Future-proofed pipe systems
egeplast UK believes the development of innovative pipe systems which address climate change and UK infrastructure issues to ensure adequate future water supplies will be key to its future success.
Part of a €200-million company, egeplast UK already manufactures advanced pipe systems which help protect water supplies. These include continuous monitoring systems which notify water companies as soon as a leak occurs to minimise water or sewage loss. It also makes pipe products which have protective outer skins to protect them against damage during installation or through localised groundwork and was the first company to market barrier pipe in Europe, a product designed to protect drinking water from harmful contaminants.
The company is now looking to build upon its success by investing in the further development of systems which address the longer-term issues being face by water companies with a focus on water leakage and carbon reduction. Solutions that reduce the carbon output during installation are increasingly popular and PE systems that enable trenchless installation support this.
