Here we are again about to witness the congregation of over 200 bands, artists, DJs, dancers and theatrical acts, over 3 unbridled days of madness, in the (occasionally) serene, yet never boring, North Hertfordshire town of Baldock. A town that has a rich plethora of events and characters behind them. From the hallowed Baldock Beer festival, to the festivities of the Baldock Christmas Fayre and the long standing Baldock Festival. But what's undeniablesthatofalltheseeventsBalstockistheLOUDEST! From the very beginning of this rambunctious event, back in 2006, Balstock has remained fiercely independent, run by volunteers; a committee planning from February until November; even single band and act gives their time for free and more volunteers man the stages and sound-desks, while others collect donations in buckets and shakers for 5 separate charities. 9 pubs, 2 cafes host music and the mighty Elaine LaRoche Stage towers over the High Street attractions, including food stalls, a fun fair, a bar and the mandatory BalstockMerchandInfostall. Every single Balstock venue is FREE to attend, so please pop as much as you can spare into the charity buckets and bar shakers, it will help some incredible causes and make a big difference to the lives of the local homeless, bereaved, terminally ill, infirmed and the young.

The Lister Area Kidney Patients Association – (LAKPA) is a small charity dedicated to improving the lives of kidney patients and their families served by the Lister Hospital in Stevenage. LAKPA is run entirely by volunteers.
Keech Hospice Care (Baldock Branch) – Keech Hospice Care provides specialist care for adults and children with terminal and life-limiting illnesses as well as vital support for their families and friends.
Stand-by-me Children's Bereavement Support – Supporting bereaved children, young people and their families in North Herts and Stevenage.
Merry Go Round Under Fives – Merry Go Round provides an exciting preschool education and opportunities for children under five from Baldock and the surrounding area.

If and when you donate, these will be the beneficiaries: Feed Up Warm Up – Homeless out reach team that runs two drop in sessions a week in two towns and our out reach teams support rough sleeping individuals through out North Herts .
The jewel in the Balstock crown has been on Baldock High Street since 2010, named after the beloved and much missed Balstock treasurer and mother of G LaRoche –Balstock's chief organiser and chairman. The stage is manned by our great mates at London Road Studios and overlooks the Apple-cottage cider and ale bar as well as our very own Balstock Merchandise and info stall (please do buy a t-shirt, umbrella, CD or other assorted items to bolster the funding amount). Further down the High Street there are food stalls, face painting, Abbotts Fairground attractions, Tylers Charity hair-doos and much more.

The Elaine LaRoche Stage – Saturday and Sunday
This pub has become so important to the local scene and it's struggling musicians over the pandemic, mostly to the breath-taking charity work of Rob Scahill, it should need no introduction. A selection of ales, pub grub and rare whisky's can only taste finer with an ABBA tribute InTwo Doing ABBA', blasting rock from 'Gone Shootin' and folk punkers 'Skimmington Ride' as well as a Sunday dedicated to acts specially selected by our favourite duo Steph Scott and Cara Beard AKA Isles.
The Engine/The London Road Studios Stage – All 3 days
The High Street attractions have an enthesis on family and children's entertainment with Imajica Theatre kicking off the ELR stage. There will be also be extra familyfriendly distractions from Street Performers courtesy of Jacqui Woolward (who sadly passed shortly after Balstock 2021). Some massive bands you can expect to see are Our Friends Electric, The SGs, Queenergy and The Dirty Half Hundred.
Everyone must know by now that The Engine is the spiritual birthplace of Balstock and we are extremely buzzing to have them as a host venue for our partners in crime, the almighty London Road Studios who have been powering our effort on the High Street since 2011. This stage is full of the most exciting acts from party hardened covers band 'The Scallywags', drumming virtuoso 'Kieran Leigh', the jugganaut rockers 'Electric Black' as well as some Balstock favourites: 'Bubounce'. Past 10.30 DJs will keep the party going well into the night.

The White Lion has been a consistent supporter of Balstock since we opened up to the whole town back in 2010. We are very proud to offer “The Phil Hall Stage” at this venue. This tremendous tribute starts on Friday night with Briar Rouge's Burlesque stage (maybe leave your kids at home for this one parents) including a Kyle Minogue tribute by Briar. The rest of the weekend sees a preferer of Hard Rock, Punk and the best noise possible with such must sees as 'The Best Medicine', 'Jesus Hooligan and '10 Gauge'. A MUST SEE!!!
The Old White Horse – All 3 days
The “OWH” has excelled as a music pub over the last few years. It's famous pizza and pots menu gains incredible reviews and boasts one of the larger pub stages with diverse acts such as bouncing covers band 'U OK Hun', the youthful talents of 'Jack Alexander, and the acoustic punk ethos of 'The Tuesday Club'.
The Victoria / The Heavy Stage – All 3 days
The Hen & Chickens – All 3 days Baldock's most consistent music pub, the Hen & Chix has a long lasting reputation as a retro venue and impressive garden stage (which includes a Japanese water feature). Make sure you visit this hidden gem over the weekend with bands like the ear blistering 'Bleach Boys' Balstock resident drag act 'Magenta Slipperz' and the rich family sounds of 'FONO'.
Once again our great friend and local ledge 'Paris Cesvette' will be hosting in the Sports venue by day and wild establishment by night, Buffs club. Paris Cesvette – the international DJ, music producer and festival headliner who offers: “to bring a range of some of the greatest talent in house and garage to provide the greatest experience for dance music lovers at balstock.” I would just like to add – “Up The F**kin Buffs!”
The White Lion/ The Phil Hall Stage – All 3 days
We LOVE the Vic! Once again hosting that most important and enduring of stages. YES it will be loud and YES it will be powerful, but Balstock has fort hard to keep Metal music alive and well under the watchful eye of Nicholas Plews and his entourage of headbangers. Make sure you peep in for epic Trad. Metallers 'Neverworld', riff obsessed dreg merchants 'Praetorian' and symphonic doom from space with 'Spectural Darkwave'.

One of the smaller pubs in the dead centre of town has the biggest reputation for great beers, spirits and food. It's also a leading venue for acoustic musicians. The Friday of Balstock will be hosted by our ever loving Brian Burke and his band The Tanglers Irregulars, giving a mix of Irish, folky and Country vibes courtesy of Robin Cambells Celtic Mashup. Followed by 2 days of pure acoustic delight with such acts 'Dan Bond' 'Mark Sullivan','Shakila K' and ' the Cardinal Kings'.

Café Luna– Saturday Café Luna's second year at Balstock and this venue has fast become an important part of the town, serving up mouth watering coffees and a fine selection of breakfasts and brunches. This stage will have the more mellow acoustic acts such as Rafael Monteiro, Paul Booth and Laura Dannen. Pixies Café – Friday Kicking off the Friday proceedings is Pixies Café on Baldock High Street. Grammy Nominated Producer / DJ Muzikman Edition (MME) hails from East New York, Brooklyn and started experimenting with turntablism in 1986. His love of the art led to the introduction of DJ 3D to the NYC music scene bringing a unique style combining house, hip-hop, rare groove and R&B classics. DJ 3D earned a resident DJ post on WBAI's Underground Railroad w Jay Smooth, where he's been breaking new music for two decades. And through friendship with Kenny Dope, Muzikman Edition was born.
Veterans Steve and Dick played & wrote together in legendary weirdfolk outfit Tintagel a decade or two (or three, or more) ago. Now, reunited & joined by Steve's daughter Gemma (drummer with electropop outfit Kish Mauve), they're rising in modest glory again.

Driven by a rich soulful voice, Robb captivates with an innate sense of rhythm and melody. Raised in a musical family, James was quick to realise the importance of learning his craft. He joined writing sessions at an early age and began to play locally as well as in London.
