he couple met at university, in 2009. Nthabiseng says: “Katlego had been watching me for a while, but I didn’t even know he existed. Then we met at our res bash – and the rest was history.” Every year in September the couple go to Ballito to celebrate their birthdays. On Nthabiseng’s birthday in 2015, they went to a restaurant for breakfast. “We took a walk on the beach and our waitress took some photos. Suddenly, Katlego went down on one knee and popped the question! That same day, my mom got a letter from Katlego asking for my hand in marriage. Obviously I said yes! Our wedding day was a fairy tale... It was definitely my dream wedding! “Our photographer recommended Cradle Valley Guesthouse, and after seeing pictures of the venue, we were sold because it was tranquil, reserved and elegant.” The décor was simple yet classy, a combination of Nthabiseng’s favourite colours, pink and rose gold/gold. As she wanted to look like a princess at her fairy tale wedding, she chose an A-line ballgown. The couple said they wouldn’t change a thing about their wedding day. Nthabiseng’s highlight was walking down the aisle “and hearing my husband say his cheesy vows,” she laughs. For Katlego, it was “seeing my gorgeous wife walk down the aisle with a smile on her face.” Words of advice? “Take time to save and avoid going into debt for your wedding. Know what you want and don't settle or compromise,” says Nthabiseng.
