A LETTER FROM THE TEAM

A Season of Intelligent Performance

As we closed the final chapter of 2025 and stepped into 2026, we did so with reflection rather than noise. The passing of a year invites pause, a moment to assess what has been built, what has endured, and what deserves to be carried forward.

Last year marked our first anniversary. A milestone defined less by time passed and more by momentum gained. We celebrated by bringing people together through sport, hosting our first padel tournament where competition met community. The winner was rewarded with three nights at the Versace Hotel in Dubai and the opportunity to witness a friendly match at Benghazi Stadium between Inter Milan and Atlético Madrid. Supporting Benghazi’s growing involvement in sport felt especially meaningful, reinforcing our belief in sport as a cultural force that extends far beyond the pitch.

Winter 25/26 arrives as a duo cover, anchored by two athletes whose careers reflect discipline, identity, and intelligent performance. Juan Fernando Quintero and Flavio Cobolli front this edition as representatives of two sporting worlds shaped by rhythm, responsibility, and control.

Juan Fernando Quintero brings football into focus through balance rather than excess. His approach is defined by presence, ritual, and clarity. He understands that discipline is not always about doing more, but about knowing when to stop. Training and recovery carry equal weight. Focus, to him, is a form of respect. On the pitch, he simplifies when chaos rises, trusting courage over perfection and intelligence over impulse. Shaped by Colombia and refined across continents, his game reflects creativity grounded in structure, rhythm guided by experience. Football, for Quintero, is what he does, not who he is. That distinction is what allows him to sustain both joy and longevity.

Flavio Cobolli represents tennis through accountability, emotion, and control. His journey began between two sports before choosing the solitude and responsibility that tennis demands. Shaped by Rome and carrying its fighting spirit with him, Cobolli competes with presence rather than detachment. He absorbs pressure, understands responsibility, and believes that success is earned through work, character, and consistency. For him, who you are off the court strengthens who you become on it.

Together, they form a dialogue between two sports and two rhythms. Football and tennis. Collective instinct and individual accountability. Expression and restraint. Beyond the covers, this edition explores what it means to perform intelligently through winter. A season that asks us not to push harder, but to adapt better. To refine, restore, and move with intention.

We turn our attention to VOYCENOW, a foundation committed to expanding access to sport and education through mentorship and community impact. LevelOut offers perspective on balance in an increasingly demanding world, while Lazaar’s story reflects longevity, cultural grounding, and evolution beyond football.

We also sit down with Brittany Gilman, whose journey from elite athlete to global sports executive offers rare insight into leadership, resilience, and navigating high performance spaces. Her perspective adds depth to conversations around identity, longevity, and building a life beyond competition.

Travel weaves through these pages as a form of restoration rather than escape. Winter movement becomes slower, more deliberate. A return to presence, reflection, and meaningful experience. This edition is not about endings or beginnings. It is about continuity. Carrying forward what matters, sharpening focus, and entering the season ahead with clarity and purpose.

As always, thank you for moving with us.

With gratitude,

Teamball.

BRITTANY GILMAN

No Stilettos on the Field

From the outside, professional sport is spectacle.

Floodlights, fashion weeks, endorsement deals and front row access. But behind the glamour sits a world defined by pressure, strategy and relentless competition. Few understand that reality as completely as Brittany Gilman.

Founder of BG Sports Enterprises, former professional snowboarder, and one of the few women to build and lead a global sports branding agency from the ground up, Gilman’s career has never followed a conventional path. It has been shaped instead by grit, instinct and an athlete’s refusal to quit.

Growing Up: Competition as a Language

Gilman grew up in Grand Junction, Colorado, a small city where sport and the outdoors were not hobbies but a way of life. The youngest of three in a family of athletes and high achievers, competition was embedded early.

By the age of two, she was on snow skis. By five, she was playing football. Ski racing followed, then a pivot to snowboarding at twelve, a rebellious move that would ultimately define her future. Summers were spent at a lake house with cousins, competing endlessly in water skiing. The environment was demanding, but it was also deeply supportive.

That balance, freedom paired with expectation, shaped her character. “My family allowed me to chase any dream I wanted,” she says. “But competition was always natural. It taught me resilience before I had language for it.”

PHOTOGRAPHY: NIRINA RANDRIA

From Athlete to Executive

Just as influential were the values instilled at home. Respect, honesty, communication and integrity were non negotiable, lessons that would later become essential in an industry where trust is currency and reputations are fragile.

Sport did not just give Gilman discipline. It gave her a mindset. As a professional halfpipe snowboarder, she competed without an agent, negotiating her own sponsorships and partnerships. Without realising it, she was already learning the mechanics of representation.

After snowboarding, she pursued what she believed would be a natural transition, strength and conditioning. Armed with a degree in Kinesiology and a Master’s in Biomechanics, she quickly realised that while she loved

working with athletes, the lifestyle was not sustainable for her.

What followed felt less like a decision and more like a revelation.

Years earlier, as a high school student, she had told a school newspaper she wanted to be “a sports agent, like Jerry Maguire.” She had no memory of saying it until she stumbled across the article later in life. The seed had been planted long before she was aware of it.

An internship at a sports marketing agency confirmed what instinct already knew. Her lived experience as an athlete was her advantage. She understood performance, pressure, sacrifice and identity in a way no textbook could teach. In 2007, she launched her own agency.

Building Without a Safety Net

Starting a boutique agency meant total ownership, of wins, losses, mistakes and momentum. There were no ceilings, but there was also no safety net.

“I had to learn every aspect of the business,” she explains. “Strategy, negotiation, relationships, execution. There was no one else to rely on.” That pressure mirrored elite sport. The same internal fire that drove competition now powered business. Over time, BG Sports Enterprises evolved alongside the global sports landscape, expanding internationally and bridging the gap between athletes, brands and long term strategy.

Today, Gilman finds herself pitching alongside global giants such as Wasserman and CAA, backed by billions. Experience, however, has a way of levelling rooms. She walks into any meeting clear on her value, her results and her vision.

PHOTOGRAPHY: MATTI
PHOTOGRAPHY: KAITLYN KHANDELWAL GILMAN

To outsiders, her role looks glamorous. And sometimes, it is. But the work lives behind the scenes.

She describes her job as a blend of Jerry Maguire and Ballers, minus the fantasy. Social media shows the highlights, red carpets, fashion weeks, front rows. What it does not show are the losses, the pressure, the scrutiny or the cruelty that high profile athletes often face.

A large part of her role is protection. Filtering noise, managing reputation and safeguarding mindset while clients perform under extreme public attention.

Longevity in this industry, she says, demands an unshakeable relationship with yourself.

Confidence is not optional. Self belief is built slowly, through experience, setbacks and survival.

Being a Woman in the Business of Sport

Gilman does not shy away from the realities of being a woman in professional sports. Progress has been made, but inequities remain.

Women are still judged differently. By appearance. By tone. By presence. Many, herself included, have experienced financial exploitation, providing services and never being paid in full. It is an uncomfortable truth, and one she believes would be less common if they were men.

Early in her career, she felt pressure to adjust how she showed up. As a professional athlete and fitness model, perception often overshadowed performance. In one defining moment, she lost a major NFL client, not due to results, but because the client’s wife perceived her as a threat.

It was a lesson learned the hard way. In this industry, appearance can shape opportunity as much as competence.

WhatDon’tPeopleSee

She adapted, strategically, not resentfully. Social media changed. Wardrobes shifted. Dreams recalibrated.

“It’s part of the game,” she says simply.

Yet being a woman is also a strength. Emotional intelligence, intuition and relationship building are assets in an industry built on trust. The key is learning to read rooms, cultures and dynamics without losing yourself.

Grounding, Balance and Burnout

Despite constant travel, from Paris Fashion Week to the Super Bowl, training and rest remain non negotiable. Gilman thrives on movement. More than three days without activity and she feels it physically and mentally.

She rejects hustle culture entirely. “Sleep when you die” is, in her words, “the dumbest thing ever.” Rest is recovery. Without it, joy disappears, and without joy, there is no fuel.

Burnout took time to recognise. Early on, she worked endlessly. Now, she listens more closely. When frustration creeps in, she pauses. Rest, she has learned, is often more productive than force.

Nature remains her greatest anchor. Snowboarding in the mountains grounds her in a way nothing else can, a reminder of where she came from and who she is beneath the titles.

Fashion, Expression and Identity

Fashion is both armour and art. It is how Gilman moves between worlds, sport, business and culture. During fashion weeks or major events, every detail is intentional. During snowboard season, she lives in gym kits and layers.

Snowboarding, like fashion, is self expression. Fit matters. Energy matters. Confidence follows.

“I’m always me,” she says. “Same ambition, same professionalism, just different aesthetics.”

Looking Ahead: No Stilettos on the Field

Gilman has been writing her book, No Stilettos on the Field, for nearly a decade. The title came first, a metaphor for walking into male dominated spaces where everyone

is watching, balance is tested and mistakes are magnified.

The book is deeply personal, emotionally honest, and intentionally composed. It draws from real experiences, observations, and lessons learned over years in the industry. The focus is on understanding the business of professional sport and offering a practical guide on how to navigate it with clarity, confidence, and integrity.

When it is released in 2026, she hopes readers feel inspired, informed and empowered to chase ambition on their own terms. No Stilettos on the Field is not a book written exclusively for women, but one told from a woman’s perspective, offering an unfiltered look into the realities of professional sport that often remain unseen.

Because the field is not level. And stilettos were never designed for it.

JUAN FERNANDO QUINTERO

FOOTBALL IS WHAT I DO, NOT WHO I AM

PHOTOGRAPHY: JUAN DIEGO VARGAS SÁENZ @JUANDIVARGAS18
WORDS: SESSA GHAZALA

“EVEN ON A REST DAY, I STILL TOUCH THE BALL. NOT TO TRAIN, JUST TO FEEL THE RHYTHM.”

He says a perfect day off starts quietly.

No alarm. No urgency. Just waking up when the body is ready, not when a schedule demands it. Coffee comes first, always. A proper breakfast that is meant to be enjoyed, not rushed. Time with family. Conversations that do not need to end. Music playing softly in the background, setting a rhythm for the day before any movement does.

There might be a walk. Some mobility work. And even on a rest day, there is always the ball. Not to train, not to push, not to prove anything. Just to touch it. To feel the rhythm again. To remember where everything started. The best days, he says, end early. Good food. Calm energy. Peace. Because recovery is not only physical. It is mental. Emotional. Human.

Balance did not come naturally. It was learned over time. Early in his career, discipline meant doing more. More training. More repetition. More sacrifice. Now, discipline means knowing when to stop. Training is sacred. Recovery is non negotiable. Family keeps him grounded in something bigger than football.

“DISCIPLINE IS KNOWING WHEN TO STOP.”

Wherever he is, he tries to be fully present.

On the pitch, nothing else exists. At home, football stays outside the door. Living half focused costs more than it gives. Focus, he learned, is a form of respect.

His days are shaped by rituals that protect his mind as much as his body. Music is constant. Sometimes loud, sometimes barely there. Quiet moments matter just as much. Time without noise. Time without input. He visualises actions before they happen, running scenarios in his head long before the ball reaches his foot. Sleep is protected like a training session. Miss it, and everything suffers. Creativity needs clarity, and clarity comes from rest.

With experience came selectiveness. He is careful now with his time, his circle, his energy. When he was younger, he chased everything. Every opportunity. Every expectation. Now, he chases what adds value. Performance. Health. Stability. Longevity.

Joy has simplified too. It lives in small things. A playlist that hits the right mood. A laugh shared with people who knew him before stadium lights, before interviews, before his name meant something beyond a neighbourhood. Those moments remind him who he was before the world started watching, and why he still plays.

When he looks back, certain moments feel unreal even now. Madrid. A Libertadores final. Extra time. That goal. Not just a highlight, but a confirmation. A stamp. The kind of moment you dare to dream only once.

That goal followed him everywhere. Every stadium. Every interview. Every new shirt. It becamepart of his identity. Not just a memory, but a responsibility.

“WHEN I AM PRESENT, I TRY TO BE FULLY PRESENT.”
“I PROTECT MY SLEEP BECAUSE CREATIVITY NEEDS A CLEAR HEAD.”
“WHEN YOU ARE YOUNGER, YOU CHASE EVERYTHING. NOW I CHASE WHAT ADDS VALUE.”
“THE OLDER YOU GET, THE MORE YOU WIN WITH YOUR HEAD.”

His career unfolded across continents, and each place shaped him differently. Colombia gave him street football, raw talent mixed with personality. Europe taught him detail, tempo, tactics, professionalism. South America brought emotion and pressure, where every match feels personal. The United States demanded intensity and athleticism. Asia taught adaptability, how to stay focused when everything around you is unfamiliar.

Even now, his game is still evolving. Decision making remains the constant challenge. With age, the head becomes the greatest tool. Winning seconds. Cleaning passes. Managing moments. Football becomes less about how much you can do, and

more about how well you choose. In difficult matches, he does not chase perfection. He accepts the chaos. He simplifies. Control the ball. Breathe. Take responsibility. Magic, he says, does not come from tricks. It comes from courage. From asking for the ball when the game is uncomfortable. From trusting yourself when others hesitate.

He has learned from many coaches and teammates, but the ones who mattered most were not impressed by talent alone. They demanded consistency. Humility. Tactical discipline. Ability gets attention. Reliability earns trust. To keep his footballing mind sharp, he studies. Watches games. Reads spaces.

Understands patterns. Football is a language, and fluency matters. But joy matters just as much. Creativity disappears the moment fear enters the game.

The most important lesson has been simple and unforgiving. Talent opens doors. Habits keep you inside. Your name is your responsibility. Every decision builds your legacy or takes from it.

With younger teammates, he does not lecture. He leads by example. How he trains. How he recovers. How he reacts when things go wrong. When he speaks, he is honest. Football rewards the brave, but it punishes the careless.

“MAGIC DOES NOT COME FROM TRICKS. IT COMES FROM COURAGE.”
“HOME

IS NOT ONLY A PLACE. IT IS A FEELING.”

Everything traces back to home. His family were the first to believe, and the first to remind him that football is what he does, not who he is. Growing up in Medellín taught him respect, loyalty, and character. Pride in where you come from, without letting it limit where you can go.

He still carries memories of playing until the light disappeared. No cameras. No scoreboard. Just the ball, the noise, the joy. That feeling is what he tries to protect, even now. No matter where football takes him, home travels with him. In his people. His music. His routines. Home is not just a place. It is a feeling. A way of moving through the world.

Representing Colombian culture means carrying joy and responsibility at the same time. Playing with flavour,

but fighting for respect. His identity shows up in his rhythm, in how he plays, in how his left foot thinks before he does.

People often misunderstand Colombian football. They see the talent, but miss the resilience, the intelligence, the pressure players grow up under.

Music remains his greatest creative influence. It teaches timing. When to pause. When to accelerate. Creativity is understanding tempo.

What still excites him is winning with meaning. Being decisive when it matters. Helping teams grow. Staying physically sharp enough to enjoy the game. He is proud of trophies, but prouder of rebuilding himself more than once.

“LEADERSHIP IS NOT TALKING LOUDER. IT IS BEING CONSISTENT.”

Leadership, to him, is about standards. Professionalism. Courage. Accountability. Consistency.

When he looks ahead, he sees himself competing intelligently on the pitch, and building something lasting off it. A brand with purpose. Projects that survive beyond football.

The legacy he hopes to leave is clear. You can be creative and disciplined. Stylish and serious. Your gift is a responsibility.

And when his story is told, he hopes it is remembered for courage. For risk. For turning pressure into art.

The Tax Playbook for Modern Professionals

Today’s athletes aren’t just athletes. They’re creators, collaborators, founders, investors and cultural personalities.

As income streams grow, so do the tax rules around them. The financial world quietly shapes everything from transfers to sponsorships to long-term wealth, and with major UK reforms on the horizon, understanding how income is taxed has never been more important.

Whether you’re moving clubs, negotiating commercial deals or building a brand beyond sport, the rules are shifting. And there are some common tax traps we see players fall into time and time again.

Transfers, Loans & the Residency Trap

More players are splitting seasons across borders, a January loan, a summer move, a short stint abroad. But moving abroad doesn’t automatically remove you from UK tax. If you remain UK tax resident, which can happen simply by spending too many days here or keeping strong UK ties, HMRC can still tax your overseas salary, bonuses and appearance fees.

Many players assume that a loan abroad takes them out of the UK tax net, only to discover on return that the UK can still tax the income earned overseas. And once the season is over, it’s far harder to argue the position retrospectively. Tax planning is the smart play here.

Modern Athlete have Side Hustles - So Does Their Tax

Your primary income may come through club PAYE, but your side hustles don’t. Most players now earn through sponsorships, appearances, podcasts, streaming, creator content, brand deals and creative projects, all taxed in different ways.

And here’s what many forget: PR gifts, free gear, tech, clothing, hospitality and other perks are often taxable. If a brand gives you something of value, HMRC usually treats it as income, even when no cash changes hands.

Some earnings count as self-employment, some run through a limited company, some qualify as royalties, and many create tax obligations overseas. Knowing which income sits where is key to avoiding surprises.

What’s changing off the pitch- Image Rights

For years, image-rights companies gave players flexibility. Clubs could pay part of a package into a separate company in return for commercial use of a player’s likeness. From 6 April 2027 that changes, any imagerights payment connected to a player’s employment will be taxed as salary. Now is the time to review contracts and rethink how commercial income is structured.

The Bigger Picture

There’s a bigger shift happening in UK tax that every athlete should have on their radar. For foreign athletes the end of the UK dividend notional tax credit for non-residents will affect players using companies for commercial work. And for overseas players coming to the

UK, the end of the non-dom regime means the UK can tax far more of your worldwide income and assets.

Athletes build wealth early and fast, which makes longterm planning just as important as your next move on the pitch. Tax planning, like sports strategy, should be focused on both the scoreboard and the trophy.

At BAND Advisory Group, now joined by Mark Davies & Associates, we help athletes and creators manage earnings and structure contracts with a focus on securing your financial future.

WELLNESS BY DESIGN

The modern fitness environment is no longer an industrial backdrop for workouts; it is a sculpted, intentional space that enhances performance, recovery, and overall well-being. Across homes, boutique studios, and luxury clubs, design is driving a new era of elevated movement culture. These are the fitness design trends we predict will define 2026.

SENSORY SANCTUARIES

In a world of sensory overload, with overstimulating environments, wellness spaces look to incorporate natural elements through all our senses. Spaces dedicated to restoration have become a defining luxury, backed by strong scientific evidence of their benefits. These “wellness sanctuaries” blend sound, smell, lighting, and natural textures to create cocoons of calm. From compact meditation nooks to fully immersive rooms, they offer intentional escape designed for modern decompression.

PERFORMANCE LIGHTING

Designing spaces that work with the body, rather than against it. Harsh white light, which keeps the mind in a permanent state of alertness, is being replaced with warmer, softer tones that help the mind unwind. Time spent in intentionally darker zones supports deeper relaxation, while non-static, naturally inspired light - such as gentle glows reminiscent of komorebicreates a calming rhythm throughout the space.

But adaptive lighting isn’t only for slowing down. It’s used as an active performance tool in the wellness space. Bright, dramatic lighting elevates energy and focus, while warm tones cue the body to reset, breathe, and recover. Lighting has become a dynamic design element, able to energise, soothe, and shape the entire experience of movement and restoration.

RECOVERY-CENTRIC DESIGN

As the full benefits of recovery become widely understood, these treatments are now built into fitness spaces as essential experiences. Thermal suites featuring sauna, steam, and cryotherapy are implemented for their role in muscle repair. Spaces that incorporate heat and cold therapy promote cardiovascular health, regulate the nervous system, enhance endorphin release, and reduce stress and anxiety. With a deeper understanding of the body’s response to these treatments, their integration through design is essential. When done right, wellness spaces are transformative.

NATURE-DRIVEN FITNESS SPACES

Biophilic design in 2026 goes beyond plants within the wellness space, creating immersive environments that evoke the restorative power of nature. Interiors now integrate natural materials and finishes, gentle nature sounds and subtle, clean fragrances, offering a multisensory escape from the overstimulation of urban life.

The material language is carefully curated, earthy textures calm the mind,

while neutral tones and organic patterns encourage focus and mental clarity. These spaces are designed as indoor refuges that embed nature into the very structure of the environment, reducing stress, supporting cognitive function, and grounding both body and mind.

Wellness design in 2026 is a quiet revolution. It’s subtle, sensory, architectural, and profoundly human. In a world craving calm and clarity, the most impactful spaces are those that support health - biologically, emotionally, and aesthetically.

Flavio Cobolli

The Romanista’s Game

FLAVIO COBOLLI, FOOTBALL ROOTS AND A GLADIATOR’S MINDSET

Before tennis became his profession, Flavio Cobolli was living a double sporting life. As a child, football came naturally. Instinctive, emotional, communal. Tennis, by contrast, demanded solitude and accountability. For years, he refused to choose between them. At 14, that decision was made for him.

The club stopped him. It was the last season he was allowed to play both sports. At the end of the year, he had to choose.

He chose tennis. Not because it was easier, but because it moved him more.

As a child, he preferred football. But when he looked inward and asked what gave him the strongest emotion, the answer was tennis.

Football Never Left Him

Despite walking away from the pitch, football remains Cobolli’s first love. Even now, it is the sport that stirs something personal in him, something deeper than fandom.

It is still his favourite sport. He cannot fully explain what he feels when he watches football. He does not only watch his team. He watches whenever he can.

That emotional connection explains why football continues to shape how he understands pressure. In football, mistakes are collective and consequences are shared. In tennis, there is nowhere to hide.

If you miss in football, you miss for the whole team. In tennis, if you win, you deserve it. If you lose, it is on you. You are in control of your result.

That control is precisely why tennis suited him better.
WORDS: SESSA GHAZALA

Rome In His Skin

Cobolli was born in Florence, with deep family roots there. But Rome is where his identity formed. His father’s work brought the family to the capital, and over time, Rome became home emotionally, socially, and spiritually.

All of his life is there. His friends, his girlfriend, and his family on his father’s side.

Although he now lives in Monaco, returning to Rome remains something he longs for. It is not nostalgia. It is belonging.

Rome also gave him a mindset. He is a fighter. Like a gladiator. That Roman part is on his skin.

That identity extends beyond geography and into football culture. Cobolli describes himself as a Romanista, a supporter of AS Roma, and he carries that loyalty onto the tennis court.

He could not do it in football, so he tries to do it in tennis. He wants to be a Romanista on the tennis court.

On court, Cobolli is defined by awareness. He does not block out noise. He absorbs it.

He knows who is watching him. He sees everything. He hears everything. He likes having a relationship with the crowd.

But presence does not mean chaos. He plays best when calm, though not passive.

If he is too calm, it is better for him to feel a little anger. Not relaxed. Engaged.

Off court, he is sensitive and emotional. On court, everything freezes into focus.

When he steps on court, it is like pressing play. Like football. Everything becomes clear.

PHOTOGRAPHY: ATP TOUR WORDS: SESSA GHAZALA

Presence, Emotion, Control

Responsibility Over Motivation FC

Like most elite athletes, Cobolli does not wake up every day desperate to train. Discipline, not desire, carries him through.

He does not want to hear the alarm in the morning. But there is responsibility. Not only for himself, but for everyone who works with him, supports him, and believes in him. For his country.

That sense of responsibility defines his idea of success. Rankings and titles matter, but only as proof of work.

If you succeed, it is because you deserve it. Because you worked for it.

Growing Alongside a Generation

It helps. Much of the pressure sits elsewhere. He and others can play with a little less weight on their shoulders.

There is pride, too. Sinner is doing extraordinary things. There is only learning to take from that.

“It is not about how much you spend. It is about choosing the right things”.

Style as SelfExpression

Three years ago, Cobolli made a quiet decision. He wanted to look different. Not louder. Not flashier. More intentional.

He wants to feel good when he looks in the mirror. It is not about how much you spend. It is about choosing the right things.

Style, for him, mirrors growth. A marker of adulthood, confidence, and self respect. The same evolution he has undergone as a player. From instinctive child to disciplined professional.

What He Hopes Others See

When asked what younger Italian athletes should see in his journey, Cobolli does not talk about trophies.

He wants them to see a good person. Someone who loves tennis and is respectful outside the court.

For him, character and performance are inseparable.

If you are good outside the court, it helps you be better on it.

Wellness Built for Real Life, Beyond Trends

LevelOut did not begin as a Pilates studio. Founded by Jacek Bilinski and Babak Brazell, the business originated during Covid as a CBD brand operating within the wider fitness and wellness space. While that first iteration was not commercially successful, it placed the founders at the centre of a sector undergoing rapid expansion and offered early insight into how people were beginning to rethink health, routine and long term well-being.

In just three years, Bilinski and Brazell have scaled LevelOut to 20 sites across three countries, a trajectory driven by disciplined execution rather than trend led growth.

In 2023, LevelOut made a decisive pivot with the opening of its first physical studio in Brixton. The move into bricks and mortar was intentional. Rather than building the business around assumptions, Bilinski and Brazell wanted direct exposure to customer behaviour. The studio combined strength training and Reformer Pilates, allowing both formats to be tested side by side in a live environment.

The results were clear. Reformer Pilates consistently outperformed across the metrics that matter most. Clients attended more frequently, built habits faster and stayed engaged for longer. On the strength of that data, Bilinski and Brazell made the decision to focus the business entirely on Reformer Pilates.

At the heart of LevelOut is a simple mission. To deliver a consistent experience that helps people feel better day to day. That philosophy translates into strong retention, long term engagement and organic growth. Rather than chasing novelty or short lived intensity, the business is built around sustainability for both its clients and the company itself.

The Reformer Pilates market has long been polarised. At one end sit clinical and intimidating environments. At the other, highly exclusive studios that limit accessibility. Bilinski and Brazell identified the space between the two.

LevelOut is positioned as accessible but premium, structured but unintimidating. Simplicity, clarity and inclusivity are embedded into the operating model rather than treated as surface level branding.

That clarity runs through the organisation.

Customers know what to expect. Teams are aligned on what matters. This shared understanding reduces friction as the business grows and allows standards to be maintained across locations. LevelOut has also been fortunate to build a team that genuinely lives the values of the brand, which has played a critical role in maintaining consistency through expansion.

Operationally, LevelOut functions as a platform for its instructors. The business is designed to support instructors in delivering the best possible experience for clients. When instructors are supported, outcomes improve across every meaningful measure including experience quality, consistency and retention.

Quality control is cultural rather than bureaucratic. While LevelOut operates an academy, works with lead trainers and runs regular workshops, it avoids over engineering the class experience. Accountability sits with the teams on the ground, supported by systems rather than constrained by them.

The class structure is intentionally three tiered, allowing clients to progress logically while accommodating a wide range of ages, abilities and training needs. A large and diverse instructor base ensures variety without compromising consistency.

LevelOut’s core audience is made up of people seeking longevity and consistency in their training, alongside a growing segment of clients who are new to Pilates and value accessibility. One of the most striking aspects of the business is how quickly it becomes embedded into customers’ routines. Repeat behaviour is unusually strong, driven by predictability, convenience and experience quality rather than hype or trend driven marketing.

The decision to scale was driven by neighbourhood level performance. Early studios demonstrated rapid adoption, strong utilisation and retention levels that justified expansion. Growth has been intentional, with locations selected based on local demand and leadership depth established before entering new markets.

Like many fast growing businesses, expansion has brought operational challenges.

Complexity was initially underestimated.

However, those lessons have strengthened the organisation. A key focus moving forward is ensuring that systems, financial controls and leadership structures continue to evolve in parallel with growth.

LevelOut is selective about partners and investors. Alignment is prioritised above all else, with a clear preference for those who understand long term value creation, operational discipline and the importance of brand consistency over short term returns.

Looking ahead, the focus remains firmly on execution. Rather than over engineering long term forecasts, LevelOut concentrates on delivering high quality studios and maintaining standards as it scales.

In the coming year, the founders will introduce two new concepts. Nytra is a more challenging Reformer based format designed for clients seeking greater intensity. Soma is a neighbourhood contrast therapy concept centred around sauna and cold plunge experiences, built under a different corporate structure.

As the fitness and wellness sector continues to grow, driven by a broader desire for healthier and more sustainable lifestyles, LevelOut stands out as a business built for real life, beyond trends.

If you’re interested in collaborating or investing in future projects, reach out to Ball for an introduction to the LevelOut team.

Precision Meets Performance: A Bespoke Home Gym in La Zagaleta

Set within the guarded serenity of La Zagaleta — one of Europe’s most exclusive residential estates — this project reimagines what a home gym can be. Commissioned by a world-renowned sports figure and former national football team captain, the brief called for a space capable of supporting elite athletic training while reflecting the calm sophistication of a luxury Spanish residence. The result is a gym that transcends practicality, becoming a private retreat where high performance and refined living meet in effortless harmony.

From the beginning, the design intent was to create a gym that felt like an organic extension of the home’s architecture rather than a standalone facility. Every decision — from equipment choice to lighting to material palette — was guided by the property’s understated style. This balance between athletic rigor and residential comfort became the project’s defining principle.

The process began with an in-depth consultation that explored not only the client’s training requirements but also the desired emotional atmosphere of the space. Preferred brands, conditioning routines, and recovery habits were discussed alongside aesthetic expectations. The aim was to craft a gym that supported intense workouts while offering a setting that felt soothing, modern, and elevated.

A comprehensive site visit followed. The room’s proportions, natural light, ceiling height, and acoustic character were carefully analysed. Given La Zagaleta’s architectural prestige, it was essential to respect existing structural features while optimising flow. Zones for strength, conditioning, mobility, and recovery were mapped with precision. Technical considerations — load-bearing capacity, access routes for equipment, electrical placement, ventilation — ensured seamless

integration from concept to installation.

Design development fused performance with visual refinement. Inspired by Mediterranean modernism, the scheme incorporated warm tones, clean lines, and premium textures. Equipment was selected for both engineering excellence and aesthetic cohesion. Specialist flooring provided durability without compromising elegance, while layered lighting created versatility, shifting easily from energising brightness to soft, restorative ambience.

Client collaboration played a key role. Detailed renderings and mood boards illustrated the vision, allowing for thoughtful adjustments. A more defined free-weight zone and an enhanced recovery area were incorporated, fine-tuning functionality while preserving the room’s calm, balanced character.

Installation was executed with meticulous accuracy. Protective coverings safeguarded the home as specialist technicians

assembled each piece with millimetre precision. Custom storage, mirror walls, and precision-cut flooring were installed to create a sense of symmetry and visual continuity. Even cable routing and equipment spacing were refined to perfection.

Finishing touches — lighting adjustments, accessory placement, and a full usability walkthrough — completed the transformation. The client’s response was immediate and enthusiastic: the gym not only matched the standards of his professional facilities but exceeded them in comfort and atmosphere.

Today, the space stands as a personal high-performance sanctuary, equally suited to demanding training and quiet recovery. In La Zagaleta, luxury has many expressions — but few are as compelling as a gym where elite performance and residential elegance coexist so effortlessly.

The Art of Childhood: Bespoke Bedrooms for the Next Generation

Children’s bedrooms in luxury homes have started to take on a life of their own, becoming thoughtful, imaginative spaces that feel just as considered as the rest of a high-end property. More and more, parents who value design are looking beyond simple décor and instead investing in rooms that shape how their children play, rest, and grow.

One of the most prominent trends in luxury children’s interiors is the move toward architectural playfulness: rooms designed not just to look beautiful but to invite exploration, independence, and imagination. High ceilings, layered levels, and fluid sightlines create an atmosphere where movement becomes a form of luxury in itself, encouraging children to climb, hide, perform, and discover within their own personal world.

Custom-built play elements are rapidly becoming the hallmark of kids’ spaces. Whether it’s a sculptural climbing feature, a miniature rower, or a whimsical installation inspired by nature or travel, these pieces serve as both artistic statements and functional play zones. The focus is on craftsmanship, individuality, and creating something that cannot be bought off the shelf.

Branching off bespoke creations, another emerging priority in kids’ rooms is the inclusion of intimate, cocooned retreats. Integrated reading nooks take the form of draped alcoves, window-seat hideaways, and softly lit corners, which offer children a place to decompress. This trend reflects a broader awareness of emotional well-being and the importance of restorative spaces. These micro-sanctuaries soften the energy of larger play areas, creating a spatial balance within the room.

Extending the idea of spatial layering, mezzanines and raised platforms have become highly sought after, introducing vertical play and offering children a sense of ownership and independence. These upper-level spaces, accessed via bespoke staircases or ladders, often double as secret dens, theatrical stages, or creative corners. As children grow, they naturally adapt into study lofts or quiet reading spots, giving the room longevity and purpose beyond early childhood.

Underpinning all these trends is an emphasis on comfort as a key element of design. Plush beanbags, upholstered mats, layered rugs, and modular soft seating add warmth and tactility, ensuring play spaces feel inviting rather than precious. In high-end family homes, durability and sensory richness now define luxury. Designers are embracing materials that can withstand enthusiastic use while still feeling refined and beautifully considered.

ACHRAF LAZAAR

BETWEEN THE GAME AND WHAT COMES NEXT

Achraf Lazaar remains deeply inside the game. Football still fills his days with repetition and intent, but his vision moves ahead of the usual timelines. While others wait for the game to slow down before thinking forward, Lazaar is already building alongside it, creating space beyond the pitch without stepping away from it.

Born in Casablanca and shaped in Italy, his career has unfolded through movement. Serie A gave him belonging and responsibility. The Premier League demanded adaptation and resilience. Leaving familiar ground meant learning how to sit with uncertainty, how to keep working without noise. Those periods didn’t just shape how he played, but how he understood the game and himself within it.

At 33, Lazaar doesn’t speak like someone negotiating an ending. He speaks like someone maintaining readiness.

WORDS: LEYLA HAMED COORDINATION: SESSA GHAZALA

What does a balanced day look like for you today, between football, business and personal life?

“My days are still built around football. Training, physical preparation and mental work are my priority, because my ambition is very clear: I want to compete again at the highest level. Around that, I develop my business projects and protect time for my family. Balance comes from knowing exactly what matters most.”

When you’re juggling different responsibilities, how do you protect your time and energy?

“I’ve learned to be selective. At this stage of my career, every decision has to support my performance. I protect my time by choosing the right people, limiting distractions, and listening carefully to my body and my mind.”

What daily habits help you stay disciplined and focused?

“Targeted training, recovery, nutrition and daily mental preparation. Consistency is what allows me to perform at my best.”

How has your lifestyle changed over the years, on and off the pitch?

“It’s become more conscious. When you’re younger, you rely more on instinct. Today, everything has a purpose. And honestly, I don’t feel old at all, I feel aware.”

When you genuinely have free time, how do you switch off?

“By spending time with my family, disconnecting mentally and giving myself space to reset. Recovery is part of performance.”

LIFESTYLE

“WINNING IS IMPORTANT, BUT LONGEVITY IS BUILT THROUGH PROFESSIONALISM, EDUCATION AND MENTAL STRENGTH.”

“SUCCESS MOTIVATES YOU, BUT IT ALSO RAISES YOUR STANDARDS.” CAREER &

Looking back, was there a moment when you felt you had truly established yourself as a professional footballer?

“There were several defining moments, but winning championships with clubs like Palermo, Newcastle United and Watford gave me a real sense of belonging at the professional level. Success confirms your work. Over time, consistency made me realise I wasn’t just passing through football but building something solid.”

You’ve played in different countries and leagues. What has that journey taught you about adaptation?

“Moving from Palermo to Newcastle was one of the most challenging periods of my career. In Italy, I was surrounded by my family and a familiar culture, football felt like home. When I moved to England, everything changed: the language, the culture, and even the style of football.”

“At first, it was difficult, and I felt the weight of having to adjust quickly and alone. But that period taught me resilience. I learned to observe, listen and adapt. It prepared me for every move that followed and changed how I approach new environments.”

Is there a moment in your career you remember with special affection?

“Signing for Palermo. Making the jump from Varese to one of the most historic clubs in Italian football was a turning point in my life. It confirmed that my work, sacrifices and belief were paying off, and from that moment on I approached football

with a different level of responsibility and ambition.”

Is there a stadium you’ve played in that you’ll never forget?

“San Siro is unforgettable, but St. James’ Park also holds a special place. The intensity, the passion of the fans and the weight of history make every match feel decisive. Those stadiums test your personality as much as your football.”

How have you managed to stay motivated and competitive throughout your career?

“Winning championships keeps you hungry. Success motivates you, but it also raises your standards. I’m still playing, I feel strong, and I’m waiting for the right opportunity to return to the highest level. Motivation comes from ambition and self-belief.”

Over the years, which part of your game or mentality do you feel has evolved the most?

“My mental strength and understanding of the game. At 33, I feel physically strong, mentally clear, and emotionally balanced. That’s often the peak moment for a footballer.”

How did you deal with pressure during the most important moments of your career?

“Pressure comes naturally when you fight for titles. I learned that preparation is everything. When you know you’ve done the work, pressure becomes manageable and even motivating.”

Is there a mistake or difficult period you now see as one of your biggest lessons?

“Leaving Palermo, where I was a key player, for Newcastle under Benítez was very tough. I expected continuity, but it didn’t come. I trained harder than ever, thinking every dip was my fault, before realising the coach simply wasn’t convinced.”

“When opportunities didn’t arrive, I lost motivation and that was my mistake. No matter the situation, you must always give your maximum and believe in yourself. You never know when the next opportunity will arrive.”

What advice would you give young players who want a long, sustainable career?

“Discipline and consistency. Winning is important, but longevity is built through professionalism, education and mental strength.”

In the dressing room, what does leadership mean to you?

“Leadership is about setting standards every day, especially in moments of pressure. Titles are won in the dressing room before they’re won on the pitch.”

Was there a player or figure who inspired you in that sense?

“I’ve always admired leaders who lead through example — players who perform consistently and stay calm in decisive moments. Cristiano Ronaldo is one of them.”

FOOTBALL

IDENTITY, CULTURE & FAITH

Moroccan football is enjoying unprecedented global recognition, with talent thriving across Europe’s biggest leagues. But before this rise became widely celebrated, figures like Achraf Lazaar were already carrying that identity into elite European environments while quietly asserting Moroccan pride on some of football’s biggest stages.

How did representing Morocco influence your mentality and sense of responsibility?

“Representing Morocco is an incredible honour and a huge responsibility. I know what it means to the country, the fans and especially to young children who dream of being in my place one day. Wearing the jersey is not just about football — it’s about pride, identity and setting an example.”

“Every time I step onto the pitch, I know I’m representing more than myself. That responsibility pushed me to be more disciplined, focused and determined.”

Moroccan football is enjoying a strong moment globally. How would you describe this growth?

“It’s the result of vision, structure and belief. Moroccan football has matured, producing players who compete and win at the highest level internationally.”

What does Moroccan culture mean to you on a personal level?

“It’s the foundation of who I am. Moroccan culture is about family, respect, resilience and pride in where you come from. Those values guide me on and off the pitch and keep me grounded wherever I play.”

When you’re away, is there something simple from home that you always miss?

“The daily life — the food, the familiar streets, time with family and friends. I grew up in Varese, and over the years it became home too. People even call me “the son of Varese” now. That connection reminds me where I come from.”

How has your cultural identity influenced the way you lead and communicate?

“It’s taught me that leadership is about respect and connection. I communicate with honesty and empathy, and I lead by example. Understanding my roots helps me relate to teammates from different cultures while staying true to my values.”

What role do faith and spirituality play in shaping your mentality?

“Faith gives me strength and clarity. It helps me stay focused under pressure and humble in moments of success. It reminds me that football is a privilege and that responsibility comes with every opportunity.”

FAMILY & UPBRINGING

“TALENT CAN OPEN DOORS, BUT DISCIPLINE, CONSISTENCY AND CHARACTER ARE WHAT KEEP THEM OPEN.”

WORDS: LEYLA HAMED COORDINATION: SESSA GHAZALA

How did your upbringing shape your work ethic and ambition?

“Growing up in Morocco and later in Varese taught me the value of hard work and discipline from an early age. Talent opens doors, but discipline decides whether you stay inside. I learned that very early. You need commitment, patience and the willingness to push yourself every day.”

What role did your family play in supporting your journey to professional football?

“My family has always been my foundation. In Morocco, they taught me values like respect, perseverance and humility. When we moved to Varese, they worked tirelessly to make sure I never lacked anything I needed to pursue my dreams.”

“They sacrificed comfort and stability so I could focus on football, adapting to a new culture and growing as a player. Their belief in me gave me the strength to face challenges abroad and continue chasing my ambitions.”

Which values from your childhood still guide your decisions today?

“Respect, humility, loyalty and resilience. I also follow my instinct. When I believe in something, I commit to it fully, no matter how long it takes. That combination of discipline and intuition has shaped my career and my choices on and off the pitch.”

How has staying close to your roots helped you stay grounded?

“Staying connected to Morocco and Varese gives me perspective, especially during moments of success. It reminds me who I am and keeps me humble.”

What lessons would you like to pass on to the next generation?

“Believe in yourself, work hard every day and remain patient. Talent can open doors, but discipline, consistency and character are what keep them open.”

ASPIRATIONS & BUSINESS

Which lessons from football have helped you most in business?

“Football teaches discipline, focus and resilience — qualities that translate directly into business. It also teaches teamwork, leadership and strategic thinking.”

How do you continue to demand the highest standards from yourself as a footballer while building projects off the pitch?

“I approach football and business with the same mentality: excellence is non-negotiable. Preparation and consistency are everything, whether I’m training or developing Sur City Group.”

What are your next goals, both in football and in business?

“In football, I’m focused on returning to the highest level and the Moroccan national team. At 33, I feel ready — physically and mentally. In business, my goal is to make Sur City Group a reference for youth development, combining football, education and personal growth.”

What is Sur City Group, and why did you create it?

“Sur City Group is about developing young people, not just footballers. It combines technical training with education and personal growth.”

“I created it because I saw how many talented players lacked structure and guidance growing up. I wanted to build what I once needed.”

What is your long-term vision for the project?

“To create a global model where sport, education and personal development coexist. It’s about giving young people real opportunities and helping them build sustainable futures.”

To end on a lighter note, what brings you peace at this moment in your life?

“Spending quality time with my family, reflecting on my journey, and knowing that I’m still chasing my dreams both on and off the pitch. I feel physically and mentally strong, and I’m surrounded by the people and projects that matter most to me.”

What kind of legacy would you like to build, both as an athlete and as an entrepreneur?

“Not just matches played or titles won, but dedication, resilience and heart. If I can inspire young players to believe in themselves, work hard and stay ready for every opportunity, then I’ll feel I’ve built something meaningful.”

Lazaar’s career doesn’t read as a sequence of peaks and declines, but as something built steadily, shaped by movement, patience and responsibility. Football remains central, but it no longer exists in isolation from the values that have guided him throughout: family, discipline, faith and work.

There is no sense of urgency in how he frames what comes next, only intention. Still playing. Still preparing. Still building. He isn’t chasing a version of himself from the past, but moving forward with the same patience that has carried him this far.

He is still in motion.

AN ESCAPE FOR TWO TRAVEL

Sometimes the best thing we can do for ourselves is pause, step away from the noise, reconnect with our senses, and allow ourselves to rest.

At Ball we believe in creating space for those moments that soften the pace of life and deepen the connection between two people. That’s why we’ve curated a collection of destinations and stays designed to do exactly that. Places that offer comfort, beauty, and the promise of memories you’ll want to hold onto.

Places that make you feel present. Places that make you feel good. Places that remind you what it’s like to simply be.

Below is our curated edit of the world’s most romantic escapes, where every detail feels crafted for two.

Hotel Cipriani, A Belmond Hotel, Venice

Venice is a dream, a floating city of canals, bridges, and whispered history. On Giudecca Island, the legendary Hotel Cipriani is an iconic retreat. Lush gardens, lagoon views, and Venetian elegance form the backdrop for unforgettable experiences. A place where time slows and romance feels woven into the air.

Mandarin Oriental, Paris

The City of Light remains one of the most timeless destinations for couples. The Mandarin Oriental offers a sanctuary of contemporary luxury moments from Place Vendôme. Private terraces overlook Parisian rooftops, the spa feels like its own world, and refined dining sets the tone for lingering, meaningful moments. Sophisticated, serene, and endlessly romantic.

The Peninsula, New York

For couples drawn to vibrant city energy, The Peninsula blends Fifth Avenue glamour with complete sanctuary. Think skyline views, candlelit dinners, restorative spa rituals and late-night conversations with the city glittering below. A perfect balance of intensity and intimacy.

Asimina Suites Hotel, Cyprus

Peaceful, warm, and deeply restful, Asimina Suites offers an adultsonly escape on the Mediterranean. With calm waters, spacious suites, and heartfelt Cypriot hospitality, it’s an ideal place to recharge and reconnect under endless blue skies.

Few horizons feel as cinematic as Santorini’s. Perched on the cliff edge, Grace Hotel offers panoramic caldera views, Champagne breakfasts, private infinity pools, and a sense of romance that lingers long after sunset. A honeymoon favourite for a reason.

Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni, Lake Como

On the serene shores of Lake Como, Villa Serbelloni is the epitome of Italian charm. With its historic architecture, shimmering lake views, and Michelin-starred dining, it’s a place where elegance meets tranquillity. Perfect for couples who appreciate oldworld luxury.

Grace Hotel, Auberge Resorts Collection, Santorini

Villa Cosy Hotel & Spa, St Tropez

The newest five-star gem in Saint-Tropez, Villa Cosy Hotel & Spa blends refined luxury with absolute calm in the heart of the village. Rooms, suites and private villas surround a year-round heated pool and exotic garden, creating a peaceful Riviera hideaway just steps from the action.

A collection of tranquil terraces completes the experience, from a Zen corner with a sparkling hot tub to the serene decks lining the main pool. A sophisticated haven built for two.

Le Sirenuse, Positano, Amalfi Coast

High above Positano’s cascading pastel cliffs, Le Sirenuse is one of the world’s most romantic hotels. Terracotta terraces, lemon-scented mornings, and sparkling sea views define its intimate atmosphere.

John Steinbeck captured the spirit of Positano in 1953:

“Positano bites deep. It is a dream place that isn’t quite real when you are there and becomes beckoningly real after you have gone.”

Le Sirenuse embodies that dream, a place of deep beauty that stays with you long after you leave.

Cavo Tagoo is Mykonos at its most iconic luxurious, energetic, and effortlessly stylish. Cliffside suites, private pools and golden hour horizons create a charged atmosphere perfect for couples who love both romance and rhythm.

Meraki, the property’s signature restaurant, redefines Greek–Mediterranean dining. Designed for sharing, its dishes combine bold flavour with relaxed glamour, all in a setting that feels as iconic as the horizon itself. At Meraki, the craft is in the flavour and in the moment.

Cavo Tagoo, Mykonos

Ibiza isn’t just an island: it’s a feeling. Beyond the beach clubs and summer energy lies a softer, more romantic side made for couples looking to reconnect, reset, and rediscover the island’s natural beauty.

Nobu Hotel Ibiza Bay brings contemporary luxury to Talamanca Bay, blending relaxed elegance with effortless glamour. Think waterfront views, refined dining, soft neutral interiors, and slow mornings by the sea.

Further north, Six Senses Ibiza offers a soulful escape inspired by wellness and nature. Clifftop sunsets, farmto-table experiences, spa rituals, and holistic programmes create a nurturing atmosphere perfect for couples craving restoration.

For something even more dramatic, Hacienda Na Xamena sits high above the cliffs of the island’s north coast, one of Ibiza’s most iconic views. Its cascading pools, hidden terraces, and cinematic sunsets make it a breathtaking backdrop for a romantic escape.

Together, these three stays reveal the island’s fullest expression, stylish, soulful, and endlessly enchanting.

A Note on Seasonality

Some destinations, particularly Ibiza and parts of Greece, operate seasonally with many hotels and restaurants closing during the quieter months. For the fullest experience, timing is everything.

If you are unsure when to travel, our team is ready to help you choose and plan your next escape based on your preferred dates, style and needs.

TESTIMONIALS

“I’ve always struggled with corporate entertainment, whether it was the planning or truly understanding the ROI. While my intentions were good, I often redirected my efforts and budget toward nurturing internal relationships that I valued most.

However, I recently had the pleasure of working with Constance and her team at Ball for organising various trips, events, unique experiences and even securing some hard-to-get tickets for our team and clients. Constance completely alleviated the time and stress of planning so I could focus on running the business, highly recommended and couldn’t go back to how we used to do it.”

“Connie is always there to assist me whenever I need it. When I’m busy, it’s easy to overlook special occasions or

important dates in my personal life, but Connie has saved me countless times with her thoughtful reminders and recommendations. My membership has granted me access to a variety of events & opportunities to develop my business further. For me, my membership with Ball is invaluable as it allows me to prioritise the people who matter most.”

“So far, I’ve booked a couple of holidays, organised a wedding, consulted with a lawyer and wealth manager, purchased a new home, and made some home improvements—all with Connie and the teams help. They are honest, trustworthy, and consistently provide outstanding service.”

WINTER. THE SEASON FOR INTELLIGENT PERFORMANCE

The harsher conditions of winter and the transition into a new year invite us to restore, reset, and reinvent. In the world of high performance, where output and consistency are currency, this season offers a valuable opportunity to reinforce our most important asset: our health.

As daylight shortens and temperatures drop, we are biologically guided toward adaptation. Energy preservation, deeper sleep, and a greater emphasis on recovery become essential. Rather than resisting these shifts, high performers learn to leverage them, transforming colder weather and shorter days into an advantage through higher quality rest, renewal, and focus.

Adaptation. The True Advantage of High Performers

The ability to adapt to changing seasons, environments, and daily demands is one of the most critical functions of physical and mental fitness. Whether in business or sport, sustained performance requires continuous adjustment to stressors while maintaining the resilience of a healthy nervous system and immune system.

Many high performers unintentionally undermine these support systems in pursuit of output. Pushing harder, reducing recovery, and assuming the body will continue to keep up. Winter often exposes this imbalance. Reduced daylight, colder conditions, and seasonal illness place additional strain on systems that are already working at capacity.

When Adaptation Becomes Imbalance

There is a subtle point at which healthy adaptation shifts into unhealthy strain.

Performance may still appear strong. Deadlines are met. Training sessions are completed. Yet beneath the surface, the nervous system remains in a heightened state, working harder simply to maintain the same output.

Chronic stress rarely announces itself. It accumulates quietly through overlapping demands such as responsibility, pressure, travel, training, and decision making, without sufficient downtime to properly recover.

Think of stress capacity as a bucket. Each stressor adds volume, while quality recovery removes it. When recovery is neglected, the bucket fills closer to its limit. The fuller it becomes, the more energy is required to maintain performance and the closer we come to overload.

The High Performance Trap

One of the lesser known paradoxes of chronic stress is that, at certain levels of success, it can feel productive or even rewarding. Stress triggers dopamine, reinforcing the drive and intensity that fuel achievement. Over time, this intensity becomes a default state rather than an exception.

For many entrepreneurs, executives, and athletes, stress no longer registers as strain. It becomes normal.

Chronic stress can feel manageable until it is not.

As the stress bucket remains full for too long, warning signs begin to appear: persistent fatigue, disrupted sleep despite exhaustion, reduced motivation, frequent illness, and recurring minor injuries. Performance becomes cyclical, marked by periods of intensity followed by forced recovery. Over time, resilience declines and sustained output becomes increasingly difficult.

This raises an essential question: how do we maintain high performance without compromising the foundations that support it?

Proactive, Not Reactive

The answer lies in proactive management rather than reactive correction, particularly during winter.

Even when performance feels strong, monitoring key physiological signals helps protect nervous system health, energy levels, and long term resilience.

A Window Into Recovery and Resilience

One of the most accessible and informative metrics available is heart rate variability. HRV measures the variation in time between heartbeats and reflects how effectively the nervous system is adapting to stress.

Higher HRV is associated with better recovery, adaptability, and resilience. Lower HRV can signal fatigue, overload, or insufficient recovery. Most modern wearables track HRV.

When measured consistently, ideally in the morning before activity begins, patterns emerge that inform when to push, when to ease back, and when recovery must take priority. For high performers, HRV is not about doing less. It is about doing the right amount at the right time.

A Window Into Energy and Cognitive Performance

Continuous glucose monitoring offers another valuable insight into how daily choices affect energy and metabolic stability. Originally developed for diabetes management, these tools are now widely used for prevention, optimisation, and behavioural awareness.

Glucose data reveals how stress, sleep, hydration, and nutrition influence energy levels and mental clarity. It provides real time feedback that supports better food timing, improved focus, weight management, and sustained performance.

For individuals experiencing post meal fatigue, brain fog, cravings, hormonal changes, or gradual weight gain, glucose monitoring can uncover patterns that routine tests often miss.

From Self Monitoring to Strategic Support

Metrics and wearables are powerful, but they remain tools. Data alone does not drive results. Context, interpretation, and

intelligent adjustment are what convert information into sustained performance.

For high performers, the same traits that enable success can also lead to overextension. When performance becomes identity, recovery is often delayed until something breaks.

The next level of performance is not found in doing more, but in adapting better.

Ball Health and Performance Concierge

Winter brings clarity. As pace slows and daylight shortens, the focus shifts from how hard one can push to how intelligently performance can be sustained.

Elite performers rarely manage output in isolation. Just as leadership benefits from trusted counsel, health performs best when it is guided, personalised, and refined quietly in the background.

Our Health and Performance Concierge is designed to integrate seamlessly around demanding schedules, supporting long term vitality rather than short term optimisation. The objective is not simply to perform well through the current season, but to preserve the foundations required for energy, clarity, and leadership for years to come.

When health is expertly managed behind the scenes, attention can remain on what matters most: creating, competing, leading, and building. High performance in winter is not about relentless intensity. It is about knowing when to conserve, when to recover, and who to trust with your most valuable asset.

Discreet enquiries regarding our private Health and Performance Concierge are welcomed.

There are very few golf trips on which you run the risk of getting caught between a cliff face and the bow of a boat. A wave comes through, knocking me off balance, and Elvis Presley runs the length of our vessel and leaps three feet high onto the slippery rock above, looking more mountain goat than French bulldog.

Every year, Ragnarthor gets thousands of people asking if they can visit his island and he issues thousands of rejections. We are one of just two groups allowed onto the island, precisely because we asked if we might do something stupid. Something we think will look really, really cool.

“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!” bellows Ragnarthor like the Norse gods he’s named after.

We look up as the island comes to life. Thousands of puffins take off at once. Inevitably, one shits on Nathan’s perfect hair, and the Vikings laugh from their bellies. We clamber further up using ropes screwed into the cliff, carrying our golf bags awkwardly. The waivers we signed, absolving our hosts of any responsibility for our well-being, are beginning to make sense. To my relief, rock turns to grass, and we begin our climb to the loneliest house in the world.

Sat in the palm of the gnarled green hand that is Ellidaey Island is a white house with a sloped metal roof and a huge New England–style porch. The view overlooking the Vestmannaeyjar is a privilege very few have seen.

Inside, the atmosphere isn’t far off an old clubhouse like Royal Porthcawl or Western Gailes. The room is made from rich, warm pine that smells freshly cut. Past legends of the hunting association adorn the walls, and their trophy birds hang from the ceiling. A bottle of cognac hangs with 6 glasses, and we all partake. Upstairs is lodging for at least 20 people.

Raggi and the other hunters guard Ellidaey’s secrets carefully, partly because they’re controversial in the modern context. Chief among them is puffin hunting. To many foreigners, the idea of hunting and eating puffin, like whaling, sits uncomfortably, given the bird’s vulnerable status. But for the 40 or so members of the hunting association, the tradition is rooted in pride and responsibility. They see themselves not as the problem, but as guardians of the island’s delicate ecosystem. Their methods are smallscale, seasonal, and deeply respectful of the land. In their view, the real threat to puffins lies in warming seas, vanishing fish stocks, and habitat loss, not in the few hands skilled enough to catch one.

After hot dogs and beers, we decide it’s time for the main event. Raggi chuckles. For better or worse, he’d rather a group of idiots show up with a bold idea and have a laugh than host a stiff, well-meaning documentarian. He’s more comfortable with a bit of chaos than with influencers or journalists trying to extract something profound from his house on the edge of the world.

Up his mountain we go, climbing for the peak in full golfwear, bags slung over our shoulders, eyes pinned upwards. The nesting puffins in the rocks make it sound as if the cliffs are groaning under our weight—which is unnerving, given the incline and steep fall on the other side.

We reach the top of the 99 Flake–shaped cliff and look out over the sharp drop on the far side. Jake shouts in triumph. The puffins take off. That’s what we came for.

Raggi grins as we get to the bottom. The fact that he delivered is written all over our faces.

“You know, one day those cliffs you

VOYCENOW VOYCENOW x

Founded by professional athletes

Zack Steffen and Alex Crognale, VOYCENOW is a nonprofit organization committed to expanding youth education and access to sport. Built on mentorship, community connection, and visible impact, the foundation works alongside local organizations to ensure opportunity is driven by talent and passion, not circumstance.

Your careers have taken you through different levels of the game. How did those experiences shape your understanding of access and opportunity in football?

We are now over a decade into our professional careers, competing across different leagues and environments. Along the way, we have shared the field with players from every background imaginable. Different countries, cultures, and financial situations, all brought together by a shared passion for the game. Seeing how football can unite people in pursuit of something bigger has fundamentally shaped how we think about access and opportunity within sport.

Was there a particular moment in your careers that made social impact feel personal rather than theoretical?

During one of our mentorship days with Boys & Girls Clubs of America, we met local kids who loved soccer but did not have access to an organised or competitive environment. Their passion was real, but the pathway was not. That experience made it clear how important it is to create opportunities where talent and passion, not circumstance, determine how far a kid can go. Since then, we have carried that same energy into supporting whatever a child is passionate about, not just soccer or sport.

How did your journeys as players influence the values you wanted VOYCENOW to represent?

We were both fortunate to grow up with access to resources that allowed us to pursue the game we love. Training environments, healthy meals, and opportunities to be seen by high level teams and coaches all played a role in shaping our careers. Understanding that privilege is what led us to want to provide those same opportunities for other kids, especially those who might not otherwise have them.

VOYCENOW

When creating VOYCENOW, what gaps did you feel existing charitable or social initiatives were not fully addressing?

Many organizations do incredible work, but sometimes the connection to the community can feel distant. We wanted VOYCENOW to feel personal, built on real relationships, local impact, and visible athlete involvement. Through our partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of America, we are able to combine that personal approach with the reach of a nationally recognised organization that serves millions of kids. Together, we identify clubs with the greatest need and create direct, meaningful impact.

Why was it important that VOYCENOW be founded and led by athletes themselves?

Athletes inspire the next generation, and that belief sits at the core of our mission. We have both experienced firsthand the power of mentorship and how having someone to look up to during difficult moments can make a real difference. VOYCENOW is led by those same kinds of role models. Players who want to give back, maximise their influence for good, and show that their impact is bigger than the game.

Can you explain how VOYCENOW operates financially and where its funding comes from?

VOYCENOW is supported through individual donations and mission aligned partnerships. These have included grant support from organizations such as American Family Insurance, brand collaborations with companies like OneFootball, and event sponsorships from partners including CLIF Bar. All contributions go directly toward youth education and expanding access to sport, covering costs such as equipment, free clinics, and support for organizations that provide safe spaces for kids after school.

How do you ensure donors understand that VOYCENOW is a nonprofit organization and not a commercial venture?

VOYCENOW is a registered 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization, and transparency is central to how we operate. We clearly communicate our nonprofit status across our website, donation platforms, partnerships, and public messaging. While we take part in creative and engaging collaborations, each one is mission driven rather than transactional. Every relationship is structured to directly support our charitable work and the communities we serve.

Why was it crucial that all profits raised go back into youth education and community programs?

From the beginning, VOYCENOW was created to serve kids and communities. By reinvesting every dollar raised back into youth education and community programs, we ensure our mission always comes first. This allows donors, partners, and families to trust that their support is creating real opportunity. Real change happens when you invest in people.

“ATHLETES INSPIRE THE NEXT GENERATION, AND THAT BELIEF SITS AT THE CORE OF OUR MISSION.”

Fundraising initiatives like Goalies for Good rely heavily on collective participation. What does that sense of community mean to you?

That unity between athletes and fans represents shared responsibility and shared impact, both on and off the field. It is the true definition of teamwork. We are all part of the same team, and Goalies for Good shows how meaningful change happens when people rally behind a shared purpose.

Why was keeping funds local an important principle when designing VOYCENOW’s structure?

We have found that our strongest impact comes when athletes and donors can see change happening within their own communities. When professional players give their time locally and supporters contribute financially, the impact becomes more personal, meaningful, and tangible. That connection builds trust, deepens engagement, and ultimately serves the kids better.

What has been the most meaningful impact you have personally witnessed through the foundation so far?

The personal connection with the kids is what it is all about and what keeps us going. Sometimes it is as simple as seeing a smile when someone learns a new skill or watching confidence grow in real time. Those moments are powerful reminders of why this work matters.

“FOOTBALL HAS GIVEN US SO MUCH, BUT HELPING KIDS SEE WHAT IS POSSIBLE IN THEIR OWN LIVES FEELS DEEPER THAN ANYTHING WE HAVE ACHIEVED ON THE FIELD.”

VOYCENOW does not provide financial gain for its founders. What motivates you to continue investing time and energy into it?

Impact. Purpose. Legacy. Knowing that we are helping people beyond football. That is the real reward.

How does seeing direct impact through VOYCENOW compare to milestones in your playing careers?

Our careers have given us moments we will always be proud of. Big games, tough battles, and milestones we worked our whole lives to reach. But the impact we see through VOYCENOW feels different. Football has given us so much, but helping kids see what is possible in their own lives feels deeper than anything we have achieved on the field.

EVERY CONTRIBUTION MATTERS.

For readers who want to help but feel their contribution might be too small, what would you say to them?

Every contribution matters. Whether it is donating, sharing our mission, or mentoring a young person in your community, it all makes a difference. Real change is built through consistent, genuine support. That is the same consistency we strive to deliver every day at VOYCENOW.

Looking ahead, what do you hope VOYCENOW demonstrates about the role athletes can play in creating lasting change?

We hope VOYCENOW shows that it is bigger than sport. That athletes can lead with purpose, use their platforms responsibly, and create real impact without it taking away from their careers. If anything, it adds to who we are, both on and off the field.

WHEN THE MASK COMES OFF

Masked, mythologised and unmistakably influential, Endless has spent the last decade redefining what it means to be a street artist in a world obsessed with image, power and status. From the streets of London to the Uffizi Gallery in Florence and the Venice Biennale, his rise has been anything but conventional, yet entirely inevitable.

Educated at Cambridge School of Art, Endless cut his teeth in the underground before infiltrating the highest echelons of the art and luxury worlds. His work dissects society’s obsession with branding, celebrity and consumerism, often transforming global fashion icons into modern-day deities through his now-signature CHAPEL motif, a sharp commentary on a culture where logos are worshipped, and fame is currency.

Along the way, Endless has collaborated with industry titans including Karl Lagerfeld, created historic public works for Liberty London and The Beatles’ Abbey Road, and become the first street artist to be represented in both

the Medici Collection and the Venice Biennale. Today, his work lives in leading institutions, elite galleries and the private collections of tastemakers worldwide. He is currently represented by Indelible Fine Art in Brighton, who continue to support and shape the next chapter of his career.

Yet, despite global recognition, Endless has always resisted the cult of personality, famously wearing a mask to shift focus away from the artist and onto the message. That changed recently, when he revealed his face live on television, marking a new era of visibility and intent.

As 2026 approaches, Endless stands on the brink of what could be his biggest year yet. With a major, highly anticipated commission on the horizon, plans for a major exhibition, and a powerful new project addressing homelessness in London, his work is expanding in scale, impact and urgency.

Ball. sat down with Endless to talk identity, iconography, luxury, legacy

— and what happens when the mask finally comes off.

You’ve spent years deliberately removing yourself from the spotlight, letting the work speak first. After revealing your face live on television, did it feel like closure or the beginning of a new chapter?

E. I think it’s a new beginning, for me, wearing a mask over half my face worked on many levels, now I want my newest work to progress and communicate with the audience on a deeper level, and as the artist, my communication should also get stronger.

Your art dissects society’s obsession with image, status and brand power. In 2025, who do you think truly controls culture, the brands, the celebrities, or the audience consuming it?

E. Now I believe culture is created by everything and everyone, with social media influencers to high-end museum shows, the breadth of what we see as culture has never been bigger.

The CHAPEL motif has become synonymous with your work, turning fashion houses into modern-day religions. Do you see this as satire, social critique or simply a mirror held up to society?

E. I made it as more of a mirror onto society, but how the viewer perceives the artwork is always right for them. I try not to make art to tell people what to think, it’s more to make them think.

Footballers operate in a world of pressure, performance and constant public judgement. Do you recognise that same intensity in your own career, and is that why elite athletes seem to connect so strongly with your work?

E. I believe anything that is practised and worked on continuously, then displayed in a public arena, has the same essence. I think the link is that we are all trying to be ourselves while striving for greatness. The trick is not get affected by the outside world’s opinions too much and stick to your own path.

You’ve moved seamlessly from the streets of London into institutions like the Uffizi Gallery and the Venice Biennale, spaces once closed off to street art. Did crossing that threshold change how the art world sees you, or how you see yourself?

E. I was lucky enough to be championed by the Italian gallery Cris Contini Contemporary, who introduced me to the high-end Italian art world and got me into some prestigious art establishments.

It didn’t change how I see myself. I have always seen my work as not being within a specific genre, and I aim to break those moulds and create my own path. Being involved with these art establishments only confirmed that my vision could be a reality, and I hope to

strive to break more moulds within the art world.

Luxury brands don’t collaborate lightly. From Karl Lagerfeld to Liberty London, your partnerships have been selective and intentional. What separates a meaningful collaboration from a purely commercial one?

E. For me, a collaboration has to work equally, the brand has to be a fan of who I am and what I do, and I have to believe the brand fits with my work. I never rush into collaborations, and the first few meetings normally determine how the partnership will progress. I think these collaborations work best when the artist has creative freedom while understanding the brand’s DNA.

You’re currently represented by Indelible Fine Art in Brighton. At this stage of your career, how important is having a gallery that understands both the cultural edge of your work and its global market position?

E. Galleries have always been important in understanding the art market and understanding the vision of the artist, not just following the trends of the commercial art world but elevating the artist to new levels while staying authentic to the work’s meaning.

Despite global success, your work continues to challenge excess and consumerism. Do you ever feel conflicted operating within the luxury world while critiquing it at the same time?

E. I think this juxtaposition is part of the artwork, while I don’t see my work as a critique, it can sometimes mirror a buyer’s attitudes to luxury and branding, and I think that’s why they like it.

Alongside high-profile commissions, you’re dedicating time this year to a project addressing homelessness in London. Why was it important for you to turn your focus toward this issue now?

E. My work is often layered with many images and ideas. I often take inspiration from the streets of London, as I believe every facet of life can be found within these streets. I have noticed an increase in homeless people sleeping in Central London and had wanted to make some art to raise awareness and make people view their surroundings in a new light.

2026 is already being described as potentially your biggest year yet, with a major commission on the horizon. Without giving too much away, what makes this project such a defining moment for you?

E. I have been working in the studio on new artworks for the past 4 years and developing my style. I feel like I am in a

position to now push my ideas on every level, including exhibitions, commissions and innovative projects.

You’ve gone from an anonymous street artist to an international figure collected by museums, brands and elite athletes. Do you still feel like an outsider, or have you finally found your place within the system?

E. I still feel like an outsider, and while I dip my toe into many worlds, I am still trying to create my own world and push my artwork to new, unexpected directions. I want to stay as original as I can and true to my ideas. To do that, I need to make my own system.

Many footballers talk about legacy beyond the game. When you look ahead, what does legacy mean to you, and what do you hope your work leaves behind?

E. As an artist, I am not concerned about legacy. I have made art from day one, and I have never stopped. My aim is to stay authentic to my ideas and create until I die, what happens after that is out of my control, and I have no interest in.

Finally, as the mask comes off and the scale of your work expands, what matters more to you now: visibility, impact, or longevity?

E. The aim is to give my work the best chance possible to be seen and understood. The impact and longevity is normally determined by outside forces, so I try to stay focused on the work.  FOR MORE INFORMATION ON ENDLESS PLEASE
