Kasturba Medical College (KMC), Mangalore is one of the Oldest Private Medical colleges established in 1955. KMC Mangalore has gained a reputation in the due course of time through the excellence of education it imparts and the research work that the college has done in the field of medicine. The college is affiliated with the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Karnataka. Now KMC, Mangalore functions as a Deemed college. It is a constituent part of MAHE, Manipal founded by Dr. TMA Pai. It got recognition from the Medical Council of India in 1958.

It was soon recognized by The General Medical Council of Great Britain, The Malaysian Medical Council, and The Australian Medical Council. It also received full (AAHRPP) Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs accreditation in Dec 2011—a first in India.

KMC, Mangalore was the first self-financing medical college in India and it was also the first Institution of India that has followed the Public-Private Partnership. The college was first affiliated to Karnataka University and later in 1965 to Mysore University, followed by affiliation to Mangalore University in 1980. KMC, Mangalore was established as a part of the Manipal Academy of Higher Education along with the other two hospitals Government Wenlock Hospital and Government Lady Goschen Hospital.

Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English having 50% marks from any recognized board. Candidates from the reserved category need to possess 40% in the same.

Candidates need to attain 17 years of age. Less than mentioned age will not be entertained in any circumstances.

Candidates must have qualified NEET UG with the required percentile.

For MD/MS Aspirants:

Candidates must have passed MBBS from a recognized University by the NMC.

Candidates need to have completed 1 Year of mandatory Internship on or before 31st of March in the same year of applying.

Candidates need to produce permanent/provisional registration provided by the NMC (Earlier MCI) or the respective state medical council.

Candidates need to obtain a minimum of 50 percentile in NEET PG for General Category and for reserved category, the requirement is 40 percentile in the same.
