C OAC H H A R BAU G H S AY S “To be 3-1 after playing three games on the road in some really tough environments is quite an accomplishment. Now, we have to come home and take care of business. Add on the adversity that we have faced, that’s just part of it, but that adversity is still there. We still have to keep working through that. But those are our guys – that’s who they are, and it’s what makes you love them.”

7 It’s a nationally-televised Monday Night Football battle when the Baltimore Ravens (3-1) host the Indianapolis Colts (1-3) on Oct. 11. Playing three of their first four contests on the road, the Ravens return to M&T Bank Stadium for their second home game, which follows a thrilling 36-35 primetime victory over Kansas City in Week 2. Riding a three-game winning streak, Baltimore sits atop the AFC North with Cincinnati and Cleveland (also both 3-1).

The Ravens have a league-high 17 players on Injured Reserve, including starters/standouts WR Rashod Bateman (groin, who was designated to return to practice in Week 4), TE Nick Boyle (knee), RB J.K. Dobbins (knee), RB Gus Edwards (knee), CB Marcus Peters (knee), G Tyre Phillips (knee) and DE Derek Wolfe (back/hip). All-Pro T Ronnie Stanley (ankle) has not played in the past three games, while starter S DeShon Elliott (quad) missed the Denver contest.

7 The Ravens, who own a 16-2 record in home primetime games under John Harbaugh (see graphic below right), are appearing on Monday Night Football for the second time this season after falling in OT, 33-27, at Las Vegas in Week 1.

NOTE THE QUOTE THE BALTIMORE SUN’S CHILDS WALKER ON THE RAVENS’ 3-1 START: ”A 3-1 start would not have sounded like a big deal two months ago, not for a team that began training camp with Super Bowl ambitions. After all the torn ligaments and late-game theatrics we’ve seen since? It’s borderline spectacular. This is not the team we expected to see on Oct. 4, even in a league where players speak in resigned tones of the 100% injury rate. But 3-1 probably is the record many of us would have projected through four weeks. It’s a testament to the Ravens’ resilience with Harbaugh as coach and their resourcefulness with Jackson at quarterback that they found their way through the forest.”

7 Though Baltimore has won four of the past five games against Indianapolis, the Colts lead the all-time regular season series, 8-5. Coach Harbaugh is 3-3 against Indy in the regular season and 1-1 in playoff contests. Baltimore has won two straight vs. the Colts, including a 24-10 victory at Indy in 2020.

7 Last Sunday (Oct. 3), the Ravens prevailed, 23-7, at Denver behind a stout defensive effort and proficient passing attack. Baltimore allowed a season-low 254 yards, also producing 5 sacks and 1 INT (CB Anthony Averett). QB Lamar Jackson was 22-of-37 passing for a season-best 316 yards, including a spectacular 49-yard diving TD from WR Marquise Brown, who produced a game-high 91 yards on 4 catches. RB Latavius Murray rushed for his third TD in four games, while K Justin Tucker nailed all 3 FGAs in the win, becoming the faster kicker in NFL history to reach the 300 career FG milestone (148 games).
