance, if there is any. CHOIR CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFICATION All choirs with a Competition Gold Medal and a minimum total score of 33,00 will directly qualify to perform at the Choir Championship. Qualified choir must prepare one (1) additional song from the same category for the Choir Championship. 17

J. Choir Championship Choir Championship participants will get an excellent opportunity to perform with other experienced and higher quality choirs. This program is open for all choir participants who are being participated in Bandung Choral Society choir competition and qualified for Choir Championship as according to previous category. All choirs with a Competition Gold Medal with minimum score 84,00 or a choir participant who gain a minimum total 18
score of 33,00 (Gold Lv IV) will directly qualify to perform at the Choir Championship. Every choir participants that successfully perform at the Choir Championship will be awarded with a Certificate and Championship Medal as according to evaluation result. Trophy “Category Champion” will be awarded for choir participant that achieves Gold Medal with the highest score.

EVALUATION PERFORMANCES
K. Grand Prix Championship All Category Champion from 7thBICF2018 Choir Championship are qualified to participate in Grand Prix Championship, and any participants that got recommendation from the choral experts. Choir participants that achieve more than 1 (one) Category Champions will only perform once and must perform 2 free songs or a maximum 10 minutes of performance time that can give the best impression for all choir expert. For Grandprix Winner will be awarded with Certificate and Trophy “Grand Prix Champion of the Wonderful #BICF7”. 20
Winner of the Grand Prix Championship will be qualified to participate in the Grand Prix Competition of Singapore International Choir Festival 2019 with FREE Participation Fee. (T&C Applied). Starting from this year, The winner will also be qualified to participate in 1st Asia Choral Grand Prix 2019 which will be held in Manila, Philippines. The COPYRIGHT of all program songs performed are participants responsibility to their respective composer / arranger. Participants who cannot fulfill these criteria will be disqualified from the Grand Prix Championship.

For Opening Ceremony Wonderful #BICF7, There will be special performances from choirs participants (special invitation) and Parade of Delegates.
Every choir participants will be invited to participate and must send two members as representative to join “Parade of Delegates” by wearing traditional costume. Each participant are allow to perform their heritage of their cultures with costume and their traditional music. Every choir participants who register for the program will receive dinner invitation and dinner with VIP guests. Participants with the best costume during the parade will get directly on the event a Trophy "Best Outfit of the Wonderful #BICF7".

CEREMONY & AWARDING

N. Award Ceremony All choir participants must attend the Award Ceremony to hear the announcement of the results from 7th BICF 2018 activities. Certificate, Medal and Trophy will be awarded at this time. The committee will not serve delivery of Certificate and Medal. There will be no re-announcement or awarding on the stage for any choir participant who is accidentally late or couldn’t attend the Award Ceremony.

General Rules : Choir participant can only choose / join 1 (one) category from category 01 to 07, but is allowed to choose / join other category. (Category 08 to 16). In any categories with age limit, choir participant must make sure the difficulty of the songs chosen are suitable with the singers characteristic and age. Age tolerance of the singers from the chosen category with age limit is 10% from the total number of singers who is one year older or one year younger from the requirement of age. Choirs representing a school, church, or participating in a category with an age limit must submit a statement signed by the principal or person in charge stating the date of birth and age of each member. A choir is liable to be disqualified without any refund if there is a different between the official letter and the appearance on stage or any other factual aspects.
Specific Rules : For Choir Competition, Maximum Performance Time is 10 minutes with 2 program songs. One of the song must be performed by a-cappella, except for children's choir and senior choir, which is allowed to use an accompaniment for all program songs. For Choir Championship, Maximum Performance Time is 15 minutes with 3 program songs. General Rules This category refers to sacred music from ancient times until today. Any Christian songs which not a sacred music can not be performed in this category. GENERAL REGULATION GENERAL The 7th BICF 2018 is open to amateur choirs from all over the world. 02. Please read carefully the conditions related to each category: the number of singers,age limit, performance time, the number of songs, voice type and song type, etc. 03. Choreography is allowed during the performances but its not mandatory. 04. The number of participants on stage should not exceed the amount paid in the participation package. The committee reserves the right to disqualify without any refund if there is a difference in the number of participants. 01.

Choir participants who present program songs besides English song must submit a statement of music origin and song description in English. For choir participants who take more than one category must submit different music songs for each category. The committe is suggest to all choir participants to select compulsive contrast song and show the best quality of artistic from your choir. Choir participants are not allowed to perform selected song from similar genre and refer to other category. If the program song is more suitable to other category, the committe reserves the right to substitute the selected category into other category. The program songs on stage must be an original choral work and not the reduction from the orchestra. All programs MUST be approved by the Artistic Committe. Programs NOT approved by the Artistic Committe MUST be changed. The committe is suggest to all choir participants to ďŹ lled artistic data and send program songs in time to avoid problems.

Participants must submit 5 original music score for each songs by mail service together with license. Participants who will perform with piano instruments MUST send the music score complete with piano accompaniment. The committee allowed participants to provide receipt of music score for 7thBICF 2018 from publisher if participants cannot provide the original music score. The receipt is MUST come from publisher not re-seller. All original music score which been collected will be given to all choir participants during Awarding Ceremony in Registration Room. There will be no service from the committee to send back the music score after the event. Each choir is responsible for the COPYRIGHT of the songs sung in this competition. The committee is not responsible for the copyright of the songs performed to the respective composer / arranger.
SCHEDULE PERFORMANCE & STAGE REHEARSAL The committe will send the schedule and performance location from each groups after 1st of June 2018. 02. The schedule for stage rehearsal will be schedulled 1x10 minutes for each category. 01.
IMPORTANT !
Stage rehearsal schedule will be on priority for participants who send their arrival ittenerary to Bali. There is no re-schedule for performances and stage rehearsal after its conďŹ rmed.
INSTRUMENT The committee will only provide an acoustic piano / e-piano. And drum set for vocal group and show choir Category. 02. For a choir participants who is requiring additional equipment should inform the committee through email before April 2018. 03. A maximum of three instruments without deďŹ nite pitch can be used, except for the folklore and pop and jazz categories, where there is no limit. 01.

PERFORMANCE PROPERTY For comfort and safety, please pay attention to the following:
Participants must send additional musical instrument and property list, which will be used for the performances. 02. No performances with big fire and smoke elements in the building. 03. Must not use breakable and sharp objects. 01.
IMPORTANT !
Property which is not informed before to the comittee and did not get permission to use, is prohibited. Property that endager performance or after is fully participants responsibility.
EVALUATION Performance time is the duration from the sounding of the first tone until the last note is sounded, including the pauses between songs. If a choir exceeds the time specified, the total score will be reduced by 1 point multiplied by the number of minutes exceed. 02. The evaluation activities will use a scoring system based on the following criteria: 01.

List of participant with their ages (Full name, Date of birth, Current age, Phone number/ Whatsapp). Payment receipt for event package: include payment purpose “Your Choir’s Full Name”. Audio recording/ link from youtube of choir performance from the last one year.
For Choir Championship participant, Scan of certificate with total score 84,00 and above or 33,00 Gold Lv. IV and above from the last 3 years..

The committee can send the confirmation letter particularly for the program song and choir participants have maximum time for rehearsal and prepare for best quality performance.

The following documents MUST be sent by MAIL SERVICE to the secretariat of 7th BICF 2018 soon after get the confirmation step-3 from the committee later than Tuesday, 06 March 2018. 5 exemplars of original music scores in musical notes format for the song that will be sung in each category. atau 5 exemplars of original music scores (licence or public domain) with respective composer or arranger license that will be sung for each category. atau 5 exemplars of original music scores from any free website.
IMPORTANT !
Program without committee approval can not be performed. The committee must be notified of key changes and changes in program order latest on Tuesday, 10 April 2018. The committee cannot process scores sent by e-mail.
