Operasyon ng Grand Terminal, naaayon sa contract of lease BINIGYANG-LINAW ni G. Apolinario Salazar, tumatayong administrator ng Batangas City Grand Terminal, ang paniningil ng collection fees ng Batangas Ventures Properties and Management Corporation (BVPMC), developer ng terminal, simula noong May 23 sa mga bus, jeep at tricycle na gumagamit ng terminal at ang pagtutol ng mga operators at drivers nito sa nasabing fees. Ayon sa kanya, ang collection fees na ito ay bahagi ng return on investment at hindi pa profitoriented kapalit ng development ng terminal at mga serbisyong kanilang ipinagkakaloob sa mga pumupunta dito. Wala aniyang nilabag ang BVPMC sa kanilang pinirmahan na contract of lease sa pamahalaang lungsod noong nakaraang taon. Ang ganitong kalaking proyekto ay isang multi-million peso project at wala naman silang nakuhang ayuda mula sa local at national government para gastusin sa operasyon ng ganitong kalaking terminal. Ayon pa kay Salazar, anim na buwan silang hindi naningil upang bigyan ng sapat na panahon ang mga operators na gamitin ang terminal. Sa anim na buwang iyon, inayos nila ang kapaligiran nito. Nagtayo sila ng temporary terminal. Inayos ang mga comfort rooms, nagkaroon ng maayos na waiting

area, food stalls at maging mga karsada ay inayos nila. Ang BVPMC ang nag-abono sa lahat ng bayarin kagaya ng tubig, koryente, maintenance, security bukod pa ang upa sa Batangas City Government na nagkakahalaga ng P225,000 kada buwan “Lahat ito, gastos ng Batangas Ventures. Wala kaming kinukuha sa bulsa ng mamamayan sapagkat ang grand terminal naman ay walang entrance fee na sinisingil,” dagdag pa ni Salazar. Aniya, ang unang proposal nila para sa paniningil sa mga bus ay nagkakahalaga ng P110 at ang bawat arrival ay P50. Subalit tinutulan umano ito ng ibang operators at sa pamamagitan ng intervention ng City Mayors Office, ito ay naging P70 na lamang samantalang ang arrival ay naging P25 na lamang. “Kung kukuwentahin natin, ang sitting capacity ng isang bus ay 49 passengers, wag na nating isama ang standing. Halos piso lamang kada isang pasahero ang mababawas sa kanila. Ano ba ang kapalit? Convenience, at safety ng kanilang mga pasahero. Una po, ito ay negosyo. Wala na pong libre ngayon. kahit po saang lugar tayo magpunta sa Pilipinas, may bayad na ang lahat ng bagay.” Sa jeepneys naman, P20 ang limang oras na pagtigil hanggang

mapuno ang kanilang sasakyan samantalang walang bayad ang mga sibat o yaong mga nagbababa lamang ng mga pasahero. Nananatiling walang bayad ang mga private vehicles na naghahatid at sumusundo lamang ng mga pasahero. Sa panig naman ng tricycle, kailangang sumunod sila sa batas trapiko at regulasyon ng grand terminal. Sinisingilan nila ito ng P10 kada pasok upang madisiplina ang mga driver na pasaway. Binigyang diin din ni Salazar na ang maaaring madagdagan pa ang mga collection fees nila oras na matapos nang tuluyan ang terminal. “Tao ang panalo rito. Kasi dati ang maintenance ng terminal ay umaabot sa P10M kada buwan. Ngayong dumating kami, na-relieve ang gobyerno sa bayaring ito at kumita pa sila sa pamamagitan ng upa na aming binabayaran. Bukod dito, tumutulong rin kami to create jobs, employment and to give convenience to the riding public. People should appreciate what the government is doing for them.” Pinipilit na matapos ang phase 2 ng Batangas City Grand Terminal bago magsimula ang Christmas Season ng taong ito upang mamaximize ang potensiyal nito bilang pangunahing terminal sa rehiyon.| PIO BATANGAS CITY

Don’t shoot the messenger, Mr. President

THE Philippine Press Institute (PPI) urgently calls on the incoming administration to commit itself in no uncertain terms to protecting journalists and other media workers in the country and thus uphold the constitutionally enshrined freedom of the press. The country’s national association editorial of newspapers, which has existed since 1964, issued the call in the wake of President-elect Rodrigo Duterte’s recent pronouncement insinuating that corrupt journalists deserved to be killed. Such a statement clearly goes against the grain of the statutory protection of the freedom of the press to report without fear of reprisal. PPI has time and again voiced its position on the unabated journalist killings in the country, now dubbed the second most dangerous place for the media, next only to strife-torn Iraq. The battlecry, “Stop media killings and end impunity,” could not be more apt, particularly against the backdrop of Duterte’s alarming comments about the press. The growing number of slain journalists, and media workers that have suffered various forms of attacks and harassment, has set off alarm bells not only across the country but also globally. The incoming president’s disturbing remarks do nothing to counter the spate of media attacks in the country. On the contrary, they tend to foster the brazen sense of impunity behind the alarming rise of journalist deaths in the Philippines. No one denies the existence of corruption within the ranks of the media. However, citing it as a deplorable reality in journalism practice is one thing, but using it as a justification for murdering or attacking journalists is absolutely another. Political realities in the Philippines are such that the media must often assume an adversarial function in their pursuit of truth — truth that serves the interest of the public. Many do so well aware of the dangers they are courting if they so much as incur the ire of the powers that be. As trite as this creed may sound, it is the duty of the press to comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable. This is the lofty ideal that many, non-corrupt, members of the media still aspire to. Would that the incoming president were more mindful of this reality. Media extortionists and blackmailers certainly have no place in an otherwise noble profession in which high ethical standards are the norm. Yet equally abhorrent are politicians and members of the business community and other sectors of society who think nothing of bribing reporters and editors in exchange for favors. But while accepting or giving ‘envelopes’ is grossly unethical, does it make it a deathly proposition? In a country that still considers itself a democracy, where the rule of law is expected to remain paramount under Duterte’s watch, extrajudicial killings — whether of media people or anyone for that matter — must not be condoned under any circumstances. The President-elect would have done well to express alarm over the fact that to date only 15 out of more than 170 recorded

Why human rights matter today? EVEN before the incoming President gives the marching order, the PNP has renewed its crackdown on drugs. Several suspected drug dealers ended up dead in a series of police operations which started few days after the election. The timing of the operations is less suspicious than the methods employed to get them. Why these drug suspects ended up dead is not difficult to explain, of course. It was reported that they all committed the mistake of firing at the police, and thus, it became inevitable for the latter to fight back. They are now part of statistics, fitting embellishments to the incoming political administration. There is no dispute that illegal drugs should be stopped by the full force of the law. The law cannot continue to stand still while the future is being ravished by conscienceless drug syndicates. Considering our present situation, a total war on drugs is imperative. This is the only cure to a horrifying disease that has embedded itself deeply in every corner of society today. Despite of this, there some basic principles which should not be disregarded if the Philippines is to remain a constitutional democracy. Among these basic principles are the rule of law and human rights. No constitutional government will have legitimate claim to history unless these two basic premises of democracy are upheld and protected. The rule of law enunciates that everyone, especially those entrusted with governmental powers, should abide with the mandate and processes of the law. In general, political and administrative shortcuts are anathema to

the regime of the rule of law. It is for these deviations that the law lays down the basic rules governing the exercise of public power and the conduct of official business. Meanwhile, human rights provide boundaries to the vast powers of the government. The government is too powerful to be left without limits. Human rights are the primary limitations to the vast powers of the government. In theory, the government may do everything it deems proper to promote the public good but in doing so, it cannot tinker with the rights of the people to be left alone, to be treated with dignity, and to participate in public matters affecting their welfare. In practice, officials and other state agents may use their powers to stop all things that maybe hurtful to the public but they cannot do this in oppressive, arbitrary, despotic, and unreasonable manner violative of the rights of the people. With the public pronouncements of incoming administration officials that the war against drugs will be bloody, human rights lie on the precipice. The danger of the law enforcement pillar of the Criminal Justice System (CJS) becoming an executioner of private vengeance in the name of the public good is real. In the process, the police will usurp the legitimate powers of the other pillars of the CJS rendering them inutile and irrelevant. For this reason, it is imperative that the pillars of democracy—the Church, the military, and the civil society—stand together in the defense of human rights and the rule of law. Human rights should prevail lest we all perish from cynicism and insanity of the time.|

Outrage justified, killings of journalists definitely not THERE has already been a lot of outrage from different media groups, local and international, over the statement of President-elect Rodrigo Duterte, which practically endorsed the killing of journalists. The National Union of Journalists in the Philippines, the Center for Media Freedom and Responsibility, Visayas journalists, the Committee to Protect Journalists, and Reporters Without Borders, all condemned the statement of Duterte. The Foreign Correspondents Association of the Philippines expressed alarm over Duterte’s statement. The Reporters Without Borders went so far as to demand an apology from the incoming president and called for a boycott of his press conferences until Duterte does so. Well, the reason that Duterte was asked about what his administration would do to address the impunity in killings of journalists is precisely because the Aquino government failed to solve these killings and put a stop to impunity. And President Aquino, in a trip to Brussels in 2014, said as much when pressed about the impunity in human rights violations that his administration failed to solve. Compare what Aquino said with that of Duterte. Aquino: “For instance, in the media killings, some

who used to work in media died. Did they die because they were investigative journalists? Were they exercising their profession in a responsible manner, living up to journalistic ethics? Or did they perish because of other reasons?” Duterte: "Just because you're a journalist you are not exempted from assassination, if you're a son of a bitch." "Freedom of expression cannot help you if you have done something wrong." "... Most of those killed, to be frank, have done something. You won't be killed if you don't do anything wrong." Both presidents were practically saying the same thing: that journalists who were killed were corrupt, which is of course, unfair, an insult and definitely wrong. It’s just that Aquino, like a typical politician, merely insinuated it by asking rhetorical questions. Duterte, consistent with his personality, said it in a brash manner. Granting that some journalists do engage in corruption or PR work, does that mean that they could be killed? If that is the case, does this also apply to politicians and government officials who engage in corruption? If that happens, then there might be just a handful of government officials and politicians left. Incoming President Duterte’s statement does not augur well for the state of press freedom and human rights in the Philippines. Duterte is not your typical politician who says what he thinks the people want to hear. Not like Aquino who says one thing but does the opposite; where there is disconnect between policy pronouncements and reality. With Duterte, he says what he thinks and what he intends to do, even if he knows it would be controversial. It’s up to the Filipino people to engage the incoming Duterte administration and pursue their rights, interests and welfare. .|

The transgender agenda: forcing us to lie DALE O’LEARY*

Commentary THE USA is in the midst of what has been called the “bathroom wars”; however, access to bathrooms and locker rooms of the opposite sex for the so-called transgendered is only a means to an end. The real objective can be discerned from ACLU’s press release supporting U.S. Department of Education’s demand that the Palatine High School in Illinois (and by extension all schools receiving federal funds) allow a boy, who wants to be accepted as a girl, unrestricted access to the girls’ locker room. The transgendered and their supporters claim that people are merely assigned a sex at birth, their gender identity (how they feel) may or may not match their assigned sex. The goal is to force everyone to accept that gender identity should take precedence over the biological reality of sexual identity and men who claim to be women should be treated as though they were women. The ACLU complained that the school district challenged their “client’s identity as a girl,” which is true because their client is not a girl, but a boy. According to the ACLU, all “she wants to be accepted for who she is.” The problem is that he wants to be accepted for who he is not. Their client claims that not allowing him to change with the girls stigmatizes him, “making me feel like I was not a normal person.” The simple answer is that it is not normal for a male to want to be accepted as female. The Bruce Jenner celebrity blitz and the battle over bathrooms, have brought the issue of gender to the fore and people are wondering how we got to the point where boys who think they are girls can use the girls’ locker room. What happened to common sense? Unfortunately, many people thought that gender was just a synonym for sex, and could be substituted for it without causing any harm. However, for activists on the far left, sex and gender are not the same. Sex is biologically determined. Gender is socially constructed and does not have to correspond to sex. There are two sexes –male and female, but an unlimited number of genders. Once identity is divorced from reality, chaos ensues, fantasy rules.

The Obama administration is determined to force everyone to accept the demands of transgender activists. Girls would have to pretend that they are comfortable with a boy who wants to be a girl using the girls’ locker room, because if girls complain or show any sign of disapproval, they will be judged guilty of “transphobic discrimination”. Everyone would have to accept that wanting to be the other sex or believing that one can become the other sex is just normal diversity, when in fact it is a symptom of disordered thinking. Even if a person doesn’t believe that people can change their sex, he would have to pretend they do and call what is obviously a male a woman. The media has accepted this demand. using feminine pronouns for Bruce Jenner, who in spite of all the make-up, surgery, clothes and fancy photographers is still male. Transgendered persons point to the psychological suffering they endure because people don’t accept them. Their suffering is real. They are engaged in a comprehensive denial of reality. Such a denial is hard to sustain as they must continually shut out the truth. The transgendered delight in “passing” – being accepted as the opposite sex in public. It hurts to be told that even if they can pass they are not and can never truly be the other sex. The government does not have the right to force a citizen to say something he knows is a lie or to be silent in the face of evil. The people have a right to freedom of speech, which includes the right to speak the truth, even if the truth hurts another person’s feelings. Socalled “hate speech” rules are unacceptable because they allow one group to veto the speech of another. Some may argue that this is just about words, but as G. K. Chesterton said, words “are the only thing worth fighting about.” Careless use of language caused this mess and needs to be remedied, first by never saying gender when you mean sex. The school under attack tried to accommodate the boy who wanted to be a girl. This was a mistake. They should have told the parents that their son is a boy and must use the boys’ facilities. If this is not possible, he needs counseling. Halfway accommodation won’t work; the Department of Education demands total capitulation. The defenders of the reality of sex difference should learn from this mistake. They cannot

Time, Space and Love “TIME is greater than space.” These words immediately caught my attention as I read the first few paragraphs of Pope Francis’ recent Apostolic Exhortation Amoris lætitia (The Joy of Love). I was disappointed, however, to realize that these words were not introducing some profound theological idea. The Pope was humbly admitting that the document on love in the family, will not be able to cover all the doctrinal, moral, and pastoral issues involved. Later on, however, in Chapter Six, perhaps unintended and unconnected, the words “time” and “space” once again resurfaced beautifully when the Pope reflects: “This process [the evangelization of young married couples] takes time. Love needs time and space; everything else is secondary (no. 224)” Afterwards the Holy Father shares some practical advice on how parents ought to deal with and love their children. But the advice also applies to every person who sincerely wants to leave a lasting personal legacy to those that God may have put beside him. Pope Francis describes the value of time, “Time is needed to talk things over, to embrace leisurely, to share plans, to listen to one other and gaze in each other’s eyes, to appreciate one another, and to build a stronger relationship. (Ibid.)” Unfortunately, we have no time for time for these profoundly intimate family and social moments. Instead, “the frenetic pace of our society and the pressures of the workplace create problems. At other times, the problem is the lack of quality time together, sharing the same room without one even noticing the other. (Ibid.)” When parents no longer know how to value time, that is, when they start converting time into a material commodity, they start filling up spaces in family and social life with material substitutes. Amoris lætitia clearly describes the consequences of not properly valuing and investing in time: “Once a couple no longer knows how to spend time together, one or both of them will end up taking refuge in gadgets, finding other commitments, seeking the embrace of another, or simply looking for ways to flee what has become an uncomfortable closeness. (no. 225)” When spent time is self-centered, then one can no longer easily disengage himself from his things. It becomes natural for him to fend off others, who may now be seen as threats to his own comfort and possessions. It is no longer easy for him to take time away from his things, in order to give his time (that is, his very self) for others, that may be invisible or immaterial but are forging of love, patience, understanding, forgiveness, etc. The family then becomes a unhospitable place where no one knows how to say, “Please”, “Thank you”, and “Sorry”. The spaces in children’s hearts, longing for moral references and models, are drowned with material substitutes that deform their genuine spiritual longings and convictions into material ones. These artificially created material longings and convictions in turn create black hole hearts where the space becomes greater than time. Thus, Pope Francis wisely encourages married couples: “[They should be] planning free time together, moments of recreation with the children, different ways of celebrating important events, shared opportunities for spiritual growth. (…) develop a routine that gives a healthy sense of closeness and stability through shared daily rituals. These could include a morning kiss, an evening blessing, waiting at the door to welcome each other home, taking trips together and sharing household chores. Yet it also helps to break the routine with a party, and to enjoy family celebrations of anniversaries and special events. (no. 226)” This capacity for self-giving, however, will only be possible if one understands that the space of our life was given to us by God, is not to meant to be filled with things alone, but above all with the time spent consuming oneself in loving others within family and work. “We need these moments,” Pope Francis says, “of cherishing God’s gifts and renewing our zest for life. As long as we can celebrate, we are able to rekindle our love, to free it from monotony and to colour our daily routine with hope. (no. 226)”

When people are forced to remain silent when they are being told the most obvious lies, or even worse when they are forced to repeat the lies themselves, they lose once and for all their sense of probity. To assent to obvious lies is to co-operate with evil, and in some small way to become evil oneself. One’s standing to resist anything is thus eroded, and even destroyed. The girls forced to accept a boy in their private space are being targeted for just this kind of humiliation. This is about much more than bathrooms.|

The improvement in the state university’s library holdings was because of STARBOOKS or the Science and Technology Academic Research Based Openly Operated Kiosks. The University of Rizal

System (URS) main campus was accredited for its several undergraduate and graduate programs by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) in part for its partnership with the Department of Science and Technology through the Science and Technology Information Institute’s (DOST-STII) STARBOOKS. The accreditation was granted to URS for passing

the AACCUP evaluation based on the parameters such as administration, personnel, book collections, library services, physical set-up and facilities, financial support, and linkages to other institutions. The accreditation serves as recognition for attaining a high level of excellence for an academic institution. STARBOOKS, according to university personnel, was responsible in increasing the

‘Doon sa kabilang bahay’ Ni RYAN JAKE VILLAHERMOSA “Life is full of surprises… may mga araw na masaya, may oras na nasasaktan at minsan sakto lang”. Ito ang mga katagang madalas kong naririnig habang abala ako sa sangkatutak na paper works sa loob ng aking classroom. Kasunod nito ay mga malalakas na halakhakan at biruan sa gawing likuran, malapit sa bintana ng lugar na aking tinitigalan during my vacant period. Nakabibingi pero kailangan buksan ko ang aking mga tenga para maintindihan ang bawat himutok na namumutawi sa kanilang mga labi mula sa napakabatang puso. Tila walang humpay ang kaligayahan nila at maya – maya lamang ay seryosong usapan naman. Malimit kong naririnig ang salitang “pamilya” mula sa palitan ng kanilang usapan. Paulit-ulit.. araw-araw sa tuwing sasapit ang kanilang malayang oras, ang paboritong oras ng kwentuhan kapag “vacant” habang kumakain ng kikiam at umiinom ng iced tea. Uhaw sa panahon at oras mula sa mga taong nakapaligid sa mundo nilang ginagalawan. Maaari din naman na hindi wastong interpretasyon nila sa kung ano ba talaga ang nais iparamdam, ipahatid o ipaunawa ng mga nagmamalasakit sa kanila. Marahil ay hilaw pa sila sa mga karanasan kaya ganoon na lamang sila kahina bilang nilalang sa ibang bagay na kanilang na e-encounter. Sensitibo, agresibo, at rebeldista ang dating kung minsan.. Schwarzkopf’s Shaping Future held Hair Fashion Show at SM City Lipa LIPA City – THIRTY women and youngsters were given free hairdressing training by the world renowned beauty care brand Schwarzkopf Professional. The training is part of Schwarzkopf’s “Shaping Futures”, a unique training program, dedicated to teaching disadvantaged youngsters the craft of hairdressing so they can forge a brighter future for themselves. Its unique training program has powered its growth around the world, with Jordan and the Philippines, two of the five new country additions in 2014. The beneficiaries were chosen through Schwarzkopf’s partnership with SOS Children’s Village. The trainees came from as far as Davao in the south and Bataan in the north. They were given five modules during the two-week training for which volunteer

Schwarzkopf hairstylists from New Zealand and Australia lovingly shared their time and skills in hair cutting, hair perming, hair coloring, hair styling and hair re-bonding. On May 20, the thirty trainees were given the chance to showcase their newly acquired skills during Shaping Future’s commencement exercises in a hair fashion show at SM City Lipa. Instead of formal congratulatory handshake which is done during the acceptance of their certificates, the attendees and trainers gratefully hugged each other which was felt by many as a very sincere “thank you” and “good bye”. WHEREAS, the herein petitioner Golden Top Steel Construction, through counsel, filed a verified petition herein quoted as follows. PETITIONER, by the undersigned counsel, respectfully avers: 1. Petitioner is a domestic corporation organized and existing under Philippine laws, with principal address at Brgy. Alangilan, Batangas City, represented herein by its authorized representative, WILDY DY TAN, where it may be served with court processes. Respondent Register of Deeds of Calapan, Oriental Mindoro is being impleaded as a necessary party in order for Petitioner to obtain complete relief, it being the repository of records relative to original registration of lands tilted under the Torrens system situated in Calapan, Oriental Mindoro; 4. A civil case for Sum of Money and Damages with Prayer for Preliminary Attachment entitled “Golden Top Steel Construction represented in this act by Wildy Dy Tan” was filed by the Petitioner against Respondent spouses before the Regional Trial Court, Branch 4, Batangas City; 5. On August 03, 2012, Notice of Levy on Attachment was inscribed under Entry No. 2012004389 on the original copy of Transfer Certificates of Title Nos.

064-2010000617, 064-2012000654, 064-2012000653 and T-97311 registered in the name of Respondent Spouses and issued by the Registry of Deeds of Calapan City. Copy of the Transfer Certificates of Title Nos. 064-2010000617, 064-2012000654, 0642012000653 and T-97311 are hereto attached as Annex “B”, “C”, “D”, and “E”, respectively, and made integral part hereof;

6. A decision was subsequently rendered in favor of the Petitioner as judgment oblige and against Respondent Arnel U. Neria as judgment obligor. By the virtue of Writ of Execution, four (4) parcels of land covered by the subject titles were sold in a public auction wherein the Petitioner was adjudged as the highest bidder; 8. A Certificate of Sale was issued showing that the four (4) parcels of land covered by the subject titles were sold to the Petitioner. Certificate of Sale was inscribed on September 3. 2013 under Entry No. 2013005312 on the original copy of Transfer Certificates of Title Nos. 064-2010000617, 064-2012000654, 0642012000653 and T-97311 wherein Petitioner, being Plaintiff in Civil Case No. 9344, was considered to have been paid the sum of TWO MILLION TWENTY SEVEN THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED THIRTY FIVE PESOS AND EIGHT CENTAVOS (Php 2,027,435.08), the sale price of the four (4) parcels of land;

On November 13, 2014, or after the lapse of one year redemption period, an Affidavit of Consolidation of Ownership was executed by Wildy Dy Tan in behalf of the Petitioner but the same could not be registered with Respondent Registry of Deeds of Calapan, Oriental Mindoro for failure of Petitioner to surrender before it the Owner’s Duplicate Copy of Transfer Certificates of Title Nos. 064-2010000617, 0642012000654, 064-2012000653 and T-97311. Copy of the Affidavit of Consolidation is hereto attached as Annex “G” and made an integral part hereof;

I have not commenced any other action or proceeding involving the same issues in the Supreme Court, the Court of Appeals, or different Divisions thereof, or any other tribunal or agency;

If there is any other action or proceeding which is pending, or should I thereafter learn that a similar action or proceeding has been filed or is pending before the Supreme Court, the Court of Appeals, or other divisions thereof, or any other tribunal or agency, I hereby undertake to report that fact or the status thereof within five (5) days therefrom to this Honorable Court.

11. On January 09, 2015, after several verbal demands to surrender the titles, Petitioner caused its lawyer to send by registered mail to Respondent Spouses a demand letter for them to hand over possession of the Owner’s Duplicate Copy of Transfer Certificates of Title Nos. 064-2010000617, 064-2012000654, 0642012000653 and T-97311 to it for proper registration of the Affidavit of Consolidation of Ownership with the Registry of Deeds of Calapan, Oriental Mindoro. Copy of the demand letter with registry receipt is hereto attached as Annex “H”; 12. However, despite said demand, respondent Spouses failed/refused and continue to withhold the same from Petitioner without just cause; 13. Due to the unreasonable and unlawful refusal of Respondent Spouses to hand over to Petitioner the Owner’s Duplicate Copy of Transfer Certificate of Title Nos. 064-2010000617, 064-2012000654, 0642012000653 and T-97311, Petitioner was constrained to engage the services of counsel for which said Respondents should be liable to pay attorney’s fees of P50,000.00 and P6,000.00 per court appearance; PRAYER WHEREFORE, premises considered, it is most respectfully prayed of this Honorable Court that after due hearing, judgment be awarded in favour of the Petitioner and against Respondent Spouses ordering them; i. To surrender the Owner’s Duplicate Copy of Transfer Certificates of Title Nos. 064-2010000617, 0642012000654, 064-2012000653 and T-97311 to the Registry of Deeds of Calapan, Oriental Mindoro and direct the entry of the Affidavit of Consolidation upon such surrender; or ii. Saints Speak on the Eucharist Maayos na pagboto ng mga katutubo

 FR. JAMES KROEGER Living Mission SAINT Peter Julian Eymard (1811-1868), known as the “Apostle of the Eucharist,” is the founder of the Blessed Sacrament Fathers (SSS) who promote devotion to the Blessed Sacrament; they are dedicated to perpetual adoration. Father Eymard advocated frequent reception of Holy Communion at a time when this was a rare practice. He asserts: “In one day the Eucharist will make you produce more for the glory of God than a whole lifetime without it.” “To be possessed by Jesus and to possess Him—that is the perfect reign of Love.” “Until we have a passionate love for our Lord in the Most Blessed Sacrament we shall accomplish nothing.” “The Eucharist is the link that binds the Christian family together; take away the Eucharist and you have no brotherliness left.” “Corpus Christi is the most lovable of feast days. Let this feast therefore be one of joy, and let us expect from it the most abundant blessings.” Saint Therese of the Child Jesus (1873-1897), commonly known as the “Little Flower,” wrote in her autobiography (The Story of a Soul): “How I loved the feasts! … I especially loved the processions in honor of the Blessed Sacrament. What a joy it was for me to throw flowers beneath the feet of God! … I was never so happy as when I saw my roses touch the sacred Monstrance.” “By our little acts of charity practiced in the shade we convert souls far away, we help missionaries, we win for them abundant alms, and by that means build actual dwellings spiritual and material for our Eucharistic Lord.” “Heaven for me is hidden in a little Host where Jesus, my Spouse, is veiled for love. I go to that Divine Furnace to draw out life, and there my Sweet Savior listens to me night and day.” “Holiness is a disposition of the heart that makes us humble and little in the arms of God.” Saint Thomas Aquinas (1225-1274), a Dominican priest and Doctor of the Church, wrote much profound theology; he also wrote beautiful hymns of Eucharistic Adoration. His well-known hymns are: Panis Angelicus (Bread of Angels), Adore te Devote (Humbly I Adore Thee), O Salutaris Hostia (O Saving Victim), Pange Lingua Gloriosi (Tell, my Tongue, the Mystery), and Tantum Ergo (Down in Adoration Falling). Thomas eloquently explained many dimensions of the Eucharist. “Material food first changes into the one who eats it, and then, as a consequence, restores to him lost strength and increases his vitality. Spiritual food, on the other hand, changes the person who eats it into itself.” “Thus, the effect proper to this Sacrament is the conversion of the person into Christ, so that he may no longer live, but Christ lives in him. Consequently, it has the double effect of restoring the spiritual strength he had lost by his sins and defects, and of increasing the strength of his virtues.” Regarding Christ’s presence in the Eucharist, Thomas wrote: “It is absolutely necessary to confess according to Catholic faith that the entire Christ is in this sacrament.”

ng DepEd sa mga out-of-schoolyouth at ilang may potensiyal na mga magbabalik-eskwela para himukin ang mga ito na mag-enroll sa nasabing programa. Hinihikayat din ng ahensiya ang enrollees ng mga pribadong senior high school na gamitin ang SHS Voucher Program upang mabigyan sila ng diskwento sa matrikula at iba pang bayarin sa paaralan at tulungan ang kanilang mga magulang na pagaanin ang gastusin ng kanilang mga anak na nasa SHS. Saklaw ng Senior High School ang walong aspeto ng pag-aaral bilang bahagi ng core curriculum nito, at isang dagdag na track batay sa apat na disiplina kabilang ang academic, technical-vocational-livelihood, sports at arts & design.| PIA
