THE RING AT MSU May 3, 2024 ∙ 3pm Chapel of Memories The Mississippi State University Alumni Association cordially invites you and your guests to attend the presentation of the Official Rings at the annual Ring Ceremony.

OFFICIAL RING DESIGN RING TOP The top features a brilliant garnet (maroon) stone which is encircled by the Mississippi State University name and the date of its founding with two start dividers. The dividers recognize Mississippi State and the state of Mississippi’s involvement in any armed conflicts before 1878.

LEFT SIDE Graduation year. The left side of the ring displays the face of Gen. Stephen D. Lee – whose bust presides over the university’s Drill Field.

The American Bald Eagle with wings spread, holding a shield atop a crossed rifle and saber – symbolic of the university’s commitment to the protection of freedom and liberty–can be found on both sides of the class ring.

RIGHT SIDE Degree letters. The bulldog on the right side is in recognition of our mascot and defense of Mississippi State in both academics and athletes.

Dear Students and Families; Congratulations! You have earned the distinction and privilege of participating in an important Mississippi State University tradition: The Mississippi State University Ring Ceremony. The Mississippi State University Ring embodies our unique experience and is exclusively available to students and alumni of MSU. The ring will remain unchanged and will forever bond those who wear it with the MSU community. Mississippi State University has had the same ring design since 1935, when H.E. “Slim” Allen and L.G. Balfour created the official ring of our university. The design has remained consistent, and the ring has been a way for Bulldogs all over the world to connect to one another. Since its inception, the MSU Ring has become the symbol of a student's time and accomplishments at Mississippi State University. By ordering your ring before March 15th, you will receive your ring at the Ring Ceremony on May 3rd in the Chapel of Memories. With an MSU Class Ring, you can proudly display your Maroon pride as a Bulldog. Join your fellow classmates to keep “ringing” in this special tradition! We encourage you to support this great MSU tradition as a portion of every ring order helps support the mission of the MSU Alumni Association. You can order your ring by going to balfour.com/msstate, or meeting with our Balfour representatives: Tuesday, February 13th - Thursday, February 15th • 9am - 4pm Tuesday, February 27th - Wednesday, February 28th • 9am - 4pm MSU Barnes & Noble Bookstore
