The City of Ballarat acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we live, work, learn and play on. Within our Council boundaries, the Wadawurrung People are the Traditional Owners south of the Great Dividing Range and to the north the Dja Dja Wurrung People are the Traditional Owners. We recognise their continuing connection to the land and waterways. We pay our respects to their respective Elders past, present and emerging and extend this to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People.
The City of Ballarat Libraries also acknowledges and respects the rich history of tens of thousands of years of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and storytelling.
We are committed to providing culturally safe public spaces and services in the City of Ballarat Libraries for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People and we recognise and understand our responsibility in relation to the sensitivity and significance of some of our collection materials.

An Evening with Thomas Mayo
Bolinda Audio and BorrowBox are thrilled to announce that Thomas Mayo, award-winning author and one of the most respected Indigenous voices in Australia, will be joining BorrowBox content expert, Natasha Boyd, for an in-depth online discussion and Q&A session in our next exclusive online author event.
Award-winning author, J.P. Pomare, is back with the unputdownable new bestseller, 17 Years Later: Who really killed the Primrose family.
The violent slaughter of the Primrose family while they slept shocked the nation.
Their young live-in chef, Bill Kareama, was swiftly charged with murder and brought to justice. But the brutal crime scarred the idyllic town of Cambridge forever.
Seventeen years later, true-crime podcaster Sloane Abbott tracks down prison psychologist TK Phillips. Once a fierce campaigner for an appeal, TK now lives a quiet life with Bill’s case firmly in his past. As Sloane lures a reluctant TK back into the fight, evidence emerges that casts new light on the Primroses – and who might have wanted them dead.
While the list of suspects grows, Bill’s innocence is still far from assured. What will it cost Sloane and TK to uncover the truth?
Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to hear from international bestselling author, Fiona McIntosh, as she discusses her new historical adventure, The Fallen Woman.
Set in the picturesque English countryside, in a forgotten orchard and beneath the ancient spire of Salisbury Cathedral, this is a heart-wrenching story about a woman who finds that in her darkest hour she can harness her greatest strength.
Benjamin Stevenson is an awardwinning stand-up comedian and USA Today best-selling author. He will be talking about his latest novel Everyone this Christmas Has a Secret.
When a Christmas show takes a dark turn after a magician’s guillotine trick goes awry, who should be in the front row? After solving the cases of his murderous family and an ill-fated train trip filled with crime writers, Ernest Cunningham finds himself slipping back into the shoes of detective to unravel not one but two tricksy crimes.

Author Talk with Téa Cooper
Téa is an Australian author of several bestselling, internationally acclaimed, twisty historical mysteries. In a past life she was a teacher, a journalist and a farmer. These days she haunts museums and indulges her passion for storytelling. Her latest book is The Golden Thread.
Maitland, 1889. When nineteenyear-old Constance Montague wakes one Wednesday she expects the day to unfold like any other. Breakfast with her grandmother Nell and her mother Faith, a meeting in Maitland with the ladies of the Benevolent Society, perhaps a gentle stroll along the banks of the Hunter River. But this Wednesday is different. Nell has vanished.
