In 2016, Smith’s foundation donated over $300,000 to Project 658 to establish the Smith Family Wellness Clinic, which provides free and reduced medical and counseling services to refugee, international and low-income families in Charlotte, NC. The uninsured have the ability to receive traditional medical treatment as well as emotional support, giving them direction toward a healthy life and becoming more self-sufficient members of the community.

2016 Ravens Man of the Year For the second year in a row, Steve Smith Sr. was named the Ravens Man of the Year, as he continues to create a legacy off the field by helping those in need. His efforts include supporting House of Ruth Maryland, hosting free football clinics for kids, thanking our military and distributing food, clothes and shoes to the community. These contributions from Smith Sr. off the field have made a huge impact, and his work will continue after retirement through the Steve Smith Family Foundation, which is dedicated to providing hope and inspiration to those in need and advancing causes that are close to the heart of his family.

“The Smith Family Wellness Clinic is a safe haven, a place where people can be themselves and go to when they are feeling hopeless – a place to find hope.” – Steve Smith Sr.

Community Showcase

BALTIMORE RAVENS OUR TEAM. OUR COMMUNITY.

At each Ravens home game, a designated local nonprofit is given free booth space on RavensWalk to interact with fans entering the stadium prior to the game. The opportunity gives the nonprofit unique exposure and the ability to connect with and communicate their message to thousands of fans. In 2016, the Community Showcase featured Athletes Serving Athletes, Bridges, House of Ruth Maryland, One Love Foundation, Playworks Maryland, Reading Partners, and Sisters Circle.

For each Ravens regular season home game, the Living Legacy Foundation of Maryland selects a child whose life has been impacted by organ and tissue donation to run onto the field and retrieve the tee after kickoff.
