CONNECT AND CONNECT EV CHARGING STATION
INFORMATION
LOCATION : Lainchaur, Kathmandu
SOFTWARE USED : AutoCAD , SketchUp , Photoshop
DESCRIPTION
As you connect your car, connect to the people that made the same decision as you for a greener and sustainable world. Our goal is to create an electric charging station that is not just a place to charge your car, but a place to recharge and a destination for socialisation and relaxation while waiting for a charge. Book cafe is chosen as a medium to recharge and to embody the green lifestyle a green courtyard is present.
The design incorporates all the functions under a single roof further enhancing the connection. There is a strong link between the exterior and the interior. Interactive green space connects one with nature after passing through hectic traffic of kathmandu. The book cafe provides an opportunity for one to read and interact with other people while their vehicles are being charged.

PARK OF REMINISCENCE
NOSTALGIA REVISITED
Childrens park design | Landscape studio
7th semester
INFORMATION
LOCATION : Kalopul, Teku , Kathmandu
SOFTWARES : AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop
DESCRIPTION
The author hearkens back to her childhood days, when she used to accompany her family to ropai. She remembers playing in the wet mud in spring. Planting of the green saplings as the workers sing songs in unison. The flowing river with its strong current just before the onset of monsoon. And in autumn, fields of golden paddy, the dry air carries the beautiful scent of paddy far and wide. And the stacks of hay, where she and her friends used to play, jump around and sleep in. The author would like to build a park where a child growing up in Kathmandu can experience the age-old tradition of farming. The park would be a wonderland where children could participate in outdoor activities using all their senses. The activity would help a child develop their social skills as well as develop their cognitive functions. A park that would allow them to play and interact in nature, and to create memories to cherish for a lifetime.

:HAIR SALON
EMBRACING THE BEAUTY OF IMPERFEC-
Occupational unit design
3rd semester
INFORMATION
LOCATION : Dhulikhel, Kavre SKILLS : Hand drafting, Sketching
DESCRIPTION
The concept of wabi-sabi, which emphasises the beauty of imperfections and the peaceful acceptance of the cycle of growth and decay, is reflected in the design of the hair salon. Wabi represents simplicity, freshness, and quietness, while sabi denotes the beauty that results from age and the natural wear and tear of objects.
To embody these principles, the salon was constructed using rammed earth, a building material with a long history of use due to its high compressive strength, thermal capacity, and low greenhouse emissions. Additionally, rammed earth has gained popularity in recent years due to its low embodied energy and minimalist, natural aesthetic, making it a fitting choice for a design philosophy centered on wabi-sabi.
The building layout and overall design of the salon are also minimalistic, further emphasizing the concept of wabi-sabi. By intentionally embracing imperfection and simplicity in the construction and design of the salon, it embodies the beauty that can be found in the cycle of growth and decay, in accordance with the principles of wabi-sabi.

SOFTWARES : AutoCad, SketchUp, Enscape, Photoshop
DESCRIPTION
Dapcha, a historic village in Namobuddha Municipality, Kavrepalanchowk, has enormous potential for tourism. As students of Kathmandu University, we spent a week at Dapcha Chhatrebajh, exploring the traditional settlement's architecture and lifestyle. However, the lack of proper infrastructure for accommodation and food needs to be addressed. The culinary training center was designed sustainably, keeping the interests of the tourism industry in mind. As Dapcha develops, essential resources and basic infrastructure must be developed sustainably

DESIGN PHASE II
While interacting with the local community, we discovered that Dapcha has tremendous potential for tourism, and it should be developed accordingly. However, the present lack of adequate infrastructure for accommodation and dining is a concern that must be addressed. Therefore, the culinary training center was designed with a sustainability approach, catering to the interests of people in the tourism industry. The design emphasizes the need to develop essential resources and basic infrastructure as Dapcha progresses, taking a sustainable approach to the village’s growth and development.

DESCRIPTION
This endeavor envisions Banepa restored to its former glory, a bustling hub of community and liveliness, with its architectural heritage revitalized. The plan includes the creation of an art center, museum, and cafe on the upper floors of buildings, complemented by a farmers market on the ground floor to rekindle the sense of community that once thrived there.
Through these initiatives, the art center and museum will offer a window into Banepa’s rich musical heritage, allowing young minds to learn the craft of instrument making and playing. The shopkeepers will sell these instruments, fostering local businesses and preserving the city’s cultural legacy. A wellness center will also be established, promoting modernity while providing crucial facilities for the community.
