Hidden amongst the peninsulas and waterways of the Scottish Highlands; a place of historic towns with deep clan roots, staggering seascapes, and breath-taking landscapes, together with one of the most temperate climates in the United Kingdom creates a wedding venue of unsurpassed beauty.
Balnagown is a private Highland estate that views its greatest asset as the landscape and natural environment that surrounds it. We offer you exclusivity, with 24-hour access and security.
The core part of the estate is easily accessible just off the A9, with its own helipad, minutes from a private airfield, and 45 mins from Inverness International Airport.
The estate is located in one of the most picturesque, mystical, and deeply historic parts of Scotland. A rich and varied landscape; spend time on its white sandy beaches by turquoise seas or in deep, verdant forests. Gaze in awe at the Pictish standing stones, learn about the history of the Highlands, and be delighted by the rich variety of wildlife. Ross-shire is renowned for its plethora of unmissable golf courses, unrivalled whisky distilleries, and a wide variety of outdoor pursuits. There is so much to fascinate and engage.
Set right in the heart and encompassing 39,000 acres of this magnificent region lies Balnagown Estate. It stretches from the shores of the Cromarty Firth to within a stone’s throw of the west coast.
An historic estate, Balnagown is also a charming and traditional working estate dedicated in the most part to forestry, farming, and wildlife.
Set amongst this stunning, natural environment are a wide array of strikingly beautiful venues each perfect for your special day. Woven in amongst them are nine high-end holiday properties, each of which has played a part in the life and history of the estate, is individually styled, and set in its own grounds.
For the enjoyment of our guests, we also boast spectacular formal gardens, a flourishing & working walled garden, miles of pathways, two loch-side beaches and acres of space.
Spend the afternoon wild swimming or pottering around on paddle boards in the waters of Loch Auchoyle or soaking up the sun down on Loch Larrack enjoying the braziers, beach, and barbecuing.
Try your hand at salmon & trout fishing, or have some fun in the well-equipped sports hall, or try our indoor & outdoor gym. There are bikes galore or if you prefer total relaxation, you can laze languorously in the many hideaways found around the estate.
From the venue to the accommodation, to the pre & post wedding entertainment for both you and your guests we offer you ‘The Estate Experience’.
