AboutMe
ProjectDescription
The Mercati di Traiano Museo dei Fori Imperiali project was an interdisciplinary project focused on engaging in cross-cultural experiences and understanding design methods across various disciplines. Each team created its own design firm, creating a unique identity and brand. Our team, Y Solutions, consisted of architect Bryce Kuhn, graphic designer Stacy Wetterich, interior designer Kylie Eischen, and myself. The project comprised three main components: the Elagabalus temporary museum exhibit, Giardini delle Milizie, and Torre delle Milizie. Our primary objectives were to strengthen community engagement, enhance the visitor experience, promote cultural awareness, and establish the market as a leading cultural destination in Rome. By creating engaging and educational experiences, we aimed to attract local residents, tourists, and cultural enthusiasts interested in Rome's rich history and heritage.
I led the design for the Giardini delle Milizie, focusing on creating public access from the street level, ensuring ADA accessibility, and incorporating a café along with a space for information about the Torre delle Milizie and ticket entrance.

Concept
Monumentality: Evoking emotions that create a lasting impression Giardini delle Milizie: Permanence
DesignStatement
Inspired by the concept of monumentality, our approach aimed to celebrate Rome's grandeur while incorporating modern innovation. The Giardini delle Milizie aimed to create its own sense of monumentality reflected horizontally complimenting and contrasting the verticality and grandness of the Torre delle Milizie.
GIARDINI DELLE MILIZIE STREET VIEW ELEVATION
The water collects in a channel that runs the length of the retaining wall underneath the stairs and elevator. The small wall keeps people from stepping into the water while still allowing interaction through a narrow channel flowing through it. The cylinder elevator reflects the exhibit inside the Torre delle Milizie to make an immersive experience for those needing ADA access.
The garden features swings and bench seating to offer various options for public engagement and immersion. A banner highlights the current temporary exhibit to encourage visitors to enter and learn more about the history of Rome.
Upon reaching the top of the stairs or elevator, you will find the café and information point. The café offers refreshments and a small selection of merchandise, while the information point provides details about the museum and Torre delle Milizie, as well as a place to purchase entrance tickets.
Adjacent to the café are tables and chairs for enjoying refreshments. The stretched fabric offers protection from the elements, while the waterfall helps mitigate street noise and creates a more serene environment.
Iowa State University Interior Design Internship
InternshipDescription
During my internship as an Interior Design Intern and Construction Project Management Assistant at Iowa State University’s Facilities Planning and Management (FP&M) Services, I gained hands-on experience in both interior design and project management within a university setting. In my interior design role, I was responsible for organizing and managing the materials library, setting up CET drawings for designers, updating the AutoCAD master furniture file, ordering and returning samples, and attending client meetings. I also explored various furniture layout options for projects, selected fabric options, scheduled representative visits, and conducted site analysis and inventory documentation. In project management, I attended client and contractor meetings, entered approved budgets, completed contract forms, coordinated with reps and contractors, created work orders, and managed project closeouts. This experience provided me with a comprehensive understanding of facilities management and design processes, contributing to the upkeep and enhancement of university facilities within a defined budget..

Parks Library at Iowa State University needs design solutions in order to provide adequate spaces for a variety of needs, specifically for neurodivergent students. Through our research, it was found that there needs to be a better variety of designated spaces, such as; tutoring areas, usable study rooms, collaborative areas, chill-out areas, presentations rooms, and quiet zones. Observations showed that these spaces/activities overlapped with one another creating an inadequate learning environment. As designers, we need to meet the needs of everyone, which means considering neurodiversity within students and individual learning styles/preferences.

Often, hotel spaces are not designed with families in mind, especially private areas. Our main focus for this project is to bridge the age gap between adults and children. We aim to incorporate elements that appeal to all age ranges, making it ideal for families to stay, interact, and create lasting memories. Our target clients for this project are families of five traveling to the Chicago area, specifically Navy Pier. The hotel is surrounded by water on three sides of the pier and is near many restaurants and attractions, providing ample entertainment for our guests.

Lush Cosmetics 06
ProjectDescription
Design a retail shop located on Main Street in Ames, Iowa. The shop will occupy an existing space on the ground floor of the Sheldon Munn. Each group can choose the retail shop and brand they will design for, focusing on small, independent businesses. The retailer can be local, national, or international and can sell various products, not limited to clothing. The selected retailer should be a business that is viable in the Ames community. Selection criteria can include sustainability, viability, female/minority ownership, or other relevant factors. Founded in 1995 in the UK, Lush is known for inventing its own products and fragrances, specializing in bath, body, and hair care. Committed to ethical practices, Lush products are 100% vegetarian and 85% vegan, and the company opposes animal testing. Emphasizing sustainability, Lush uses "naked packaging," with 65% of their products left unpackaged year-round and the remainder packaged in recycled and recyclable materials. All Lush products are fresh and handmade, aligning with their mission to provide high-quality, environmentally responsible beauty solutions.
